Anna is truly a heaven send! I could NOT have gotten though my last birthing experience without her! She was there for my emotional and physical needs. I felt supported and cared for throughout the entire experience. She made me feel empowered like I could do it when I wanted to give up. I HIGHLY recommend her to anyone having a baby. She is an Amazing Doula and her knowledge is extensive. Thank you Anna for Everything!
Anna was absolutely amazing! There aren't words to describe how much she means to us. Being a first time mom, I didn't know what to expect. I wanted to have a natural birth and labor at home for as long as possible. I honestly don't think those things would have happened without Anna by my side. In the months leading up to labor and delivery, she helped me to become educated about my body and the birth process, and to eliminate my fears about childbirth. By the time my water broke and contractions started, I was calm and confident! I was even excited about the birth process itself! She helped me get into the mindset that it's just another endurance challenge, like many of the races and runs I've done before. Her demeanor facilitated a calm and controlled atmosphere. As I progressed through my 14 hours of labor and the pain became more intense, she helped me stay focused and calm. The few times I started to spiral it only took a loving touch and a few words from Anna to bring me back to reality and the truth that I could do it. Throughout the whole process, she stayed strong and energized. I don't know how she did it, but she was somehow there for every contraction comforting me, providing counterpressure, taking pictures and coaching my husband and mom on how to support me. She was an indispensible member of my birth team. I absolutely will use her services again during future pregnancies!
Anna was exactly who we needed in order to have a dream labor and delivery. She was educated in so many different areas and thus educated us when things arose that we did not know how or what to decide. For example the nurse was insistent that I get hooked up to an IV even though my birth plan consisted of an un-medicated delivery. Anna explained it was still my choice as Florida statute did not require this. Without her I would have assumed it was something required thus giving in to the persistent nurse and straying from my birth plan. She helped my husband help me and made him feel like interactive. My husband stated that without Anna he would have felt useless just watching me go through labor. Instead we went through it somewhat together and my husband was able to be very involved. Also she kept our family up to date on all the details and took pictures of the ordeal that I deeply treasure. Our first baby's birth could not have gone better. We are so blessed to have had Anna with us during such a special time for our family.
Where do I begin: My husband and I met Anna at our birth class when we were about 30weeks pregnant. We were new to the area, recently moved to Tavares from California, and so finding a provider was a struggle. We settled on an OBGYN and hospital birth because we were so late in the game and felt we had no choice. Then we met Anna at our birthing class and my husband immediately became more comfortable and interested in my want for a natural water birth. From the minute we met Anna, we knew she was the perfect doula. Whether we had a hospital or birth center birth, we knew we wanted her to be our support system during our pregnancy and labor/delivery. She was so calm, kind, helpful, and knowledgeable. She told us about Heart 2 Heart birth center and helped us switch last minute to a birth center birth which resulted in the labor/delivery of our dreams. Everything about my labor and delivery was perfect and I owe lots of that to Anna. She read my body language perfectly and knew my birth plan like the back of her hand. This made my labor so relaxing. I didn’t have to say a word and could focus on my one job- having a healthy baby.
I would recommend a doula and specifically Anna over and over again regardless of your birth location. She is the support and calmness you want during the most important time of your life. If you want a perfect, memorable birth, Anna is for you. Also know that even by changing your plans last minute, the perfect birth experience is still possible and Anna will help you along the way. Nothing more empowering than women helping women see their true, undeniable strength. Coming from a medical professional- I would still choose my natural hospital free birth 1000x over!
Finding Anna was truly a blessing. During our initial phone call, I immediately felt comfortable and knew my baby and I were in good hands. Anna is knowledgeable, personable, reliable, and offers unwavering compassion and support. She empowered me to dig deep and create my own unique birth plan.
Anna understands the birthing experience. She’s been there herself, in addition to having vast knowledge of various techniques and resources. Anna was always available to answer my questions and share valuable tidbits with me.
When I called her in labor at 3 am, Anna kept me calm and helped me work through my birth plan. She met me at the hospital and didn’t leave my side. Anna physically and emotionally coached me through difficult contractions, comforted me when my water broke, and held my hand in the OR after it was determined I would need an emergency c-section. Her grace and strength calmed me during the chaos. Her presence was not only a gift for me, but for my family.
Anna stayed with me for several hours after my c-section to make sure I was okay, and repeatedly checked in during postpartum to see how me and my baby were doing.
