100% recommend Martha as your doula! She was so dedicated, professional, and detail oriented. Martha went above and beyond during the labor/delivery by being so committed and supportive (to both my husband and me), while being relaxed and easy-going through the whole process. I would hire her again in an instant!

I feel I do not have enough space or the words to adequately express how much we loved working with Martha. She was amazing since the day we met her and chose her as our doula. She was full of resources and knowledge and had helpful material and insights for every stage of pregnancy. Even after my daughter was born, she was still there for us for any questions and had a post birth appointment to check on us and give us more information on the newborn stage. Her class included online lessons and her 2 pre-visits at our home were so helpful, I felt so much relief and felt like I was actually prepared and empowered to give birth!
When Martha arrived at the hospital after my husband and I had been there for a substantial amount of time, she came in like a breath of fresh air and totally helped us change the energy. She had so many techniques to help us and she had such a calming and effective presence. I had to make some tough decisions and she was so incredibly supportive. I just kept thinking over and over, "I am so glad she is here with us." I am so thankful Martha was our doula and I would STRONGLY recommend her to anyone who is considering having a spectator doula by their side.

Martha was such an incredible support during a time in the world that was very unpredictable. The pandemic made our hospital and birthing plans change often due to changes in number of support people allowed etc., and Martha rolled with each change with ease and support towards my partner and I. The classes and birth planning support offered in her doula package were so helpful and informative (and this is our second child- so easy to forget everything you once learned).
I will never forget the comfort, support and calm presence she offered us throughout the labor. She provided amazing pain relief with her hands on techniques which aided us in our quick unmedicated delivery of our daughter. When my daughter had unexpected breathing concerns at birth, Martha quickly began to support me by being my eyes and ears on our baby per my request (as my partner was with the baby and NICU team), empathizing with me about how hard this experience had become and reminded me of my strength to continue. We don't know if we could have gone through that trauma without her and the sense of safety she provided our family.
we are forever thankful to her for the amazing work she does and I would recommend her to anyone considering a doula for their birth.

Martha was a magical faerie! She soothed my newborn with ease. Helped tremendously around the house. Constantly kept herself busy (I couldn't keep up with her!). Always punctual and reliable. She was also knowledgeable and helpful at times of uncertainty (is baby eating enough/sleeping ok, etc). I would def receommend her to another expecting mama. My only compliant, is that we couldn't continue her service for a longer period :-) ! She was that good.

(Husband's Account) My previous idea of birth was that I would be smoking my pipe in the waiting room, calmly awaiting the announcement of the birth of my child. My feet would be up and I'd have a good book in my hand; the doctors would take care of everything. What did I know about birth, anyway? Martha (and my wife) informed me that I would be playing a bigger role in the proceedings. She told me up front that she was there to empower me to become a birth partner, and she helped me learn that I had a role to play that was bigger than hers. I learned a great deal about the needs of a pregnant woman, but I also learned a more important lesson; I learned how to communicate with my wife and fulfill her needs.
But in all seriousness, I wanted to have a role in the birth, but I didn't know where to start. We ended up going the natural birth route. Martha's course and her involvement gave us the tools we needed to succeed. Knowledge is power, after all. She put me on a regimen of Penny Simkin and recommended other valuable resources - including sample birth plans - and she was willing to come to our house to walk us through the techniques present in her online course.
She came to the birth center during COVID and was present with us to get my wife water, provide counterpressure, give me tips to improve my assistance to my wife, and get us anything else we needed. We had a 4:00a.m. arrival at the birth center and an 18-hour labor. She was never bossy or in the way, but only supportive. I had such a great time that I was ready to do it again immediately. We will definitely hire Martha again the next time we have a child.

Martha helped equip us for the birth that we hoped to have for our daughter. She empowered my husband and I to work as a team in preparation, during labor, and while recovering. During labor, Martha stayed with us, giving my husband a reprieve as needed. She paid attention to our needs. She was in the thick of things as needed, and in the background when my husband and I wanted to work together. She encouraged us to try different positions when labor slowed and helped us understand our decisions without making them for us. She is knowledgeable and is a great doula. We are grateful that we worked with her.

I can’t say enough wonderful things about Martha! We hired her as a postpartum doula and she has been a phenomenal help over the last few weeks. She has endless patience and is thoughtful enough to bring special toys and activities to keep our older daughter engaged. It has been such a blessing to have Martha hold the baby so I can shower, cook, do some gentle movement, or just enjoy a few minutes of peace. I definitely feel less stressed and less like a zombie after having Martha help us a few days a week. She is incredibly intuitive and takes directions well- when she is around I find we work together quite seamlessly without having to go into lengthy explanations. That alone is a lifesaver for me! I feel incredibly lucky to have found Martha and wish that every woman could have the support and care that I have found, as it really has eased my transition back to everyday life post baby.
Would highly highly recommend!!!!!
