Let me start out saying that my husband and I chose to have a all natural birth at a center near our home. We did all the classes, picked a doula and did all the things to have our dream birth but thats not what happened. Our daughter was delivered 48 hours after labor began at our local hospital. The experience we had was still an amazing one and I felt my wishes were still heard and that is because we hired Del. Over the course of my pregnancy I gained a friend, a advocate, and a shoulder to lean on. My husband and I didnt have the birth we dreamed for and worked for but my daughter was delivered in a room filled with prayer and God. I was calm and i knew I had  a person in the room to make sure i was taken care of and supported. If your on the fence about hiring a doula or if your reading through all these reviews I highly suggest taking the leap. No matter how your birth goes you will not be disappointed in hiring Del. She is incredible. Im currently 10PP and want to have another baby just so I have a reason to talk to her.

We are first-time parents and didn't know what to expect in regards to labor, so early on we knew we wanted to have a Doula there to support and guide us thru the experience. Leading up to the due date, it became apparent that our meetings with Del were extremely vaulable. We were learning more from her than in some of the courses we were taking thru our local hospitals - in the comfort of our own living room. She did a great job focusing only on what we felt we needed to but making sure to revisit anything she thought we may benefit from.

During my labor, Del became a noticable bridge between us and the medical staff. She was always watching the babies monitors and explaining what was going on when our baby would get stressed; always watching my face and reading the room in ordrer to offer whatever was needed at the moment - be it a massage, a coffee, a reassuring glance; and she was a consistent support for my husband who needed a confidence boost here and there.

I ended up having a C-section but Del was still there thru it all. She made sure we didn't need to worry about anything but eachother and didn't leave the hospital until we were settled in for our stay. I couldn't imagine the day our son came into the world without her. I would hire Del a million times over if given the choice that many times. :) Should we ever have a #2 - she'll hopefully be right there with us. You can't put a price on peace of mind - and that's what Del was for us!

My friends mentioned that I should look into hire a doula because I don’t have friends and family live close by. At first, I thought it was not necessary. My husband and I are the type who listen to the doctor advices, do our own research, and made decision. We have each other. I was dead wrong!

It was my first pregnancy, so we expected the labor to be 20 +/- hours. After being induce, my labor went super fast…like 5ish hours fast. I lost my focus and felt like I was losing the battle. My husband wanted to help, but he was deer on the headlights. We took classes and he did prepare, but it was still too much for him. Delmari was my guardian angle when she entered our delivery room! She was my focused, helped me breathe, keep me clam, and told my husband what to do.

There are not that many doulas in this area, so I’m glad that we found Delmari. I felt like she was my big sister helping me through the labor. Delmari is a positive person, able to stay clam in a crazy situation, very knowledgeable especially how to get the baby positioned just right prior to labor, funny, and friendly. The doula I was dreaming for!

My husband and I were so thankful having her there and will sure hire her again for our next baby!

I loved working with Delmari during my pregnancy. I was most drawn to her by her positive, calm personality and ability to make any situation feel lighter. I also loved that she is a midwifery student and therefore very knowledgeable about the entire birth process and had lots of knowledge on how to get the baby positioned just right prior to labor. In fact, she did such a great job with prepping us that labor went wayyyyy faster than my husband or myself really realized (we were in denial! haha!). Another great part of Del is that she is a mom herself and went through all the things that she is now supporting.

She was helpful with really getting hands on at the prenatal visit and showing me and my husband exactly how to do the spinning babies moves and labor techniques like the hip squeeze and counter pressure on the back. Another thing I really loved is that she has continued to check in with me after birth and just be a listening ear for the woes of a postpartum mom. I highly recommend Delmari. =)

Delmari is more than a Doula, she is a guardian! Her joyful energy is the salt of the earth, she is so perceptive to what you are thinking and feeling, she knows exactly what to say and do at the exact right time. She was my rock, my lighthouse in a storm, at times I focused only on her and was able to overcome the impossible. She is silly and funny too, we laughed until we cried and then we cried until we laughed! My husband and I were so thankful that she could be with us when I delivered our son. It was my first delivery, and looking back now I realize Delmari was absolutely crucial to make it a successful healthy delivery. My husband was so thankful to have her there, deliveries are scary for men, and Delmari’s calmness kept us all focused. I am former military and am avid runner, so I wasn’t sure that I really “needed a Doula” for my delivery, I thought it was a bit excessive and not really necessary. Looking back now she was the most important person in the room with me! Childbirth is all about mental control, and Delmari is skilled at keeping your mind focused, rather than letting the anxiety take over. All the Drs and nurses I had were absolutely world class, and they all commented on how wonderful it was to have her there with us. She is so respectful to the hospital staff, they absolutely loved her, they all took her number because she was such a great help that they wanted to have her with them in all their future deliveries! I can’t say enough good things about her, not only for delivery but also as my resource during my pregnancy, and afterwards with help for breastfeeding and transitioning to motherhood. Delmari has a gift to be able to help women on one of the most important days of their lives, she is truly a blessing.

I have known Del and her family for most of my life, so she is no stranger to me. That made it even more comfortable for me to have her as my doula. My husband was a little hesitant about hiring a doula at first. Our first prenatal meeting Del explained what her role in our birth journey would be and my husband started to understand why having a doula was so important. In all our prenatal meetings Del was thorough and educated us on all that we could expect in labor and delivery. We practiced comfort measures and labor positions. She answered all our questions and was always available via text or phone call throughout the week. My husband even texted her himself when I wasn’t feeling well close to my due date and she came over that night last minute to help get me comfortable again! During labor Del was on top of every contraction; her mind constantly thinking of what to do next and what would work to get our baby to turn and go down into the canal. She stayed with us the entire time I was in labor which was about 40 hours and stayed for my cesarean section until I returned from the O.R. Throughout labor she applied counter pressure to relieve contractio pain, performed massages, helped me get into several different positions so I wasn’t in bed the entire time, and even helped my husband and mother get involved in the action. Upon my return from my cesarean, she ensured that my baby and I had skin to skin time and that he was latching on and nursing properly. Del truly was a support through painful contractions, she was a voice of reason when we had to make tough decisions, she made sure my husband and mother were fully engaged in the labor process so no one felt left out, she was a voice of encouragement constantly reminding me of my strength. Even postpartum she has reached out to check on me and how we are adjusting to baby life and nursing. Needless to say, my husband is a full blown believer in doulas now!
