When I found out I was pregnant, I was terrified. Excited. But scared. I had lost our first pregnancy and I was nervous to be too excited. Then I met Rachel. I interviewed multiple doulas and Rachel stood out among the amazing women who applied. She is sweet, down to earth, kind, as well as being take-charge, and confident. I knew right away that I wanted her beside me in that delivery room. Since it was early 2021, we weren’t sure what to expect in terms of Covid restrictions, so Rachel came to our house multiple times to make sure we knew what to do. Fortunately, she was able to join us and hallelujah! I labored at home for over 12 hours and then Rachel met us at the hospital. Labor was intense and crazy but I was never afraid because I knew Rachel had my back (and my front lol). She was not only a god-send in the delivery room, but postpartum, she was amazing. Rachel was always emotionally there for me and she has so many excellent skills. When I was having trouble with breastfeeding, she made me feel at ease and constantly assured me that we were on the right track. She never gave me the opportunity to freak out because she was always right there, holding my hand. When I was told the baby had an aversion to dairy, she dove right in and made me food weeks (oh my gosh she’s an incredible cook) and got me snacks for the nursery! There are still days when I need some advice or some reassurance and Rachel is there for me. I don’t know what I would have done without Rachel and I’m so happy that I took the chance and hired her. I truly love Rachel and am so grateful for her wisdom and support.
