I had the pleasure of having Mariah as my doula for my third birth. She definitely taught my fiancé and I a lot during this pregnancy. She is very knowledgeable and made us feel very comfortable. I really appreciated being able to turn to her for support and anytime I needed it she was there. I had my first natural birth and this was also my first time breastfeeding. I definitely could not have and would not have been able to do it without her! Thank you for everything Mariah!!!
I recently attended a class taught by Mariah to discuss the importance of the 4th trimester. Even though I've already went through it once, there was so much I did not know about a postpartum plan. This is something every mom should know and learn. We also discussed breastfeeding, baby-wearing etc. I also met some great moms and learned different ways to cope/heal after delivery. To know that you don't have to go through these things alone is such a big relief. If you haven't had a doula, and plan on having another baby, I definitely recommend Mariah. There's so much to learn and she makes sure she educates her clients ♥?
Mariah taught a very essential and amazing 4th trimester course. First, being engaged with me and having a calming tone is needed when I am in a learning type environment and Mariah exceeded that with no hesitation. Her presentation was very informative and smooth. If she was nervous I would not have known! Also, though I am not in my 4th trimester, yet. Mariah included other guests that helped shaped my thoughts into something more positive. Mariah was uplifting, honest, and real during this course, and I would definitely attend more offered courses. Thank you Mariah for everything so far, you are truly a God's gift!
Mariah, a skilled doula empowered me during my first pregnancy. To communicate her needs and perceptions and actualize my birth plan of a healthy, positive birth experience. Her constant presence throughout my pregnancy and labor was simply amazing. Providing specific labor support techniques and strategies, encouraging me with her methods to have a natural birth plan possible. A healthy pregnancy , safe labor , safe delivery, that’s what she stood for. She provided emotional and physical support to me and my family non-stop, during my pregnancy and childbirth. Depending on my needs, Mariah was there every step of the way. Answers to any of my questions and concerns, she presented facts. Grateful for the communication with my doula throughout my pregnancy, even when my birth didn’t fall through as planned due to emergencies, she asked me constantly, “are you sure”, “stand your ground”, it’s okay if you want to do that”. She told me I did an amazing job even though I scared her a little trying to be a strong warrior but the outcome was beautiful. I love my daughter unconditionally, she’s so perfect. Thank you for being apart of my birthing experience. Everything you taught and instilled in me, I’m highly grateful for. fallyn and I appreciate you more than you know. You constantly check up on us to see how we’re doing and ask do we need anything. Mariah goes far beyond her title as a birth/postpartum doula and that’s what makes her perfect for her role, we love our doula.
Mariah is the best at what she does. I used Mariah for virtual services during my entire pregnancy. I knew in order to successfully have a natural labor and delivery I needed to form a birthing team that understood my desires. Mariah was the perfect fit. She was extremely knowledgeable of the woman's body and what our bodies are capable of doing. Any issues I had throughout my pregnancy she delivered recommendations, from hip pain relief, nerve relief, you name it, she had the answer AND IT WORKED. Even though Mariah delivered virtual services for me and my husband it felt like she was absolutely in the delivery room. By the time I delivered my baby boy I know, UNDERSTOOD (knowledge is key), and remembered all of the practices and terms Mariah taught me. I was able to labor for 17 hrs and push for 2 hours NATURALLY thanks to the teachings of Mariah. I would not have been able to do it without her at all. I'm so thankful to hear she's opened her services up for travel. She will be our doula for our second baby, and I'm excited to have her in person in Atlanta! Mariah you are a gem, your passion for safely supporting parents into meeting their little ones is absolute best. Thank you for your efforts. The world needs more people like you!
Me and my husband were able to do our childbirth education classes with Mariah and we absolutely loved it! I was a little hesitant to take the course at first just because I am a doula myself and wanted to ensure that we covered everything in detailed for the sake of my husband and she definitely exceeded my expectations! She was flexible and able to work with our crazy schedules and she felt like family from the moment I met her!! She made the information relatable and entertaining for the sake of my husband and even made me realize I needed to focus a little more on my postpartum plan which I am so grateful for! I would definitely recommend her childbirth education classes to anyone preparing for birth! Thank you Mariah!
Mariah, thank you for EVERYTHING! You are a phenomenal woman. You are definitely working in YOUR field as a doula. My family and I were very pleased with the services you provided. We were extremely happy to find out that we could afford you at the beginning. We feel like we underpaid for the kind of service we received. You were so professional throughout the whole journey, yet we feel like we became friends too. Our birth experience with Mariah was enjoyable. Your ongoing physical support, emotional support, and educational support was and is appreciated. With your help and guidance we feel like we had the healthiest pregnancy and birth experience possible. For that we are truly grateful that we hired you. Thanks a bunch.
I had the pleasure of meeting Mariah, several months before giving birth. I has questions about everything. What is a doula? What services do you offer, The benefits of breastfeeding, I just has a lot of unanswered questions. She introduced herself and then explained in detail about the difference services that she had to offer. She was very informative, answered all my questions. As well as sent me home with education, which included patients rights. I had to have a c-section but I knew I wanted to breastfeed. I explained to her that I had had a myomectomy (fibroid removal as well as previous breast reduction) she was able to put my mind at ease, I was simply terrified all over again, but with her help, I was able to look at things differently. I wasn't producing any milk when I tried the breastfeeding journey last year it was very frustrated because I wanted to have the benefits of breastfeeding but has no milk production at all. I had been told that because of my previous breast reduction that I wasn't going to be able to produce any milk and that I should just supplement. I was devastated. With the help of Mariah, I was able breastfeed this time around with no problem. I came home yesterday (10/31) I was able to find a position that was comfortable for me and my daughter (6lbs. 2 oz), I was able to produce 10 mls of milk. I'm still going strong, my volume of milk increases with each pumping session. To me, knowing that she is only a phone call away, if I needed anything, or even needed someone to talk to, was simply enough for me. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is expecting. I've never seen anyone so passionate about her work. That was one of the best decisions that I've ever made.
