My husband is in the military and we moved to Colorado 4 months before my due date. We had a doula in Virginia for our first baby whom we really liked but had to start all over in the process of finding a good Doula. I looked at a number of reviews on quite a few doula profiles, and then came across the profile for Sesch.

After reading review after review of Sesch, I started thinking that maybe these were all personal friends or relatives because they were so impressive.

However... :) when I opted to have a version to turn my breech baby at 38 weeks, she was there at 530 a.m. and by my side the whole time and was great to  match my sense of humor When I was interacting with her on numerous occasions, she’s the real deal.

I don’t know what new info to add that hasn’t already been said here but she definitely exceeded all of my expectations for a doula.  She provided everything I needed on all levels, emotionally enabling me to feel at peace and calm, mentally making sure I was informed about my choices and physically helping me be as comfortable as possible with a number of tricks she used (counter back pressure, peppermint scented ice water for refreshing washcloths that I used to cool my face and neck suggestions on ways to prep for before and after the birth).

If I have another baby, she’ll be my first choice! ??

After having our first child 9 years ago & moving to Colorado where we have no family, I knew I needed a doula to help guide me through my second birth. I am so glad I found Sesch & would recommend her to anyone in need of a doula. She reassured me when I needed it the most & helped make my labor/delivery experience as memoriable as posssible. I will look back on my daughters birth as a great experience & I am so grateful for that! Thank you Sesch!

My husband and I could not be more happy with Sesch and the service she provided us! We reached out to her after our initial doula had informed us she had a conflict, and Sesch immediately put us at ease during our initial visit. We wanted to have a natural birth, if possible, and she was incredibly supportive through the entire process. We were surprised when our little one decided to come 3 weeks early, but Sesch did not miss a beat, and was by our side right away when we told her it was time. This was our first, so naturally we weren’t entirely sure what to expect, but Sesch was very good about answering all of our questions during our prenatal visit so we were ready when we arrived at the hospital. She was prepared and had this amazing ability to anticipate my needs before I could even communicate them. Sesch is very good at her job, and is an awesome person to have in your corner during this life changing experience. If you are considering a doula, we strongly recommend Sesch!

Sesch was incredible and made our labor and delivery so seamless. This was my husbands and my first baby and knew little about home birth. She helped guide and encourage us during this time and her presence made us feel so much more at ease. The vibes and personality that she brings to something that may be stressful really allowed me to embrace and listen to my body for a safe delivery of our baby girl. I wouldn't think of anyone else but Sesch if we had anymore children in this area to be involved with supporting us I bringing a child earth side. Thank you for being so wonderful Secsh.

I was very late in contacting Sesch during my pregnancy, 38 weeks along.  I contacted her after the first doula I spoke with did not show up to the appointment we had made.  Though I had never had a doula before, I heard many great things about them and the birth center I attended required one for first time mothers.

Let me say, I was floored at how much comfort Sesch brought me -  before, during and after my Luna's birth. From the first moments I spoke with her, I felt at ease - especially given my lateness in contacting her and after having been blown off by someone else.  She assured me that she would be there for Luna's birth regardless of whether we had met for our first session or not.  Sesch was very dependable and always there for our appointments or in contact with me if she was attending to someone else's birth.  We did have to reschedule one of our appointments because she was trapped in Denver assisting another woman's birth while there was a severe snow storm that shut down the roads between Denver and Colorado Springs!! I thought that spoke volumes about her dedication.

My husband and mother (who is a prior labor & delivery nurse) also loved Sesch and felt as though I was in the very best of doulas' hands.  Sesch was very patient and helpful, during my labor she had hands of steel helping for hours with counterpressure through my contractions and all the while offering verbal support without being overbearing or distracting.  She offered wonderful advice throughout my contact with her and is very reachable by phone even to this day.  Also, the little hand cast she did of my Luna's hand is beautiful and so meaningful to us. Couldn't be happier with my experience, I would highly recommend her services to anyone who needs someone knowledgeable, patient and caring!

As first-time parents, it was such a gift to have Sesch's support as our doula for the birth of our son in March! In the months leading up to labor, Sesch provided invaluable support through her extensive, unbiased knowledge shared during our prenatal appointments, learning about our desires for birth and how she could best walk alongside us, answering our many questions, offering resources from her lending library, and being available for text/phone support when we needed. My water broke unexpectedly three weeks before our due date, and Sesch was quick to offer tips to get labor started and even drove an hour and a half to beat a blizzard to support us hours before active labor began. My husband, though a bit skeptical about the doula experience but supportive of my desires, was SO thankful she was there! After we brought our boy home, he said, "I didn't exactly realize that the nurses came and went, and we really needed someone on our team who was there for just us the whole time". Sesch made our first birth experience so easy that now, even only three months out, I'm looking forward to my next pregnancy!!

This was our first baby and what I was seeking for in a doula was comfort and someone who knew all the tricks to labor and Sesch is exactly that. She makes you feel safe, comfortable and helps with the contractions which is the best feeling for a first time mom. Definitely set up an appointment. She’s amazing and I promise you will not be let down I am forever happy she was my doula and will continue to be for future babies. ??

