Here is what a client named J. Robinson has to say about working with Mia:

I started working with Mia during my third trimester and with my second. From the consultation I knew I wanted her energy with me every step of the way. She was and still is (I am on pregnancy #3 currently) attentive, kind and absolute joy. She was my doula for six months, helping me not only bring my little guy into this world but also getting him sleep trained and switched over to solid foods. Honestly, I don't think I could have asked for a better doula. Can't wait to see how she shows up for me with this pregnancy also!

Here is what a client named Irfan Choudhry has to say about working with Shannon:

My wife introduced me to Shannon. Learning that she was a Muslim doula gave me the confidence that she would understand our values. I then talked to Shannon myself to express my hesitations and our expectations. She listened and acknowledged what we wanted from the birthing process. She explained what she does, seeking our input and helping us feel comfortable with her service. We then met for our 1st official meeting where she proposed a birth plan, including our wishes and desires on how we would like to approach the birth.  My wife went into early labor within a few days. I had just gotten home from my overnight shift at the hospital and couldn’t make it to the hospital. Shannon was by my wife’s side in no time. When I showed up I was met with a soothing melody of Quranic verses playing on the portable speaker next to my wife’s bed. The lights were dim and flowers were abundant. It seemed like Shannon had manifested a soothing experience in the hospital room! I met Shannon by my wife’s side helping her use the birth and peanut balls in the room. She massaged her back and walked with her to and from the bathroom. My wife had a strong contraction while in the bathroom and Shannon was there helping her through it. She advocated for us when the doctors were making haste decisions and made sure that we understood what was happening so that we could make informed decisions. Even as a physician, I was not in the right head space at the time to think clearly but Shannon made sure we understood what was happening. After the delivery, she stayed for a while to help my wife with the latching process and to provide us with some much needed comfort. When she left I realized how much of a helping hand Shannon had been to us. Absolutely worth every penny. Not only did her calm demeanor keep us from getting overwhelmed, her soothing touch towards my wife put her at ease throughout the whole process as well. Will book her for our next delivery!

Here is what a client named Elizabeth has to say about working with Mayra Elisa:

My husband and I had a wonderful experience with Mayra as our doula. We knew we'd need extra support throughout the entire process, but she provided more care and guidance than we could have ever imagined. She was very communicative and checked in often in the weeks leading up to the birth, and she was a great sounding board when we had to start making various Plan Bs and Plan Cs once early labor began.

Once we arrived at the hospital, though, Mayra became an integral part of our labor and delivery experience. I had a very long labor at the hospital, and she was an awesome coach the entire way through--she didn't simply take over, but instead coached my husband the entire time and created a very team-oriented environment while I labored. During very tense moments, including a difficult exchange with a doctor who had poor bedside manner, she was a quiet force, giving my husband the space to be the primary advocate in the room but also talking through with him all our options based on her deep knowledge and experience. All that, and she stood by my side and opposite him for four long hours of pushing!

We can't thank Mayra enough for her support--she was just the type of person we needed with us through this process and are very grateful for her.
