It's been 2 months since we had our baby boy and continue to talk about how grateful we are for Kat.

Hiring Kat was one of the best decisions we've made and are so thankful to have had her support throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. As first time parents we needed help navigating the multitude of birth options and treatments to help find the one that fit our needs best. From our first meeting Kat met our needs by thoughtfully answering our questions, providing resources, and checking in to see how we were feeling.

Kat was able to explain the different options clearly in a way that made us feel empowered and knowledgeable about all aspects. Kat's non-judgmental approach helped us feel safe to choose the options that worked best for us.

During the birth Kat was such a wonderful  presence, she helped both of us stay calm and focused on the important things. Having her with us gave us such comfort.

Kat allowed us to feel confident, supported, and able to be vulnerable with all of the hard parts. We can’t recommend Kat enough and will forever be grateful that she was a part of our son's birth!

Kat is wonderful. Our experience with Kat for our son's birth last November was nothing short of amazing, fulfilling, supportive, and positive. When meeting Kat, her demeanor was calm, soothing, and caring -- All 3 being characteristics you'd want in someone you'll confide in as part of your birth story. Kat is intuitive and methodical throughout her process and leads with passion, love, and curiosity. Her interest in our birth preferences was at the forefront of everything she did and once that was established, she provided guidance based on our needs and interests. The birth itself is when the extra support was needed most and she played a significant role in helping me (as well as my husband) maintain a calm mindset through a quite turbulent birth process leading up to the seconds just before he was born. Kat even snapped a series of photos of the first moments holding our son that we would never have had otherwise. They are some of our most treasured images of him as a newborn. We could not recommend your services enough, Kat. Thank you so very much for everything you helped us with. **You are making the right decision choosing Kat as your doula. - The Dulacs

Kat provided exactly the support we needed welcoming our twins, and feeling empowered even through having a high risk (and therefore highly medicallized) pregnancy and delivery meant many changes to the "plan" I had in mind when I first hoped to get pregnant. Kat always used inclusive language, was nonjudgemental and easily accessible when we had questions or concerns. Can't say thanks enough!

We hired Kat for the arrival of our first baby, and she was an immense help! She was very easy to connect with, and we felt comfortable with her right away. Our meetings ahead of time helped my partner and I feel more prepared for the birth, and when it came time for the big day, she was great encouragement and support. She also volunteered to take pictures - which I didn't even know I wanted, but I now hold very dear! Highly recommend Kat if you are considering a doula!

Kat was an integral part of welcoming our second baby into the world. She was exactly what my partner and I needed and hoped for. Kat held space for the emotional support I needed during the last trimester - a sometimes tricky waiting game! During the birth itself, Kat’s voice and reassuring eyes were the ones I turned to in moments of searching. She helped immensely in early labor with positional suggestions, as we suspected some movement was needed to help the baby fully engage. During some of the hardest stages of pushing, it was Kat’s hands and arms that held me. She was such a safe, grounding presence throughout the whole experience. Not to mention, Kat is just a total joy to be around. She’s gentle, hilarious, so knowledgable, and makes you feel at ease. We’re so grateful she was part of our birth.

Kat supported my partner and throughout our pregnancy. She understood our needs, personalities, and provided evidence based information to guide our birth preferences and decisions. She was an invaluable resource and support to our family and an integral part of us having the labor and delivery experience we wanted.

Kat was an amazing doula! She was always responsive and knowledgeable about whatever questions I had. I had a lot of anxiety while I was pregnant and she always made me feel heard and supported. She has also been a great postpartum resource!

I found Kat on doulamatch and she made all the difference at my birth! Not to mention the face-to-face consultation, two prenatal in-home visits, and the postpartum session (luckily on Zoom due to social distancing).
Kat offered to meet me at a place of my choosing (Starbucks!) to talk about what I wanted out of my birth experience and to inform me more about her services. I wanted someone who I saw as a peer and a friend, and I definitely felt that vibe from Kat! She is refreshingly genuine, a calm listener, and she is up-to-date with her birthing knowledge. This was invaluable to me as a first time momma.
During our prenatal sessions we talked about things to do during pregnancy to prepare for labor, what to expect during labor, how my husband could support me, and what she would be doing as a doula to support me. Kat also supported me mentally and emotionally, encouraging me to write down my fears and de-stress regularly.
When the time came for my baby girl to make her appearance, Kat was available by text and phone call until I really needed her extra support during labor. Fortunately, even with Covid-19 on the loose, Kat was able to show her credentials to the screening people at the hospital entrance and make her way to L&D. Doulas are a part of the birthing team!!! She was able to make suggestions for when I couldn't think what labor position to try next. She helped me make decisions about pain control and other interventions. She held my hand, massaged my back, reminded me to eat ice chips in between pushes and was on the other end of the rope in tug-of-war while I pushed. She gave my husband suggestions of how to help me cope and she took the first picture of my new family. She helped me latch my baby girl to feed for the first time.
I am so thankful I chose her to be my doula!

If you are on the fence about hiring a doula, I would highly recommend it, but I especially recommend Kat Adams!

I'm fortunate to know Katherine on a personal level, but she also supported us for the the birth of our daughter (second child) in July 2018. It was a planned homebirth with a midwife. I began working with Katherine in the second trimester. She was an encouraging & reassuring presence throughout. She prompted me to verbalize hopes/goals I had for the pregnancy & birth. She held me accountable for getting organized & maintaining healthy eating/activity patterns. She checked in with me periodically to inquire about any challenges (physical/emotional/work-related) I might be facing; this was really valuable in preparing both practically and mentally for the birth.

ld highly recommendOn the day of the birth she was wonderful support to me & my husband. She helped me more than I could have imagined. She was confident, calm and reassuring. Katherine is very intuitive; she knew when to observe & when to suggest something to change the energy or help labor progress (and it was always a helpful suggestion); she knew when it was time to call the midwife to come and how to help me cope as the labor became more intense. She worked very well with the rest of the birth team (midwife & midwife assistant). I feel she was an integral part of my birth experience. Although cliche, I truly feel I could not have done it without her support. Katherine continued to reach out to us in the postpartum period to ensure we were adjusting to life with the baby.

Katherine is passionate about birth work and empowering women. She is wise, confident and encouraging. It is wonderful just to hang with her, whether during a birth or otherwise; and she's one of the coolest people I know, to top it off. I would highly recommend her.
