Susan was our Doula for the July, 2019 birth of our daughter. Words can't describe how excellent our experience was. The amount of preparation and attention to detail Susan put into getting prepared for my wife's labor was apparent as soon as she entered our home and got to work. She remembered my wife's goals, likes and dislikes, and reassured us both by her presence. Susan allowed me to be there for my wife on an emotional level, in a way that I wasn't for our first child's birth. She was there for Alina and I when we needed her and was in the background when she sensed that we didn't. Most importantly, Susan's efforts allowed my wife to labor longer at home, minimizing the time we spent in triage at Mount Auburn. She is an expert in breathing techniques, comfort measures, and she knows when to implement them. We will be forever grateful to Susan for helping us bring our child into this world naturally and safely.

I will forever be grateful that we hired Susan as our doula for the birth of our son this past April. Susan's extensive knowledge, calming nature, kindness, and passion for this work were clear from our first meeting. Most importantly, I felt comfortable with her right away. Susan was available to me anytime throughout my pregnancy, for advice, to answer questions, or just to check-in. Susan was an amazing support and friend throughout my pregnancy -- but when it came to my delivery she was truly invaluable. She made me feel both comfortable and empowered; I honestly can't imagine having gone through labor and delivery without her. I was not prepared for how emotional the whole process was going to be for me, and in retrospect, having Susan there was one of the best decisions my husband and I made. She is the best.

We hired Susan to be our doula for the birth of our daughter in February 2019, and we are so grateful to have found her. We were her first clients, but you never would have known. She was incredibly organized and professional throughout the process. At our home visits before the birth she got to know us, shared valuable resources and helped us think through our preferences for the birth. Susan helped both of us feel calm and confident going into the birth, which was crucial to making it a positive experience. She was very thoughtful and thorough in preparing for the birth, helping us plan what to pack for the hospital, and arranging for a back-up doula to be available if she were to be unable to attend our birth for some reason. During the labor and delivery, Susan gave encouragement, ideas, and calm energy that felt supportive. She suggested comfort techniques and positions, but was never pushy, and seemed to know when to stand back. She helped my husband feel confident in his ability to comfort and encourage me, and they worked together as a team to support me throughout. She brings an incredible depth of techniques for childbirth and, perhaps more importantly, a calm energy that was so essential in helping me through the birthing process and experience a birth without intervention or medication. We can't recommend her highly enough, and hope to work with her again.
