Andrea was amazing! My birth plan went out the window—developed gestational hypertension at 37 weeks and had to be induced. Andrea was actually our backup doula but performed as if we knew her. She immediately stepped right in and felt like family. She got me through 55 hours of labour, armed with breathing techniques, movement, and keeping me positive. Even though I needed to do all the things I didn’t plan on doing, Andrea was there to inspire me to push through the pain and encourage my questions to the doctors when I was unsure. Most importantly, Andrea supported my wife through a very trying experience. It all ended in an emergency C-section, and was rough, but she stayed by our sides and filled in when my wife needed to go with our baby to the NICU. I highly recommend Andrea to be your doula!

Andrea’s spirit and warmth embodies what a doula should be. Andrea checked in with me regularly throughout my first and second trimester, building a rapport and trust that is necessary and crucial between a mother and her doula during the birth itself. Andrea made home visits around my schedule in the third trimester, and spent time getting to know my partner in his “natural habitat”, which again was appreciated during birth. We all became comfortable working together for this baby!! Andrea was on call starting at 37 weeks, and made herself available to us for questions, support, and information/education. She created a space where we felt informed, supported, and encouraged...and one of the best things was knowing how excited she was WITH us in anticipating baby.

When it comes to my birthing experience, it was a beautiful, respectful, peaceful process thanks to Andrea. My partner  was given direct, hands on support to support ME...something so truly special that likely would not have happened had we not had her. Andrea made my birthing experience something to treasure and remember. We are forever grateful to her, and I wouldn’t do it again without her.

Andrea was a wonderful doula at my niece’s birth. She was so supportive and anticipated all of the mommy’s needs. What a beautiful home birth experience. Thank you, Andrea, for being a part of our blessed day.

Andrea acted as my doula through my entire pregnancy with my son (born March 2012). She was there with me every step of the way: from the day I had a positive pregnancy test, through all my appointments, discomfort, and the duration of my labor and delivery. She was focused, dedicated, sensitive, and competent. I can't imagine having gone through any of it without her! If you have the opportunity to have her walk through this memorable season with you, take it.
