As Doulas, we accompany women in labor to help ensure a safe and satisfying birth experience. Educated through both Wise Woman Way of Birth Doula Training and Douglas College and Certified through DONA, Doulas of North America, we draw on our knowledge and experience to provide emotional support and physical comfort during your pregnancy, labour and delivery. We can provide reassurance and perspective to you and your partner, make suggestions for labor progress, help with relaxation, massage, positioning and other techniques for comfort. As your Doulas, we are working for you, not your caregiver or hospital. Our Doula Collective contains three birth doulas, as well as two postpartum doulas. We operate using an on-call schedule, similar to that of midwives and obstetricians. This system allows for a well rested doula 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for your birth. We each have a vast array of experience and specialty training which we share among the collective to broaden our overall scope of tricks and tools. I offer breastfeeding phone support for new mothers who may be experiencing breastfeeding challenges. All of our doulas have experience with twins, VBACs, HBACs first time mothers, anxiety and more.

Trisha was an amazing support before, during, and after the birth of our child. Initially, her and the team helped us develop a birth plan and get us thinking/talking about various aspects of things we could encounter during labour/delivery.  My water broke and we went to the hospital, Trisha met us there.  I'm positive she changed the entire course of our experience with labour/delivery. The hospital staff almost sent us home when I had not progressed enough, and also discussed possibly having to send us to a different hospital. Trisha knew exactly what to do to encourage myself and my husband and how to get the labout moving in the right direction. By the time the midwife returned I had progressed enough that they couldn't send us anywhere. If Trish hadn't suggested what she did, I'm convinced we wouldn't have given birth there that day. Trisha relayed all the information to us from the medical team as the labour progressed and we moved in to delivery and a few complications. She made sure we heard what the medical team was saying and that we had a chance to respond to their proposed actions.  Trisha also provided some great support to my husband, suggestions about what he could do to assist me during the process. After birth she worked with me and my husband to ensure our baby got a good latch. Since being home with our little one Trish has continued to be an excellent resource. Anytime we have a question Trish is happy to provide some input and resources when needed. The follow up at home was also super helpful post birth. She observed our baby latching and recommended some slight changes to improve the latch. I couldn't recommed Trisha enough, hands down we would hope to have her as our doula if we have another child!

So grateful to have had Trisha with me for my baby's birth. Prelabour, I felt educated, prepared and ready for labour from the meetings we had going over everything I might encounter during labour, and  discussing where my comfort level was for all birthing options. During labour she helped me realize my goal of not taking epidural or heavy pain meds. She made sure I had everything I needed to be comfortable and reassured me through the hole process. Finally, I enjoyed and benefitted from Trisha's knowledge and tips post partum. It made me feel empowered and optimistic about my new future life with a baby. She has great experience from being a mom and duala and would be a great addition to any baby team. :)

My partner and I met Trisha after a very long week of multiple inductions that were unable to start labour. I was exhausted and at my breaking point. I made the choice to have a c section. Trisha came in to meet us with zero judgement, an open ear and heart to what had happened throughout the week. Even though I didn't have the birth I had hoped for, she went through my birth intentions and ensured that I could still have my wishes met where applicable. She walked us through what to expect during the c section and after and was able to answer all the questions we had. The part that I appreciated most was after everything was discussed and I felt heard and that my needs were met, she just sat and chatted with us about life while we anxiously waited for my surgery time. It brought such a lighthearted energy into what was a long week.

After my c section I was extremely sick for hours. She waited in our room while I was in recovery until we got up there. She helped the medical team transfer me into the bed, ensured my partner was okay and emotionally tucked us in for the night promising to be back in the morning.

Even though we only had a fairly breif interaction throughout my birth experience, Trisha immediately felt like a friend. I felt heard, understood and cared for. We hope to have her attend another birth in the future!

