Hello families! I am Maya, a certified holistic birth doula and placenta encapsulation specialist, at your service :) Holistic pregnancy and childbirth is something that I have been passionate about since my first medically induced birth. Going into the hospital without a clue as to the types of interventions, procedures or my rights as a birthing person was such a massive mistake! Immediately after my first son was born, I sat feeling so numb. I felt taken advantage of. This led me on a quest to fully educate myself on the rights of birthing women, on what normal birth should look like, what interventions are truly beneficial, and what interventions are done out of pure convenience for the hospital staff. I am proud to have had three more natural hospital births after my first. Home birth is an amazing choice, but unfortunately many insurance carriers do not cover it. I have vast knowledge as to how to navigate the hospital system, and to provide you with a calm and safe birthing experience for your child to be welcomed into the world.

If it wasn't for her gentle presence, I surely would have had a more troublesome birth. I will never forget how cared for I felt. My husband was so glad for her to be around, as well.
