Postpartum Doula Experience: 1 years and 12 families served
Clients per Month: 1 to 3Postpartum limits/restrictions: I strive to create a calm, nourishing and (dare I say it) fun environment for new families. I believe that the better your support, the sooner you will be able to hear your inner voice sing, and feel confident that you know exactly what your baby and body are asking of you... This is a gorgeously fluid role that adapts to the day at hand, but some ways I can be of service are: - help with breastfeeding, newborn sleep patterns, healing techniques. -providing a space for you to get protected rest. -navigating the emotional waters of early postpartum with non judgement. - providing resources for matters beyond my scope. -helping with light cleaning. -accompanying you to appointments. -Cooking beautiful vegetarian and vegan dishes
I am the in house Postpartum Doula for a community center in South Brooklyn. I also teach a PP prep/Newborn Care class there.

The first weeks of my postpartum period were some of the best weeks of my life. And I can whole heartedly say that Jenny was a huge part of this. As a postpartum doula myself I had high hopes for what I wanted my postpartum period to be. I wanted to celebrate this transition not just survive it. Looking back I just absolutely loved those first 6 weeks. Prenatally Jenny guided us to make choices and plan accordingly so that we could prepare ourselves for what those first weeks would look like and what we could do to truly enjoy them. After a difficult labor and birth I needed a lot of emotional support to sift through what had happened. Jenny really helped us to begin to process what happened so that we could focus on enjoying our new baby and family. Each day she was here she reminded me of ways that I had planned to care for my self (meditation, baths, etc) and helped create time and space for me to care for myself and be cared for. She cooked beautiful meals for me, gave really helpful guidance through breastfeeding (which we also were struggling with), drew candle lit baths for me (complete with beautifully plated snacks to eat while soaking! They were so beautiful I often took pictures), always left my kitchen gorgeous, and gave me long sessions of foot and shoulder rubs (which really helped to bring me back in my body and ground me). Looking back on all of this I truly felt like a queen! Which was such a wonderful experience given the way those first few weeks can challenge a family. She was so respectful of the way we were choosing to parent that she always made me feel that we were making the right decision. The way she seamlessly maneuvered through all the ways I needed support in a given shift was nothing short of magical. Jenny IS nothing short of magical. I will always look back at those beautiful weeks with such peace and joy in my heart. Thank you Jenny.
Jenny was incredibly supportive, helpful and kind. She came to work with us two days after the birth up until 3 weeks. She helped with everything from breastfeeding, cooking, information on local classes and resources. She had such a calming and warm presence with our baby boy, she knew just how to settle him!
What I really appreciated about Jenny was her focus on my well-being, checking that I was coping with the massive changes I was going through. Her empathy and understanding of the post-partum experience really helped me as I transitioned into motherhood.
I am so glad I decided to work with Jenny after a planned third cesarean birth. As a third-time mother I was unsure I would need the help since I am comfortable around a newborn, but I feel I wouldnt have had a recovery as succesful if it were not for the excellent care I received. Jenny is a listener - she clearly took into consideration my specific needs during a sensitive time for the household. Beyond that she is skilled and knowledgeable in all things newborn, a pleasant and nurturing presence and an excellent cook which was an unexpected treat. Its not easy to have someone else care for your days old newborn -- even long enough to take a nap -- but I found her trustworthy and that is so invaluable.
Jenny was with me from my second week postpartum up until week six and every day with her was wonderful. She made sure that I took time to heal, helped me take care of and bond with my baby, and confront the daunting task of running errands with baby outside when the time came. She also prepared delicious and nourishing meals and snacks that helped me push through the day. Jenny has an in-depth knowledge of all things postbirth including but not limited to newborn care, breastfeeding, reading your baby, and the healing process. She also helped me save a lot of time by researching new situations that would arise that neither of us had dealt with before and helped me apply that knowledge thereafter. Her presence is comforting, reassuring, and positive. I highly recommend Jenny to anyone who needs guidance and support into the journey of motherhood.
Jenny helped me tremendously in so many ways and made my maternity leave a special time in my life!
She brought with her joy and much knowledge, she knew to answer any question and provide information, as well as deal with any given situation with the baby. My baby loves her, and was very calm after her visits.
She is a professional, a quick thinker and quick on her feet, she is always on time and answering timely texts and emails.
She supported me in verious aspects, and I managed to accomplish so much thanks to her!
I am so happy and grateful for meeting Jenny, and for working with her! She is the light and the joy in a very challenging time in my life! I had to care for my newborn by myself, and Jenny made the impossible very possible!
Jenny is a wonderful doula! That magical combination of coach, healer, teacher (and -bonus! - chef)... she came in and brightened everything up. The early postpartum period was a challenge to say the least, and she was able to intuit what my son and I needed even when I couldn’t identify or articulate it. She was able to help with breastfeeding, pumping, meal prep, self-care, newborn care, reading sleep cues (very important), finding local resources and connecting with other new mamas. But, it was her emotional support, positive energy, encouragement and humor that truly stand out.
It doesn’t hurt that she has a young child and can relate to all the new mom feelings with enough distance to offer insight.
And, she’s a clear communicator and scheduling was very easy.
We are so grateful to have worked with Jenny. Do yourself a favor and hire her.
I highly recommend Jenny! Not only is she so warm and loving towards both me and my baby, but she offers so much. She was willing to do anything large or small, from helping me research lactation consultants and organize paperwork, to folding laundry and holding the baby for a couple of hours so I could eat or sleep or shower. She is also a great cook and always made sure I was fed and watered and caffeinated! Another thing I love is that she is always taking classes to advance her knowledge and make her a better resource on things like breastfeeding and sleep.
One of my favorite things about Jenny is how openminded and non judgemental she is, I felt like we could talk about anything and she would give me advice when I asked but not be pushy about her own views or experiences. She was also great about suggesting ways that she could help when I was having trouble thinking of tasks. It was so special having this time with her!
