Alisa was an amazing doula! I couldn’t have asked for anyone better!! She was there on such short notice, and she was nothing short of amazing! She was so knowledgeable in all her skills, and confident in everything she was doing. When I needed something she was right there. When I needed pressure applied she did it. I was so sick during labor and between contractions I couldn’t really talk. There were moments I wanted to give up, and she reassured me that I could get through it. She was a voice of reason when the nurses were trying to push me into doing things their way; and when I couldn’t speak up, she totally stood her ground with them. Alisa has such a calm demeanor and a soothing voice that it was really a breath of fresh air between all the craziness labor brings. I delivered prematurely and it was pretty traumatic for me. Alisa has been there for me since and after the birth with questions and concerns I’ve had with PPD. I highly recommend her! Anyone is lucky to have her at their birth! If I were to have another baby Alisa would definitely be the doula for me!

Having Alisa there was a huge help during my labor. She was super helpful with getting breastfeeding started and did a lot of things to help me with the pain. Her photos were beautiful.

As a husband, my wife's health was my paramount concern. I appreciated her having a doula who knew many different ways to alleviate pain, common pregnancy symptoms, and even post-pregnancy issues. Alisa was always responsive and helpful. She was easy to get a hold of and always ready to work. It was especially helpful to have her there during the whole birth process, where she was always there to support us, not trying to tell us what to do. Birth can be a traumatic experience, and what makes it worse is when nurses, doctors, and even midwives can get pushy and forceful. Having a capable, caring doula there was like having an attorney on your legal defense team.

I loved having Alisa for a doula! It was my 6th birth, but I was a surrogate for a friend, so the child wasn’t genetically mine. Even with a midwife, I found Alisa’s help extremely valuable. She helped me to prepare for this new adventure.

She helped me get through pre-labor pains by coming over to my house (even after midnight). Talk about dedication! I even developed high blood pressure (common for surrogates) and had to be induced with pitocin. She comforted me through my concerns about being induced. After hours on pitocin and very little progression, she helped calm my anxiety about breaking my water to progress labor. She gave me confidence that my body was strong and ready for this.

She rallied everyone that we had in the labor and delivery room to help me through the hardest part of the labor. She directed people in helping me get through the transition part of labor. It was a team effort! If she hadn’t been there, I don’t know how I could have been able to manage. It was my hardest birth yet, but it was such an amazing one. It was beautiful to give birth to a healthy baby girl and to personally hand off the baby into her mother’s waiting arms. It was wonderful to have Alisa there to help me in such a beautiful and sacred time of my life. But her help didn’t end there.

A few days after delivery, I ended up getting sick because a placenta piece was still inside of me causing an infection. I had to have a D&C. Alisa helped me emotionally, physically, and mentally get through this tough time.

After my surgery, I had issues with mastitis while pumping. Her knowledge of natural over the counter treatment options allowed me to heal and prevent further infections. I felt like she was going above and beyond her duties as a doula.

If I ever do surrogacy again, I will call her!

I cannot express how grateful I am to Alisa for her help as my doula. I did very little preparation for a pain medication free labor. I told myself the whole pregnancy I could do it if I went into labor by myself, and Alisa would be there to help if I needed it. I went into labor and was admitted to the hospital around 11:00 PM. Alisa was there within half an hour of when I called her. I opted for her photography service as well, and she captured the most tender moments of me and my husband while we waited for our sweet baby to join us. I apparently have a high pain tolerance, and none of the contractions were painful. Once I hit transition was when the pain overwhelmed me, and I had no idea what to do. Alisa was right there. She asked if I wanted to try counter pressure, guided me through the worst of the pain, and caught the most beautiful photos of an incredible experience. I would not have been able to have the labor and delivery I wanted if Alisa hadn’t been there. Her service was exactly what I needed, and I will always have her on my team for every delivery.