Mariah is beyond amazing! She was with us through our entire pregnancy and delivery. I’ve always wanted to have a natural delivery and because of her that was possible!!! She is so knowledgeable I learned something new every time we spoke! I would recommend Mariah as a doula over and over again! She’s the best and my family and I are so grateful to have had her apart of our birthing team.
After my miscarriage in 2017, I knew I wanted to be more in tune with my body and this pregnancy. As you know I’m all about supporting small business & sure enough God bless me with Mariah. I have known her for years and she is definitely a woman of many talents. Mariah was my virtual support Doula. She supported me via phone/text however; I didn't have her to attend my birth, but she stayed in contact throughout the process. Just a little back story; she knew I didn’t won’t a c-section because of numerous of reasons(not knocking anybody that wants/had one) but she made sure I was doing my exercises on my birthing ball & everything else I needed to do to make sure I had a vaginal birth.(I succeeded) I hate medicine and didn’t won’t the epidural she said “Sky you know your body if you can tolerate the contractions then I encourage you to not get the epidural.” (Made it 6cm without it I got so distracted I couldn’t tune out the pain anymore). If I would have had her in the room with me this wouldn’t have happened. I also spoke with her about wanting to breastfeed. We all know the benefits of breastfeeding but I didn’t realize how many people really was against it until I spoke about. One thing about Mariah she gone be your biggest cheerleader & educate you on what’s best for you and your baby. She will also let you know ASAP how much formula cost when you wanna give up on breastfeeding?? Let’s just say I’m 5 weeks in & baby Truss is pure liquid gold.I’m not sure how long my body will produce the milk but I do know I wouldn’t have made it this far if it wasn’t for Mariah.
Two kids in, I thought I knew everything there was to know about caring for a baby. However, after the birth of my daughter, I hit a brick wall and reached out to Mariah for postpartum help. She was everything I needed her to be. She came as soon as I reached out and as soon as she entered my home I instantly became calm and relaxed. Her vibe was phenomenal. She assisted with meal prep, bonded with my other kids, and allowed me to just sit and bond with my newborn. She provided me with extremely helpful breastfeeding tips and facts and introduced me to baby wearing, which has been very beneficial especially having two boys. I am forever grateful for her kind demeanor, patience, and serene spirit. She is nothing short of amazing and has all of the qualities that make her a perfect doula.
Mariah was absolutely wonderful. She provided me with so much knowledge on baby “wearing” I was unable to breastfeed but the bonding I’m able to experience with my little one by baby wearing is phenomenal ??. She showed me the proper way to carry her when using fabric as well as a standard baby carrier. I would definitely recommend Doula MariahAlyce to any one that is expecting as well as those with newborns.
When I realized that I wanted to do something totally different with my second pregnancy. I came in contact with Doula Mariah. I didn’t know exactly what a Doula’s role was but after meeting/talking to Mariah a little after my 20th week knew that I wanted her on my team Mariah was very helpful and supportive throughout my whole pregnancy for instance giving advice on stretches to alleviate pregnancy pains, even going as far as making home visits to teach us labor positions that we would be using during labor and even helping us tailor our birthing plan to what we wanted it to be. When it was finally time Mariah made it to the hospital before us. She guided us in using the birthing ball and peanut ball; suggested some of the exercises we learned at home that I definitely didn’t think about while contracting. I had informed my OB of wanting a natural labor at every appointment and declining the option to induce a couple of times in the last weeks but during labor he felt that it wasn’t moving fast enough and ordered staff to start the pitocin even though I had only been at the hospital a little over 1 hr coming in at 6.5 centimeters dilated. She was phenomenal making sure the birth plan was followed and making sure we knew what was being asked(TOLD) of us by staff. Not even 30 minutes later my baby was born unassisted with no actual staff in the room initially. Even after delivery Mariah stayed with us making sure we were happy and comfortable. She came by every day we were in the hospital; and even when we got back to the house. She was a wealth of information and support when it came to the subject of lactation and breastfeeding, which was a task that proved somewhat difficult for me. Mariah by far has made this pregnancy as smooth as it could be and we’re thankful that we were lucky enough to utilize her services.
Mariah is more than an amazing doula! From our first conversation I knew she was going to be an essential member of our birth team! She was always available when I had questions. My growing family and I really benefited from all the knowledge and support she provided. This was our first pregnancy and we both wanted to have an experienced and encouraging coach to help us along the way. In addition, I wanted to complete childbirth naturally with no medication. Mariah was helpful in educating us in what to expect in the weeks leading up to the birth, the childbirth process, breastfeeding and what to expect postpartum. Our son, Levi was born four weeks early at Brookwood Baptist on Wednesday, July 24. Even though Mariah could not physically be there for the birth because I labored quickly, she was very professional in communicating with my mom and nurses. Her suggested laboring positions were extremely helpful. Mariah provided us with the knowledge and tools we needed to make out our birth plan and follow through! Thank you so much Mariah!
I trust Mariah with everything I have. She was with me throughout my pregnancy. She was direct yet gentle with coaching me and she worked well with the hospital staff. Because of a medical condition, I had to have an emergency cesarean section. It was great to have her with me to keep me and my family calm throughout the process.
