My delivery was an emergency situation so I went very quickly. When I called Tocarra she was right there at the hospital for my post opt care. She was instrumental in keeping me calm and informed during a process that was moving very quickly. Following my emergency c-section I was pretty out of it and having her there to keep communication lines open with my nurses and the NICU where my baby was being held was critical. She was also helpful in explaining the side effects I was having from the drugs and advocating my concerns to my nurses as well. While I would have loved to get the full labor experience with Tocarra I found her presence post opt to be very valuable. 

Toccara met my expectation in every way. As a first time mom navigating pregnancy and preparing for motherhood was often very overwhelming. Having Toccara to guide me through the journey helped ease my anxiety and ease my doubts. I am very happy I got the chance to work with Toccara.

Toccara was an amazing doula. I've experienced previous losses before this pregnancy and COVID-19 had just begun when I decided to find a doula. Toccara made me feel safe to share my experience and anxiety about being pregnant during a pandemic. She is very knowledgeable, she is a great listener and truly makes you feel like a priority. I never knew how many other moms she was working with because she took her time with me during every encounter whether it was; video, text, call or in person. My baby boy attempted to arrive two months early and I was hospitalized twice because of it. She was always available to talk me through the contractions and ease my anxiety. Her review of all the possible labor exercises was very detailed. Having Toccaras' encouragement empowered me through my delivery. Her post partum care has been amazing as well. I was able to rest and know my baby was in great and capable hands.

I never knew what a Doula was or the importance of one until my wife and I decided we wanted to have a baby. Tocarra has been by our side from the day we found out we were expecting and still is in the picture nine weeks after delivery. Our Doula prepared us for pregnancy, labor and delivery, nursing, postpartum and soo much more. When we arrived at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center we called our Doula and she was by our side in no time. We were in labor/trying to induce for four days and Tocarra was their through it all being very encouraging and supportive. The nursing staff was highly impressed with our birthing plan and the different positions our Doula had shown us to help my wife with those big contractions. Our healthy baby girl Riley Madison was born Thanksgivings day November 28, 2019. Tocarra was amongst the first people to hold Riley Madison. We decided to have our Doula encapsulate the placenta to give my wife nutrients back in her body while breastfeeding. That experience seeing the placenta and having it turned to capsules knowing it was created to ensure our baby got oxygen and nutrients was the most beautiful site. I suggest all women take their placenta and have it turned to capsules. Once we left the hospital our doula always check in on new mommy regarding, nursing, latching, emotions, etc. I recommend having a Doula was one of the best decisions in our life. Our doula was experienced, patient, caring, compassionate, knowledgeable. Tocarra was their to help with laboring on the peanut ball when those contractions were rough, she was their during pregnancy ensuring you are eating healthy for our baby, she was their with overbearing grandparents. Doulas are angels sent to help moms during pregnancy, labor and afterwards. We highly recommended you to our fellow military families and all others who are currently trying to conceive or pregnant. Tocarra my family thanks you for all you have done and continue to do for the Moore family.
