It was a pleasure to have Kelsey as our doula with our daughter. For first time parents, child birth can be SCARY to say the least, but Kelsey put our minds at ease throughout the whole pregnancy and birth. Every question we had throughout our pregnancy was answered with complete authenticity and honesty. Kelsey has so much knowledge surrounding what she does, and it helped us immensely. Kelsey was with us every step of the way during labour and she knew exactly what I needed before I even knew I needed it - her suggestions were always spot on for me, and I had a very calm labour that I credit to Kelsey. She is so easy to have around, even just to chat with, and I would recommend her to anyone!

Kelsey was exactly who we needed, our experience was nothing but amazing with her and our newborn.

As new parents who's original birth plan didn't go as intended and we needed help, we didn't have a doula during and we found Kelsey after we had given birth and returned home.

Kelsey was always supportive,  helped calm and guide us with baby care, and helpful with and questions or worries we had.

she was much needed and would use her services again.

Our experience with Kelsey has been everything we had hoped for and more.

Kelsey has such a magnetic energy and we knew she would be the perfect match to help welcome our baby earth side. Right from the start Kelsey made us feel safe and supported with our decisions regarding birth. She was easily reachable and if a situation arised we were able to collaborate and work through it together. She is a wealth of knowledge on all things birth and babies.

I cannot thank Kelsey enough for her support throughout my pregnancy and being there in labour. I can confidently say that her expertise made my home birth so easy and enjoyable. Just having her talk me through labour was so beneficial. She knew exactly what I needed before I even needed it!

I highly recommend Kelsey to everyone I meet who is expecting. She is amazing to work with and can help navigate those fears around birth/labour to make the experience better for everyone involved.

Choosing someone to be present during one of the most special and intimate experiences in life can be a challenging decision to make, and we are so happy we had Kelsey there for us during this time. We met with several Doulas initially but knew from the get-go Kelsey was the right fit for us. What drew us to her was her calming and grounding energy, which was maintained during labour, which is what I needed most. On top of this, Kelsey is respectful, kind, nurturing and has a wealth of knowledge. I felt fully supported in my pre-natal, birthing, and post-partum phases. If these qualities are important to you, then I would highly recommend Kelsey's support.

Kelsey was the only reason I managed to pump or breastfeed at all following my c section which was 2 weeks before my due date. No lactation consultant could help me in the hospital so she came to my home and showed me how to pump whilst I was in pain and horrendously sleep deprived. As for the c section unfortunately I was not allowed to have a doula as well as my husband in the OR, but Kelsey kept me calm in the triage room (which was chaotic) and kept running out to get me ice, keep my husband company during my spinal, and advocate for my needs (I'm needle phobic). Also Kelsey was the only person I would trust with overnight baby duties - I don't even trust family with that! My baby was always calm around her so that's all you need to know really ?? thank you Kelsey for always being on the phone for all my FTM questions!

When I found out I was pregnant with my second baby, I knew I wanted a more holistic, supportive, calm, and informed birth experience. My first birth was a very long labour that ended in a cesarean and I wanted so badly to achieve a VBAC this time around. Once we interviewed Kelsey as a potential doula we knew that she would be the one for us. I loved her energy, calming presence, advocacy, and alignment in what I felt was most important to me. I loved that I had someone in my corner the entire pregnancy and birth. My husband was a fantastic support person throughout pregnancy and birth, and Kelsey made it so much easier for him to be the best support person and filled in the gaps for me too. Additionally, her support postpartum has been such a blessing to help me acknowledge the successful VBAC, process the birth, and support us in our home in the first few weeks. We loved working with Kelsey and would definitely recommend her to others. She also had a wonderful sense of humour and will go out and get you Starbucks as soon as they open in the morning after labouring all night.

Nothing but great things to say about Kelsey, she's amazing.  I am so grateful to have her as my birth and postpartum doula, especially as a single mom undergoing the process solo.

For birth, she helped me champion through one of the most difficult and painful tasks of my life, consistently cheerleading me through the whole birthing process.  She helped advocate for my wishes and with all the fine details, it truly made my birthing experience a positive one.

