Whitney is absolutely the best! I went completely unmedicated even with a few minor complications bc of the support I had from Whitney and my husband, they were my power team. I went into contractions early in the morning and Whitney was so quick to get to my house. Right as she got there she helped me through some heavy contractions with counter pressure (best thing ever!) And other labor techniques. She also helped my husband get some food in him before we left. When we were in that labor mindset both of us were forgetting small but essential things.... Like food haha. Once we arrived at the hospital she just kept me from losing my mind and my goals of going unmedicated. She helped the staff understand that I wasn't going to have medication and I did actually need food to give myself some energy. I loved every bit of my birth even the hardest parts. Whitney kept me calm through every step of the way and I couldn't recommend her enough. Thanks Whit for being with us at our delivery ?
I had my baby 4 weeks ago and both my husband and I are so glad that we hired Whitney to be my doula. I look back and can’t imagine going through labor and delivery without her. We had never even heard of a doula before we got pregnant and weren’t even sure we were going to hire one, but 2 weeks before I went into labor we made one of the best decisions of our pregnancy. This was our first baby so I wasn’t sure how either of us was going to react. A couple weeks later as my husband and I processed our amazing birth experience, he said “I’m so glad we hired Whitney as our doula because it allowed me to just be your husband during the labor and not have to be your husband and your doula!” The experience was as new to my husband as it was to me and I’m sure he felt a lot was being expected of him going into the labor so it made all the difference to have Whitney there supporting me physically with counter pressure, hip squeeze, vigorous rebozo shaking, and the much needed affirmations, which allowed my husband to focus 100% on supporting me emotionally. Both my husband & Whitney were each a vital part of supporting me during a lengthy labor. During early labor while I was still at home, Whitney was available to us providing direction and advice through text message and when we were ready to go to our birth center she met us there promptly and jumped into action as soon as she saw us pull in to the parking lot without a moment to lose. She was everything we needed at just the right time.
I had my sweet baby boy yesterday and it will be an experience I will always remember, not only because we welcomed our second son into the world, but because Kandice and Whitney from the Davis County doulas were a part of it. I came to know Kandice and Whitney through the DCD Cares Program. My husband nominated me to be selected to have the Davis County Doulas be a part of my support team throughout my pregnancy, labor and postpartum and I was chosen! How wonderful is that!
I had a set plan in my mind of how I saw my birth experience going and had my mind set on sticking with it after a traumatic birth with my first son. During the labor process things changed and my birth story took a complete turn from what I had expected to happen. I made a decision to change the place of my birth from my home to a hospital. This was a difficult decision, but Kandice and Whitney stuck with me every step of the way and helped guide me to having the most perfect birthing experience. They empowered me to follow my heart and trust my instinct. They let me lead the way, but stood firm next to me and supported me in any way I needed. Having them there was the most comforting and reassuring part of my labor. I will never forget the major role they played in welcoming my beautiful son into this world. If you are wanting a doula or even considering it, meet with the Davis County Doulas. I cannot say enough about how essential they were to my birth and how they can play that role for you as well.
Whitney was my Doula just a few days ago for the birth of my sweet daughter. I am BLOWN away by how incredible she was to both my husband and I!! Our labor was already a complicated one (days of waiting after waters had broken, 24 hour active labor, hospital transfer, very emotional mama etc) and Whitney and her amazing back up Bonnie (who was there for only a couple hours as Whitney taught her class) were there for every single minute of it. She helped me through every contraction and was right there with me when I was pushing. She let my husband sleep through the night as she was a constant for every need I had. She has such a gentle touch, and was always so positive and encouraging when it came to every decision I made. If you are looking for a Doula, Whitney is your girl!!! We couldn’t have done it without her!!
Whitney is amazing! If you are looking for a kind and caring doula you have made the right choice. Whitney was my rock during my birth. She taught my husband how to be the best birthing partner and help my feelings and wants be heard at all times. She did so much for me that even my mother said that she couldn't imagine me giving birth without her, and believe me she will be at every birth, when I have more kids. Whitney just knows all about birth and loves helping with birth. She made me exicted and empowered as a women. If you want the best of the best, Whitney is your doula.