Trisha was great. Having her knowledge present was invaluable in our birth process. Her judgement was crucial in knowing where we were at with the baby arrival; a key part which we would have been lost on without her. We had a home birth that moved to the hospital and having her as that extra support was crucial for that transition. She even went the extra mile with cleanup. So thankful we had her present.

Trisha went above and beyond to help make our transition from a family of three to a family of four go smoothly - in the middle of a pandemic with none of our family close by.

Trisha’s genuine, supportive and non-judgemental approach steered us calmly through a very, very stressful time. She was proactive and forward thinking from the outset in the prenatal phase right through postpartum support.

Trisha is great with children and babies, both of our children love her, she’s very knowledgeable, and is a fantastic Doula.

We can’t recommend Trisha enough. She made our life so much easier this time around that we wish we could have had her there for our first born too!

Well , what can I say. She was amazing and I don't know what I would have been like without her the first couple months of my 4th baby Tallulahs life. I hade a birthing doula with my 3rd baby and was able to access a grant because I have Indian anesestry. This time I had to have a plan c section and could access the grant again. I was told I could have a postpartum doula. Trisha was placed with us and she was great when I met her and helped in whatever way she could . Ways I didn't even know. Just her support , a ear to listen , a person with advice . She was truly helpful with the baby , I got to have some much needed sleep . I have 4 kids 5 including my partner . She helped clean up kitchen, tidy the toys, did laundry and folded , helped with the other kids . I truly can't speak highly enough.  I appreciated the time and wish I could have her always. I would recommend trisha in a heartbeat. Doulas are truly worth it . Thanks so much

we hired Trish to help us with night time services because my husband and I were getting no sleep with our newborn. Trish immediately fit right in, she's so sweet, her demenour just puts you as ease (which is so good for a first time mom). I look forward to her coming every week and Remy does so well with her too! I would recommend her to anyone :)

We really enjoyed having Trisha as our doula. She was straight forward, funny, and knowledgeable. She was coolheaded when we had to switch hospitals and helped keep us calm. She made sure my husband was eating and joked with him to keep him at ease as well. We would highly recommend her.

I was looking for some extra support as my partner had to go back to work within a week of us having our second child.  As I had a planned C-Section due to a complicated pregnancy, a 2 year old at the time, 3 pets to look after and a household to run, needing extra help was an understatement.

The first time I met Trisha for an interview, she was so engaging with my little one, that I knew I had found the right person for the job.  She immediately put me at ease with all of my questions and concerns having three kids of her own and pets too.

Not only did I feel comfortable having her there for our family but she was so helpful in her knowledge and resources.  On top of that she assisted in cooking, cleaning, running errands, laundry, walking our dog and childminding.  All of this allowed me the chance to focus on breast feeding our new born, which I struggled with but she was supportive in whatever way she could.  It also gave me the chance to have more quality time with both of my girls and allowed me to get the rest I required to heal.

It was a blessing to have had her support and even more to have found someone like Trisha, who came with plenty of her own personal life experiences.  I can't imagine how I would have managed through that first period of transition without her aid, expertise and guidance.

We are so thankful to have had Trisha as our postpartum doula! She is competent, kind, and wise. I had a difficult recovery due to postpartum complications, and I am not sure how I could have survived without Trisha! She is great with babies; our son absolutely adored her. We were so blessed with her helpfulness in a practical sense - caring for our son at home, watching him in the waiting room during my appointments, making us delicious food, and keeping our house in order. More than that, she was a wonderful emotional support and excellent listener, which was invaluable for me as a first-time mom. Motherhood comes with a steep learning curve, and she offered advice and expertise when requested, but more importantly, she instilled confidence in me in trusting that I was the best mom for our son. We highly recommend her.

Trisha came and helped our family with our son when he was 4 weeks old. She was so calm and gentle with him I felt completely comfortable right away. She shared the knowledge she has accumulated over years as a mother and all the families she has helped along the way. I really appreciated the insight and the company at such a tender time in my life. I highly recommend her services. :)