During postpartum , she helped fix my latch and provided creative breastfeeding techniques. She was flexible and accommodating with her time, going above and beyond providing me care during this critical time of healing. She’s great at reassuring everything and calming my nerves, and with truth! She has a wealth of information to share. She also helped me with some meal-prepped some delicious meals! Kelsey empowered and cheerled me throughout the whole journey.  Her expertise, referrals, and support around all things pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, and postpartum were immensely valuable.  Her genuine, non-judgemental and authenticity and warm personality made me felt comfortable at all times.

I highly highly recommend Kelsey, with conviction!

We were uncertain if we wanted a doula or not since it was our second daughter.
Today I can definitely say that having Kelsey with us was our best decision, I could not thank her enough for her support.
Kelsy is very professional, she has lots of knowledge and experience and most importantly adjusted herself to what I wanted and made sure to reduce any stresses I had.
Now I understand the importance of having a doula, the hospital team is taking care of the medical process but the doula is taking care of you; From small things like drinking enough liquids through big things like pain management.
Kelsey did much more than that! She took care of me after giving birth when my body was so weak that I was not able to stand on my own. She came back the next day to help me get a shower and eat, made sure that I would feel better again so I could take care of my 2 daughters.
We are so thankful for having you Kelsey.

So glad I chose Kelsey as my postpartum doula, she was such a great support to us as we are first time parents. Always punctual, be it rain, snow or sunshine, very well coordination regarding time slots. Prompt to answer and guide, quick on follow ups.
Shared her wisdom on breastfeeding techniques and tools when I was having lactation issues. Above all she was like family to us, bonded emotionally. Highly recommend her support during this phase.

I cannot sing Kelsey enough praise for the kindness and professionalism she showed during our time together.  From the second I met Kelsey, I knew I wanted her to be apart of my home birth - she carries a sense of home, comfort and connection with her, and was an absolute joy to have present during my birth.  Her calm presence made all the difference in getting me from 8-10cm dilated; even when I thought I couldn't do it.  She also spent time after the birth to take down the birthing pool, do some laundry, and make me a delicious snack plate - basically set the scene for me and my husband to snuggle in and focus on what was important in the moment (our beautiful baby girl). If we were to have a third baby, I know I'd want Kelsey by my side again. Highly recommend!

We were not sure whether we needed a doula or not. My midwife recommended Kelsey and after our first meeting with her - both my husband and I knew it was a match!

It was such a pleasure working with her, she spent lots of time educating us both, Kelsey was available 24/7 and answered all our silly questions. She was extremely supportive and knowledgeable about all of the aspects. Kelsey supported us all the way until the baby was born and even after… It was such a relief to have someone by my side during the labour stages who knew exactly how I wanted everything to happen! Her postpartum support was excellent as well!

I was unsure about having a doula at the start of my pregnancy and now I'm so glad I did! I am so happy that I found Kelsey, who was there throughout my pregnancy, labour and postpartum. She put my worries at ease, supported me during hard times and was my cheerleader when things were going well. She has so much knowledge about the entire child bearing process and normalized all the many things that can happen throughout the process. Kelsey has a calming yet confident presence about her that I really appreciated. I would (and will) use Kelsey again and have already recommended her to multiple people!

We had Kelsey’s help with postpartum and baby proofing the house, and she is fantastic. We highly recommend her to any expecting parent(s).

We were very excited about welcoming our first-born but nervous at the same time so we decided to seek help from a postpartum doula. She has this amazing positive energy combined with kindness, thoughtfulness, strong expertise, efficiency, and she’s also understanding and professionally-friendly.

Just meeting her for the consultation washed away our worries, and we were able to just enjoy the excitement after that day.

She kindly offered to answer questions over emails/texts, so we took advantage of that often too. She always responded immediately with concise answers that were super helpful. She's very up-to-date with all baby news too: one day we were looking for baby Tylenol when there was a shortage. We checked multiple stores with no luck, so we reached out to her just in case and she knew exactly where we could find it!

She was fantastic with our baby and our kitty baby, too, who's usually very shy to come out for guests but she was friendly with her.

We were very lucky we found Kelsey. She's a part of our happy welcoming newborn history that we'll always cherish and be thankful for.

