Claudia’s compassion and empathy helped me through some of the most challenging hurdles of my pregnancy and labor. Before I even went into labor, Claudia was supportive in helping me write my birth plan to ensure my birth would have as little intervention as possible in the hospital. When I was two weeks past my due date and thinking I was going to be pregnant forever, Claudia shared with me other women’s online tutorials about being past their due date and still having successful births. She also helped me think through being induced and how I could make induction work with what I wanted from my birth plan.
Her optimism and reassurance helped me face my labor with the confidence I needed. I gave birth in a hospital and had an obstetrician deliver my baby, but I wanted as natural a birth as possible. Claudia advocated for me when I needed and stuck firmly to my birth plan when the hospital wanted to “move things along.” Finally in those last few hours when both me and my husband were exhausted, Claudia supported me through those last few centimeters before I needed to start pushing. My husband was great in helping me feel comfortable; however, I was so grateful to have a doula like Claudia who really understood what I needed and to be there with me in the last hours of labor.
Claudia gave me the support that I needed, but she also reassured me that I already was strong enough. I think her constant reassurance not only helped me in my birth but made finding my path to motherhood much easier and gave me the most natural birth I could have hoped for my baby.

I cannot imagine having gone through giving birth without Claudia. Of the doulas we interviewed, I chose to work with her, because she seemed so non-judgmental and grounded--like she'd be somebody strong enough to push against both physically and emotionally, but also soft enough to be comforting. And she was!! She was an amazing and knowledgeable resource to consult with when things starting going not-according-to-the-plan: I wanted to have a natural birth, but ended up getting induced because of severe and life-threatening pre-eclampsia. I also ended up choosing to get an epidural to increase the likelihood of being able to do a vaginal birth. And between the pre-eclampsia meds, the epidural (which I found awful), and the induction, I was incredibly miserable for the entire ~28 hours of the birth. The only pleasurable part of the whole thing was when Claudia arrived and spent some time petting me--otherwise, every other physical interaction I had with people was painful and unpleasant. I NEEDED that soothing and I would not have gotten it without Claudia being there. I am beyond grateful to have worked with her.

My experience with Claudia could not have been more positive! From the time my husband and I interviewed her, we saw how compassionate she was with all issues involving birth. She was always very accessible and her suggestions insightful, never pushy. Never once did we feel judged for any of our preferences. Her demeanor is very calming, which was of top importance to us in a doula, but at the same time she knew when to be hands on during my labor. I am not a FTM, and this was not my first homebirth, but I found my conversations with Claudia both before and after labor, to be extremely helpful and supportive. She's a great listener. We will be forever grateful for her help. :)

I’m a first time single mother with no real family and there is absolutely no way I could have gotten through my delivery without Claudia. My son was due Apr 24 I went into labor on the 25th at 1am and he was born the 27th. 72 hours of contractions is damn near unbearable and I can’t stress enough how the ONLY reason I didn’t have a full on breakdown was Claudia. She was so calming and reassuring and most importantly patient with me during everything. She is an amazing woman an amazing Doula. I truly believe she was put on this earth to help babies come into the world!
