Stephanie is more than a doula, she's a friend to every mama in need. During Bradley classes she was very knowledgeable on pregnancy and birth  and has all the research. It was very comforting knowing she was going to be helping me through something I'd never done before...labor! I wouldn't have and probably couldn't have done it without her motivation. from the moment she arrive to the hospital she was feeding me ice chips and massaging me. She held me up when I was weak, literally. you need to add her to your birth team even if you already have support!

Giving birth to my daughter naturally and medication-free was far and away one of the most rewarding experience and proudest moment of my life. For that reason and many more I feel so blessed to have had Stephanie as our doula.  She is a remarkable woman and doula.  While we were fortunate to have a supportive medical team and my husband is a great pseudo-doula, there really isn't any doubt that we couldn't have done it without her.  Through our Bradley courses with Stephanie we learned so much about natural childbirth, relaxation, nutrition, etc.  I felt well-prepared.  I also happen to be a physician so felt even more prepared having gone through medical school.  Well, birth turned out to be a lot more intensive than I anticipated!!  From the panic of my water breaking and calling Stephanie several times through the night, to her meeting us at the hospital in the wee hours, and staying through to the early morning hours she was fundamental to our birth going as planned.  She stayed focused on me, brushed my hair, rubbed my back, talked me through contractions, and most importantly kept myself and my husband calm.  Contractions were intense.  Stephanie never left my side, talking and encouraging me through it all.  When I thought I couldn't do it anymore she believed in me and kept me going.  When our daughter was finally born it was the most unbelievable moment of our lives.  My husband and I were changed forever.  Afterwards I asked my husband if he thought we needed a doula again for our next birth.  He laughed and told me just for himself he needs her there again!  She is a blessing to pregnant women and their birthing partners, particularly those who desire a natural childbirth.

I was expecting my first baby and thought I could read everything I could on natural births. I was confident that my husband and I could do it on our own. Boy, was I wrong! Two weeks before my due date I was freaking out! I contacted Stephanie and She came right out to meet me. Stephanie and Her partner Angela gave me the confidence that I knew I had! I was able to have the birth I wanted thanks to them! They aren't just Doulas they truly became my friends and were with me every step of the way! Everytime I think about my baby and her birth I will remember them and that is such a beautiful thing!

We used Stephanie as our doula for our first pregancy and birth. I couldn't speak more highly of Stephanie. She is extremely professional but also the best friend you'll need during birth! She's passionate and educated about natural birth and will encourage and support you throughout your labor.

I labored for over 36 hours, 2 weeks after my due date. Stephanie stayed with me the entire time. I desperately wanted a natural birth, which she helped me prepare for. After 24 hours and no progress, I was crushed. Stephanie gave me words of wisdom I'll never forget "There is more than one right way to have a baby". Her encouragement and support, even when things weren't going well, will never be forgotten.

I am forever grateful for Stephanie. Her presence at the birth of our son was priceless!

Simply put, Stephanie was absolutely integral to the safe and natural delivery of our son.  During my long labor (40+ hours), Stephanie worked seamlessly with my husband to provide the physical and emotional support I needed.  She helped me change positions, encouraged me when I began to doubt myself because of the slow porgress, helped my husband to know how to better support me, provided a buffer between the hospital staff and myself, prayed with me, pinned back my hair just when I needed it, and so much more.  She was respectful of my choices, very informative and educated when asked her opinion, a listening ear, an advocate, a friend, a stronghold, and a warm and kind soul.  What more could one want in a doula?

My name is Leah and I wanted to brag about Stephanie and the help she was during my first birth starting with answering all my many phone calls and concerns, and offering sound advice throught my pregnancy. She brought me a little snack knowing I'd be starving right before delivery. It was Jello which was perfect for she knew I would likely vomit later as well. She encouraged me through the whole process cheering me on and notifing me of every new progress, keeping me calm (as possable,) suggesting positions and even holding my feet so I could have more leverage to push. She mopped my forhead and fed me ice chips. When the baby was out, she helped him latch on to me for the first time (I was so clueless) and gave me pointers on how to nurse. Could I have done it without her? Of course! But it would have been a much less pleasent and far more difficult expereance.

I cannot say enough good things about the support and encouragement that I received from Stephanie throughout my pregnancy and birth! After having a disappointing C-Section with my first I started out my second pregnancy fearful and unsure of how to get the birth that I so deeply desired. I began educating myself about birth, I wanted to do anything and everything that I could this time around to prepare myself for a successful VBAC. I knew that I would need the support of a doula to help me achieve my dream. I hired Stephanie as my doula and Bradley instructor so that I could have the knowledge and support that I would need. She recommended some great books to read in preparation for my daughter's birth. She was supportive and unbiased towards all of the choices that my husband and I made. During labor she kept me calm and focused with positive affirmations. She was gentle and supportive, reminding me to breathe slowly and deeply. She also offered me a cold drink between pushing contractions which was a welcomed relief! Thank you Stephanie for all your support in helping me achieve the vaginal birth that I always knew I could have! Our little family of four was so blessed by the experience of this amazing, peaceful birth! :)

I would never have a baby without a Doula again! My first birth was an intense 16 hour labor with the midwive suggesting medication over and over to give me a "break" and me constantly having to think about an re-prioritize what is important to me and having to yell back at them while stressing out and causing me now to easily progress, it was not peaceful at all. With my second I decided to try Stephanie as my doula and I am beyond grateful for how the experience went! From researching topics for me, giving me suggestions, opening her house to my family, teaching herself about my birthing methods, encouraging me, taking a lot of this-might-be-it calls and then the unmatched physical, emotional, and professional support she offered the entire time of my labor. She knew exactly what I wanted and expected and made sure the hospital staff understood and respected it. It allowed my husband to play the silent role he wanted and empowered me to have the most ideal birth that I could have. Her presence was calm and knowledgeable but strong enough to ensure I recieved MY birth. I cannot emphasize enough how much of a better birth it was with Stephanie supporting me- Thank you again for helping to being Amelia into the world!

You were such a blessing to David and me during Hudson’s birth and I can’t say “Thank you” enough! To say you are a “Mama’s friend” doesn’t adequately describe the role you took during one of the most precious moments of our lives. The passion you have for helping mothers experience joy, fulfillment, and a sense of power during childbirth comes through in all your actions. The little things you did, like knowing when I needed chapstick, getting a cool towel for my neck, and always making sure I had a cold drink, made all the difference in the world. My mother in law commented on how sweet and thoughtful it was that you took the time to brush my hair and pull it back after the birth.
You were also aggressive without being pushy, you helped out in every way imaginable without making me feel like my personal space was being invaded, and you continuously reminded me how strong I was during moments of self doubt. You are well versed on all the ins and outs of what a Mama needs during the different stages of labor; physically and emotionally.
May God bless you and all the Mamas who you will surely be a blessing to in the future!
Thank you,
David and Misty Cornelius

Stephanie was an amazing source of strength for me during my labor and delivery.  She offered not only advice on technique to make the labor process easier, but also offered words of comfort and encouragement.  I did not believe I was strong enough to have a pain-free labor and delivery, but she gave me the strength that I needed!  I would strongly recommend her for anyone considering a doula.  I would have never made it without her!