Anna was born to be a doula. Her heart is woven into her work and she truly loves what she does. Anna’s passion and kindness are remarkable. Despite my delivery not going as I had planned, I can genuinely say Anna transformed my birthing experience.
Anna was our sibling doula during the birth of our youngest daughter Bella ( who is now 1 month old) Taking care of our 4yr old daughter Danika and our 2yr old son Romeo at the birth center during my labor and delivery. As soon as she knew I was in labor she met us in route and accompanied us to the birth center. When we arrived she took over with my little ones treating them like family, she provided kind loving compassionate attentive care to my babies. Not only that she was a COMFORTING force, which during labor is so crucial to siblings as well!! This was not an easy job, my son Romeo is a mommy's boy and can be very difficult to handle, but she was so gentle nurturing patient and understanding that he actually fell asleep on her shoulder!!! As soon as our baby was earth side she brought in my her big brother and sister and even took took the first picture of our new family when Bella was less than an hour old. Our Family is forever grateful to her and I would strongly recommend her to any family or expectant mother. Even after my birth she has been there for me with kind words of encouragement and knowledgeable support during our breast feeding journey. This woman is such a blessing!! The birth of a child is one the most beautiful amazing times in a womans life and having Anna as a doula makes it such a harmonious experience she's amazing ??
I've known about doulas for quite some time, but previously had never felt the need to have one assist me through my first 2 births - I thought my medical team and husband would be more than enough support. I was curious to see if having a doula at my third birth would make any difference. A part of me was a little worried that I wouldn't need her there at all and that there wouldn't be anything for her to do. I had epidurals during my first 2 deliveries and fully anticipated that I would have another epidural with my third. Meeting with Anna, I was pleasantly surprised to find that there were actually several ways she could help during a planned medicated birth.
Because I planned to labor for as long as possible at home, Anna came to my house and supported me there during early labor. I was in no hurry to get to the hospital, considering that my previous labors had lasted 25 hours and 14 hours, but a few hours after my contractions started Anna encouraged me to make the choice to make the trip to the hospital. I'm so glad I listened to her! My baby was born within 2 hours of arriving at the hospital and within 45 minutes of entering the labor and delivery room, even though I was only dilated to 6cm at that point. The epidural I had planned on didn't happen because there simply wasn't time for it to happen. This was NOT the delivery my husband and I had expected! Throughout the experience Anna was a constant and calm presence. She did such a wonderful job of helping me relax through labor pains as well as helping my husband effectively help and participate with confidence. This was a pretty big deal because my husband has expressed many times that he has felt completely helpless during our other deliveries.
Her encouragement and assistance throughout labor made so much more of a difference than I ever could have imagined and I am so grateful that she was part of our very memorable birth experience!
Anna was my Doula for my 6th child. I had never considered having a doula in the past. The idea sounded nice but I wasn’t sure how much I would need her. My husband wasn’t too sure if he wanted another person in the room. But he agreed because I wanted to give it a try.
My previous delivery was very quick. I figured I could do an unmedicated delivery like my last because it was so short. No big deal. Turns out it was my longest labor and my biggest baby. Anna was with my husband and I all through the night and the next morning.
She was my advocate through the whole delivery. She encouraged me and provided comfort when I needed it most. She was always doing everything she could to make me as comfortable as possible. There was a point at the very end where my nurses were distracted and not paying attention to me. Anna notified them that the baby was about to come out. I truly believe that I would not have been able to endure that delivery without her. I wish that she had been present for all my past deliveries. My husband was also very grateful to have had her there with us. We both really had no idea the difference it would make.
Anna was my first doula (my second birth), and I knew from our first meeting that she would be a great help during my labor and delivery. Anna had a lot of varied birth experiences with her own children, and a lot of training and techniques to utilize in labor. I love having my husband with me as emotional support, but as far as understanding childbirth and which things are helpful in various situations - that is not his area of expertise! Having Anna at the birth let my husband focus on me, and relax a little knowing someone else with more technical knowledge was there supporting me too. She was a very calm and reassuring presence during my labor. She stepped back when appropriate and stepped up when I needed her. In everything from getting a chair so my husband could sit right beside me, keeping me company while he grabbed a coffee for the middle of the night labor, and holding my leg while I pushed baby out, Anna was so caring and supportive of us both from prenatal to postpartum. She kept in touch after birth and came to check in on us when we were home. I had a lovely birth experience (natural hospital birth), and I am so grateful for Anna!