As our postprtum doula Kelsey is so warm, knowledgable and never judgemental. She truly and deeply cares. Both my husband and I quickly found a deep trust in her. We instantly found like she 'had our backs' during a time where there is a lot of emphasis on baby, and not as much always towards the new mom and dad. When having any childeren in the future I plan to reach out to Kelsey the minute we know! I wish we had her in our corner from the get-go with our first child. We appreciate you Kelsey!

I can't even begin to describe how much this wonderful woman has helped us since our son was born.

We hired Kelsey as our post partum doula and she was very tentative and encouraging even before we had our son.  She did many check ins with us and offered alot of advice.

She was always easy to get ahold of and very easy to book.

The first couple months of motherhood definetly weren't the easiest but the flexibility and communication Kelsey had made everything so much easier for a new mom.

I cannot express enough how grateful I am for everything she had done for my family. My son is now one and we greatly miss her visits.

Kelsey was recommended to us by our midwife as we had decided to have a home birth. Her calm, confident, and nurturing presence made us feel so comfortable and relaxed, we clicked right from the start . She is the support person (sister, friend, aunt, mother, etc.) I didn't know I needed, and I really wished I had had with my first pregnancy and birth. She validated my feelings while reassuring me to trust the process. Despite this being our second pregnancy, she added so much value and knowledge; she brought up things we would have never considered or didn't know were possibilites. Additionally, our toddler, who is slow to warm-up, also felt comfortable with Kelsey which was reassuring as Kelsey was to be there to support our toddler if need be. Lastly, her placenta print is phenomenal, and such a beautiful momento. I would without a doubt recommend Kelsey to anyone looking for a doula.

Words cannot express how grateful we are to have Kelsey as our Doula. She was approachable, evidence based, ensured our desires throughout the entire journey were addressed, was incredibly accessible, and was an absolute pleasure to be around! Kelsey was there for us pre and post natal, making sure we were supported and answered our ‘we don’t know what we are doing in the first 24 hours’ questions in record time to calm our nerves. She will forever be part of the most important day of our lives and we were so lucky to have her be a voice of reason when we needed it the most.

I cannot say enough good things about our experience working with Kelsey. I think every family has to find the doula they mesh with and Kelsey was 100% it for us. She had a calming, supportive presence every step of the way and in talking to her you can’t help feel her enthusiasm for birth. She took the time to really understand our values around birth and is an absolute wealth of knowledge. When we had some medical decisions come up Kelsey did a great job at translating what the midwives/obstetrician were saying and really explained our options in a very informative and non-judgemental manner. In terms of labor support all of her cues were extremely helpful and well timed. I felt like I could fully concentrate on laboring because Kelsey has a seemingly magical way of anticipating everything I needed as well as everything I didn’t even know I needed! She had some amazing cues that really helped to make each contraction count. I am very certain that our birth wouldn’t have been the empowering experience that it was without her support. If we were to get pregnant again, Kelsey would be the first person we’d tell to ensure we could have her there with us again. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking for a doula.

At 30 weeks pregnant, my midwife was no longer able to see me and I switched to a group of midwives as they were the only ones that could take me on. However I knew this would mean I might have a person I had never met deliver my baby, exactly what a didn't want, so I hired Kelsey to ensure I'd have a familiar face during labour and birth. However, my water broke before I had a chance to meet Kelsey, so we met at the hospital. Despite this rough start, Kelsey made me feel safe, cared for and confident. She helped get me through the worst of my contractions better than the medication by applying pressure and doing massage. She was also able to coach my husband so he knew how to help as well. During the birth she listensed to what I needed and counted me through each set of pushing. She made me feel calm and powerful during the delivery. Postpartum, Kelsey also supported me at home with my breastfeeding journey. On our final visit she gave me a print of my placenta, a beautiful baby blanket made by her mother and a book that made her think of me. She was an incredible listener and I would strongly recommend her for her expertise and comfort. Thanks Kelsey!

Kelsey was our doula for the birth of our first baby. My husband and I immediately clicked with Kelsey. Her knowledge and passion of all things surrounding birth is incredible. She was there throughout my pregnancy, birth and the post partum period to answer any question I had. We had a home birth and throughout the whole labour and birth Kelsey was there doing whatever I needed before I even knew I needed it. Kelsey is caring, non-judgemental, compassionate, loving and has a great sense of humor! She provided helpful tips surrounding breast feeding, soothing, sleeping and becoming new parents.

