Holly was a wonderful Doula and we could not imagine having pulled off a natural birth without her! This was our first birth, and Holly was kind, strong, wise, and comforting throughout the entire process. We would highly recommend Holly to anyone!
You can tell that Holly really loves her job! She was extremely friendly and enthusiastic through the whole process. She also felt like family in a very short amount of time. During my childbirth experience Holly helped to make me feel comfortable, empowered my decision making and was very selfless and supportive. As a nurse with a supportive family, I wasn't completely sure if a doula was necessary but having Holly apart of my experience was invaluable and honestly priceless.
My experience with Holly was really good. This was my first time using a doula and I loved the experience. I had so many questions about being a new mom, breast feeding, and the birthing experience and Holly was so knowledgeable about everything I had asked her. She made me feel comfortable through my birthing experience, and was very positive about everything. I was very nervous with being a new mom but she always sent me positive texts after I was home from the hospital and checked on me daily. She was awesome and she made my experience worth telling others about !!
I got pregnant with Thea when I lived in Talladega, Alabama. When I was twenty-two weeks pregnant the house sold and we decided to move out here to Hoover to get a frsh start. I decided that I was going to go to this baby palooza event.I saw this lady's booth and something told me to walk up to her and start talking to her. That's when everything turned around for me and I met the most amazing person ever my doula, Holly Rusch. She did not once complain about how it was very last minute. She was always so cheerful and supportive of me. During labor I popped my L4 disc out and it digged deep into my sciatic nerve going down my left leg. I struggled with so many things physically and emotionally, but Holly was right there. I cried almost every night because I missed my babies,my husband, and most importantly my life. I finally came back home for a week just to turn around and have back surgery at the age of twenty-one. Holly was like that little voice in your head that told you positive things. She went out of her way just to be there for me. She became my rock to keep me in place, my shoulder to cry on when I felt like there was nothing left, and most importantly she became a true friend. She does an amazing job being a doula because she actually cares for you. She pushes you to become the best version of yourself. She wants what is best for you and she wants you to be able to have the delivery that you want. Holly tried to push me through having natural birth because she knew how impaortant it was to me especially since Thea would be the last baby I was had. She still supported me when I got an epidural though. If you end up getting Holly as a doula just know you will feel like you found your long lost best friend and that you are in great hands when it comes to you and your precious angel you are carrying. P.S.- She knows exactly what to do to relax you when you go into labor. Those massages are great!
My experience with Holly was nothing short of amazing. I was Holly's first birth as a doula. This was my second birth, but the first one successfully unmedicated. The first time I spoke to Holly I just knew she was the perfect doula for me. Holly is such a bright light of kindness and her joy just radiates and without her I don't know how my husband and I would have ever gotten through my labor and delivery. Holly's personal experience really gave me confidence in her and then when I met her it was just solidified. It felt as if she was my long time best friend and I knew to reach our birth goals we needed her by mine and my husband's sides. I cannot thank Holly enough for her wisdom and gentle guidance and her presence and all her quick-witted techniques to get me through the hardest parts of labor and I can not recommend her enough! She's so respectful and supportive of a mother's birth plan whatever that may be. She will always be my doula and I hope I never have to birth without her again!
This was my 4th csection but first experience with a doula. It was absolutely worth it! I have had two traumatic births in the past and needed extra support this time around. This birth went very smoothly and I felt Holly was there for me every step of the way. When family members in the room didn't quite know what to do, Holly did. Not only that but Holly is a big ray of sunshine no matter what the situation is! Her optimism and her sense of humor really helped put me at ease before surgery. I started having a lot of anxiety toward the end of my pregnancy and Holly did a great job of calming my nerves and reassuring me. I highly recommend her services and will definitely use her for future births!!!
This was my first labor and delivery, and I was so glad that Holly was there. I know that my experience would have been much different had she not been there. Holly helped me navigate the multiple decisions that came along during my labor towards the outcomes that I desired without being overbearing. She was respectful of the medical staff and my family and still helped me to walk out what I desired. She provided practical interventions, experiential knowledge/recommendations and emotional support for both me and my husband throughout the day. Our prenatal visit with Holly was also very helpful, especially for getting me and my husband onto the same page going forward with the birth preferences. She is kind, full of energy and worked hard to help my labor go as much according to plan as possible. We are so thankful she was part of our birth experience.
