My passion for birth work is driven by my commitment to social justice and my belief that every pregnant person deserves to feel supported, seen and heard throughout their pregnancy and birth experience. My fee includes the following: a complimentary "Meet and Greet" to get to know you and gain an understanding of what you are hoping for during your birthing experience; two prenatal visits to develop our relationship, discuss desired birth outcomes, learn and practice comfort measures for labor, and share educational resources on pregnancy support; 24/7 on call availability two weeks before your due date until birth; and two postnatal visits to ensure the health and comfort of you and your baby(ies). I am currently certified through PALS, and am a Swedish Hospital Doula at First Hill and Ballard, as well as an Open Arms Core Birth Doula. If you are interested in private services (non Swedish or Open Arms), please contact me directly about availability and pricing.

Amaryah seems to have been made for being a doula. They have an inherent knack for empathy that worked perfectly for being able to detect where each of us were emotionally and mentally. This was clear from the moment my wife and I met them. Amaryah's soft-spokenness could be mistaken for shyness, but actually ends up being a commanding force in creating an environment free of judgement and assumption. As a result, Heather and I felt extremely cared for. Not once did we ever feel like Amaryah was going through any kind of motions. They have a real and true passion for this.
When we learned we needed a c-section, Amaryah was able to walk us through everything we could expect from the surgery and help us determine how to still have a birth experience unique to us and they were there through the surgery advocating for us where necessary. Afterwards the postpartum visits were lifesavers when we needed to figure out a pumping schedule, when my wife didn't know how to use the breast pump, just in general assisting in adjusting to life with a baby.
If you're lucky enough to be able to hire a doula, I can't recommend Amaryah more.
Amaryah was awesome!! For some reason my families couldn't present during my labor, Swedish connected me with Amaryah. Working with Amaryah was such an amazing experience! She was a kind, smart, supportive, professional and patient person. She spent time and listented to me and gave me suggestions and help based on my needs. She made me feel really confident and relaxed during labor. Seriouly I don't think I could do it without her.
I would totaly recommend Amaryah to anyone who's expecting.
Pregnancy and delivery has been an amazing journey for me as I had Amaryah! I don’t know where to start.-She is an angel in disguise of doula.Had couple of prenatal visits , throughout my delivery in l&d and helped being my postpartum doula too.Wonderful things about her .. she is punctual, responds for message , phone calls , works great with siblings, understanding my needs when I am in pain especially ,no need to speak to make her realize your feelings, the massages when I am in pain,I had a toddler less than 2 years she played role of sibling doula too! She is my go to person even after delivery for any questions regarding my health , baby, sibling emotional feeling ..I strongly recommend her for any one who needs help during pregnancy.I am extremely happy for choosing her as my doula .
I can't even begin to explain how incredible Amaryah was in empowering and supporting my husband and I throughout the childbirth process. From the very first time I met her, I could tell that being a doula is more than just a job for her, but a true calling. Her calm demeanor is contagious. Her ability to truly hear and understand our questions and concerns is really special. She helped my husband and I navigate through the roller coaster that is labor in a way that simply cannot be put into words. Hiring Amaryah was the best decision we made. I was determined in having a medication free birth and had a lot of anxiety about being pushed into having unecessary drugs at the hospital. My husband, on the other hand, was very concerned about how I would emotionally handle a change in plans. Amaryah was GREAT in comforting both of us and in helping us feel secure in the fact that birth is unpredictable and that whatever choices we made were the right ones. I ended up getting an epidural and I am so happy that I did. Amaryah's detailed explanations and supportive attitude really helped me come to terms with our change in plans and I have zero regrets. She made me feel incredibly empowered in my most vulnerable state and she made sure my husband was taken care of as well. I would recommend her to anyone and I would 100% hire her again if/when we have another baby.
Though I could have had our child without Amaryah, I would never have felt as psychologically prepared and confident during our birthing journey. And while it is a doula’s job to prepare the birthing person and partner in this way, Amaryah was exceptionally empathetic, resourceful, and unconditionally supportive. Her philosophy and values were the best fit for our family. If we have another baby, we will only trust Amaryah to join us.
We loved having Sarah as our birth doula, she was really helpful for both me an my partner. For the prenatal visits, she took the time to listen and understand what would make a good delivery experience and how she can help with that, was prepared to answer our questions and also provided additional information afterwards to our random questions to make sure we understand our options and feel confident and prepared. During labor and delivery she was extremely supportive as well as pushing me at the end to get me over the finish line to deliver our healthy baby boy. After delivery, she met with us again, armed with recommendations and suggestions to help us adjust to our new baby.
We are so thankful that Sarah accompanied us in our journey to becoming parents. She was a caring, genuine, and engaged presence during pregnancy, labor, and postpartum. Having an advocate and an ally who understood the process in a way we did not significantly reduced the stress of this big life transition.
