Where to even begin? Mummie is amazing! 
 
My husband and I were initially on the fence about hiring a doula - it felt intimidating. How do you find the right one? Will it feel weird to have another person in the delivery room? Our Birth Center offered a "speed dating" event to meet potential doulas so we figured we would give it a shot. When we met Mummie at this event, we both instantly felt at ease. She has a calm, confident energy. She is very personable and has a beautiful ability to convey complicated information in ways that are easy to understand without it feeling dumbed down.
 
During our pregnancy we met with her twice to prepare for the labor and delivery and postpartum/parenting. Mummie provided excellent information regarding a wide range of topics and asked great questions to get to know us and to help us identify what was most important to us in our labor and delivery journey. It was clear that her focus was to equip us in making well-informed decisions and have a healthy outcome for baby and me. She did not ever tell us what we should do or think but offered great insight, drawing from both her extensive education and personal experience. 
 
During my labor and birth, I truly don't know what I would have done without her! I had decided on a natural birth and had horrible back labor. She spent hours holding my hands and locking eyes with me while coaching/breathing me through each contraction, pressing on my back to help relieve the back labor pain, helping control my temperature, making sure I was fed and hydrated and proactively supporting me in any way possible. She was with me 110%. My son was born over 2 years ago and when I think back on my labor and birth, one of the most profound memories I have is how intentional and focused she was in her support. Mummie played a crucial role in helping my labor and birth be an empowering experience and I will be forever grateful.