Kelsey is an experienced doula with infinite tools in her tool belt, she goes above and beyond the call of a doula, she quickly became a friend.  I highly recommend her to all of my friends and family and hope she will be available for my nexy pregnancy!!

Originally I wasn't going to hire a doula. As my due date got closer boty my partner and I realized that we don't really know what to expect even after watching online birth classes. We both panicked and felt we werre not that prepared -- he was worries he couldnt support me alone. I reached out to Kelsey thanks to recommendations from a local group of moms. I also reached out a few other doula's because Inwas told to meet a few and a get a feel for who is the right fit although I already new Kelsey was perfect fit for us. She answered all my questions and concerns, she was very aupportive pre-labor, duribg labor, and post partum. I do not think my labor and delivery would have gone the way it did had without her present. Kelsey listened to my concerns, supported me and ny decisions and was an advocate for me when needed. Her teaching, shiwing us, and heloing my partner with counter oressure, the TENS machine, and having her on the phone if needed 24/7 saved me from so much anxiety of the unknown and helped alleviate some of the 30+ hours of lovely labor pains. My partner and I are very happy with the service she provided and how much knowledge she had about the entire process. I felt comfortable and safe during someone foreign and vulnerable time with Kelsey and my ortner there. Again, I am so glad I decided to hire a doula and that it was Kelsey. Highly recommend her to everyone, all of my friends, who are currently expecting. Will definitely be keeping her around for if we ever decide on another babe!

Kelsey was our post-partum doula for the birth of our first baby. Working with her was one of the best decisions we made in our life. Our baby had breastfeeding problems and did not want to feed. She was hungry and crying which made me anxious as a first-time mom. Kelsey visited us the very next day after we got home from the hospital which brought us big relief. She provided factual information and solutions on breastfeeding challenges such as latching and ways to increase the low milk supply. Following the information she provided, we were able to overcome the breastfeeding challenges and our baby started to feed and gained weight. During her visits, Kelsey offered me guidance, reassurance, and encouragement through the emotional and physical recovery from delivery. We did not have parents or close relatives to help us during the post-partum period. So we valued her support when she prepared delicious and nutritious meals and provided reliable, effective tips to help my baby and myself bond better through knowledge gained from her years of experience. She also showed us ways to care for and soothe our newborn. She was available to promptly answer our concerns through texts, or phone calls. Kelsey is a loving, empathetic, knowledgeable, all-around person and amazing doula who cared well for our baby and me during her time with us. My husband and I are deeply grateful for the services she provided when we needed them most. We highly recommend her doula services to any expecting mothers!!

If you're looking for knowledgeable, compassionate, and non-judgmental support in all things pregnancy, childbirth, and postpartum, Kelsey is your doula! She's a skilled birth coach, who helped me not only cope with - but importantly make the most of - every contraction, which made my journey to meeting my baby boy feel swifter and more empowered. Kelsey also helped us navigate many hurdles - the pressures of induction (given my "advanced maternal age"), an unplanned cesarean and associated healing journey, toddler adjustment to life with a new sibling, and more. She was always quick to respond and made me feel so well supported. I wholeheartedly recommend Kelseys services!

Kelsey stepped in to help our family after an extremely challenging set of postpartum circumstances. There is no doubt that we would not be in the position we are today without her help over the first 10 weeks of our son's life. Kelsey was such a phenomenal support not just in terms of her magical touch with our baby but also her kindness, breastfeeding and baby expertise as well as emotional support when I needed it the most. Kelsey helped us without even having to be asked - she just knew what needed to be done and did it with ease. She is also an amazing cook so we loved her delicious and nutritious meals. I would not hesitate to recommend Kelsey and without her I know my experience as a new mom would have been so different. Hiring Kelsey was our best postpartum decision hands down!

Working with Kelsey Mizener is one of the best and most important choices I have ever made in my life. As a first-time mom and a 40-year-old classified as a "geriatric pregnancy," many of my interactions with the medical community were filled with alarming statistics about the safety of my baby. It was difficult to not be afraid, but Kelsey's deep range of experience, steady hand and loving approach took the fear out of my pregnancy. On the day of my birth, Kelsey was at our side every step of the way and faciliated a very natural, beautiful birth even within a hospital setting. I will be forever grateful to Kelsey for helping welcome my daughter into this world in a way that felt empowering and beautiful. Besides the birth, Kelsey was always there to help over text and call with concerns small and large - she is amazing, knowledgeable and compassionate. I couldn't recommend Kelsey more highly as a Doula, she is truly unique and gifted in her work.

It was so great having Kelsey as part of our birth team! Having had a traumatic birth with our first child it was so nice to have Kelsey to talk to in preparation for our second. She was always there to help us with questions or concerns pre and post partum.

In the end we had a beautiful healing homebirth with her help and guidance and couldn't be more grateful.

Highly recommend Kelsey

My partner and I chose Kelsey to be our doula for the birth of our first child.  We were looking for a doula who would be supportive of our choices during and after the birth and to provide as much support as we needed - given that this was a hard fought pregnancy with the attendant anxieties.

Kelsey was all of the above.  She supported us as our thinking evolved from wanting a hospital birth to a home birth.  She was quick to offer support and visits, even when they were above and beyond her birth package.  And her spinning babies techniques were what finally started active labour after several days of labour that would start and stop at night.

Of course the most important thing was that she was there, when we needed her, when I stopped being able to manage contractions on my own, helping with pain relief and offering suggestions to keep my labour progressing naturally - knowing that I did not want to have any medical interventions.  Her support got me to transition before our midwife arrived, and I'm convinced was a significant contributor to us having a beautiful, and entirely manageable home birth.  I would recommend Kelsey to anyone looking for a supportive doula to help you through pregnancy and child birth.

I was on the fence about working with a doula but when the hospital policy at BC Women's changed due to COVID-19 I quickly realized that hiring a doula was a major necessity for my husband and I. Even though we met Kelsey pretty late into my pregnancy (I think I was about 33 or 34 weeks) we instantly connected as we talked about birth stories and experiences. I realized that Kelsey would be someone I could completely trust to advocate for my wants/needs during labour and delivery. In the weeks and days leading up to my due date, Kelsey was always there when I felt like I needed her the the most with reassuring support. One of the things I appreciate about Kelsey the most is how she involved my husband by teaching him ways to ease my discomfort and taking the time to talk with him as well and bringing him in for a front row seat of our daughter being born.

Even though this was my second pregnancy and I knew what to expect, for the most part, it was an amazing experience having Kelsey be a reliable source of information, comfort and sometimes even a good laugh. Kelsey, being a mom herself, I felt like there was no question or topic that was stupid or off bounds and so I could be as open and honest with the things that concerned me. All in all, I feel like I hired a doula and ended up with a friend guiding me through the last weeks of pregnancy, then labour and then life postpartum. My only regret is not reaching to her sooner so give her call today and I hope you enjoy working with her as much I did.

Kelsey is an amazing doula and all-around wonderful person to hang out with. She immediately made my husband and I feel comfortable with her easy-going and warm presence, and she was essential to our super positive birth experience. Kelsey has all the knowledge and tips and practical experience and ideas, and she helps create a calm and empowering environment, even in a hospital room. I'm so thankful we got to meet her and work with her, and we'll always remember her as another wonderful part of our daughter's birth.

Hey guys. I'm writing today about my experience with Kelsey. I have nothing but good things to say. Hiring her was the best decision. She was very supportive when it came to the birthing of our baby and she was very open to different ways to make the birth go nice and smooth. My goal was to go with a natural nonmedicated birth and she supported us all the way through our choice. She was squeezing my hips for almost 8 hours, and suggesting different positions. Even my midwife was impressed with her and asked for her contact info to recommend to her clients. Overall a great experience and would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a doula.

I highly suggest Kelsey as your doula for your birth she is amazing. I had Kelsey as my doula in 2019 she is an amazing person to work with she is such a kind person and very easy to get along with. When I became pregnant I was so worried for the birth as I have past medical conditions and I had just become a widow, I was scared to do it alone I knew I needed as much support possible. I had met with many other doulas prior and I just felt a better connection with her. She made me feel extremely comfortable prior to my birth with our prebirth talk sessions just learning all of my options for birthing, medication, positions, what to bring to the hospital etc. It all really helped me and when the day came she met me at the hospital immediately. She didn't leave my side the entire time, she was so supportive for myself and my other family members who were present she gave so much information on what was going on and just to stay calm. She kept me focused on breathing had music on the room was really calm for me. We talked prior of how I wanted the room to be and and she went above and beyond to make it relaxing and calm.  Everything couldn't have gone more perfect, she helped me so much preparing mentally for my birth and when the time came she helped me so much physically and emotionally. I couldn't thank her enough she is amazing at what she does.

Hiring Kelsey as our postpartum doula has been one of the best decisions we've ever made. The moment we met Kelsey, we had a great feeling about her - she was warm, friendly, and very focused on how she could best help us. She's been able to assist with everything from breastfeeding, getting our little one to sleep, housework, baking tasty treats, and providing a level of emotional support that has been nothing short of amazing. She has always made herself available for any questions we might have, and her knowledge base is incredible - she always has helpful information and suggestions. We cannot recommend her highly enough. If you hire Kelsey, it'll be like adding another member to your family!

The moment I saw Kelsey, right away I felt very comfortable and warm around her. It was like meeting my sister. Kelsey has very kind, cheerful and outgoing personality. She is the person with whom you feel free to discuss and share any intimate stuff that may worry you about your labor. She was very responsive to all my questions, calls and sms before and after the labor. Kelsey was very supportive during my labor and did all she could to help me. I had very tough delivery and eventually it ended up with C section, but even though she tried her best to be next to me and support me and my family. She was also very compassionate and supportive when decision about C cection was made. I would definitely recommend Kelsey as your doula.

I hired Kelsey as my postpartum doula from late December 2019 till February 2020. Kelsey helped me with an unexpected hospital stay, taking care of my newborn, urgent baby product and grocery shopping, baby sitting my seven-year old, and some house cleaning. She was able to do everything super well. My Mom loved her cleaning. She was quick and thorough. My seven-year old liked to chat with her, and always asked me when Kelsey's next visit would be. For me and the newborn, she helped more than I could have expected. I had an unexpected surgery due to an Epidura side effect, and she stayed with me during my darkest time. My newborn has a degree one heart murmur and thrush. Kelsey gave me necessary information/education way before I could consult with a pediatrician about these problems. I still contact her for help if I need to take my baby for medical appointments.

Kelsey also surprised me with her understanding about other cultures and her eagerness to learn more. We thought about hiring a Chinese confinement nanny before I hired Kelsey, and later both my Mom and I felt hiring Kelsey was one of the best decisions that we made regarding my birth plan. Chinese confinement nannies only take care of the mom and newborn, and they usually want to do things in their own ways. Kelsey could do so much more, and she is willing to adjust to our style and requests.

Kelsey is also very responsible for her own health and her customers'. She recommended our family to take flu shots November 2019. Now looking back on May 3rd 2020 during this COVID19 pandemic, we are even more thankful that we took the shots, as we have lower chances to get flu which has similar symptoms as COVID19. Kelsey also let me know well in advance if she needs to cancel an appointment due to snow conditions or illnesses, so that I can make alternative plans immediately.

Overall, I highly recommend Kelsey as a postpartum doula.

I didn't start looking for a doula until I was 38 weeks pregnant. The first time my husband and I met Kelsey, we knew she must be the doula for my birth. She has this calm vibe I was looking for and her way of communication made me very comfortable of bringing her into my support group. In fact, I was right, Kelsey has been an AMAZING doula for my birth and postpartum.

It was my first child and I was really nervous. Kelsey was there for me every time I texted her with simple little concerns. She always calms me down and provided me with various ways to relax. Her prenatal visit was very thorough and she was well prepared with books. diagrams, images, and handouts. Even though we went to a prenatal class, her visit reassured us.

For the entire labour, Kelsey was there with me for almost 24 hours. She was so supportive to any of my decisions but also provided me with the best solution according to her experience. She was prepared with various pain relieve equipments and she didn't just massage me while I was having contraction, but also encouraged me and soothed me with words and confirmations.  When I started pushing, she was the one leading the countdown for me and encouraged me to change positions. Her support made me stronger!

We even appreciate Kelsey more for her postpartum support. I had an infection after labour and Kelsey was on call 24/7 when we needed her to take care of my child. She was trustworthy, honest, humble, and experienced with a big warm heart. We love her so much and highly recommend her if you are looking for a doula!