We decided to look for a doula for our second child because we desired greater support in our delivery so my husband could be available to me as a husbandly supporter, rather than a “delivery coach”. When we first met Sesch we felt comfortable with her. We could tell she was knowledgeable and flexible in how she could support us. After hiring her, we were impressed by her thoroughness, care, and knowledge. She made herself available for questions and provided resources throughout my pregnancy and delivery. She was timely and knowledgeable when she replied to my texts and checked in on me as the pregnancy progressed. She was a great support to me and brought a calmness to the delivery room. She did not take over, but supported us through the process. I would highly recommend her to anyone.

Sesch was part of our team for the birth of our first child. In our initial interview my husband and I immediately felt comfortable with her. Her relational warmth and positive, gentle spirit paired with her experience and expertise put us at ease at once.

In our prenatal sessions she noted our preferences for our hospital birth and our goals. I appreciated the good questions she asked, particularly about the emotional side of birth (desires/expectations). We also appreciated her sessions on the birth process (including a memorable demonstration of what the different stages of labor sound like, which really helped us with our expectations for the day of), what to expect at the hospital and post birth (including the healing process but, most helpfully, what happens in the delivery room right after baby arrives - the lovely uterus "massage," etc. ;) ). Since we weren't able to attend a nursing class before our due date, she took time in our last prenatal session to give us a crash course in the basics of breastfeeding so we'd feel ready.

During labor at home and at the hospital, Sesch's presence was calming and grounding, and she supported both me and my husband so well. At home, after she arrived Sesch took over timing my contractions so my husband could be more present with me, and she offered ideas for laboring positions that helped save my energy during labor. Her knowledge of how to give the most effective counterpressure on my hips was invaluable!

When we got to the hospital, she helped advocate for me with the nursing staff and answer questions, and she kept up the calm and genuine encouragement for my breathing, relaxation, positions, etc. and during the "after delivery" portion as well. We are so grateful we had her there to support and guide. I was able to achieve my goal of an unmedicated, natural birth with her help and had the birth experience I had hoped for: calm, supported, joyful. I cannot recommend Sesch enough!

When I first met Sesch, I felt comfortable with her immediately. Her warmth and openness made our interview feel like spending time with a friend instead of a business transaction. My kids warmed up to her right away, which was important as they were also present for our birth. Having her support and experience during Penny’s birth helped keep me focused and my partner calm. We loved our birth, and are so happy that Sesch was part of our team!

Sesch was our amazing doula for the labor and birth of our son! We had nearly a week of early/prodromal labor before his birth, and Sesch was present and available whenever we needed her. She was so encouraging and supportive. She is peaceful, compassionate, and generous with her time and energy. As a doula myself, I knew having a doula present at my birth was something I wanted, and Sesch was exactly the person I needed. Her knowledge and experience helped put me at ease time and time again. She was so validating when I was discouraged, and held space for me for whatever I needed to feel. I highly recommend her care to everyone!

We consider ourselves very fortunate for having had Sesch as a doula for the birth of our first son. She's such a sweet, knowledgeable and patient professional, yet she can be assertive when the situation requires it. As first time parents, we had a virtually infinite number of questions regarding this life-changing experience. Sesch answered one by one, clearly and calmly, explaining the options we had and what outcomes we could expect of each one of them.

What impressed us the most about Sesch is that she was able to quickly make us feel comfortable with her, very close to us actually, without being intrusive at all. During prenatal and labour we felt we could trust her fully. It was as if we knew her since long, long time, like a relative who is more experienced and who really cared about us. Except that we had met her four times for only a couple of hours!

I can still remember the relief she brought me during my contractions through her massage. She also taught my boyfriend how to give me an excellent massage. In my case this helped a lot!

Moms-to-be in Colorado springs are lucky to have the opportunity to have the support of such a wonderful doula!

Sesch was wonderful and an integral part of our birth. We had 2 meetings with her before the birth and then she was on call when I started labour. She came to our place before going to the hospital and made the whole 33 hours of labour as comfrtable as possible. She made us feel like a friend and a family member at once. My husband and I felt comfortable broaching any questions. She has been through so many births that her knowledge was from both her training and birth experience. During our long labour she helped us with any questions, comforted us and made sure we had everything we needed. Anyone would be lucky to have Sesch as their doula. I would love to have her with us for any future births we have.

Sesch Wren was referred to me by a close friend of mine when I was pregnant and looking for a doula. I have to say she is a very caring person and very competent being a doula. Let me share my experience and highlight why. I generally live a healthy life style: eat mostly green veggies and fish and I am a jogger. I run at least 5-10km twice a week before I was pregnant. I tried running during my pregnancy but found it uncomfortable so I walked about 5k everyday to go to work and come back when the weather permits. In my early pregnancy I had sudden bleeding but tests showed everything was normal. Later tests show that except for my iron level a bit low in the normal range, others all good. However, I tend to worry a lot. Sesch offered great advices and i find myself much more calm after exchanging words with her.

I am 5'4'' and only gained about 22lbs during pregnancy so I was expecting a smooth delivery as during the last few days ultrasound shows baby is in a good position. On the day of delivery, if without Sesch, things could get very bad because I had trouble pushing baby out even though it didn't take long for it to open from 6cm when I arrived at hospital to 10cm. It is until baby's heart rate starts dropping and doctor said baby had to be taken out RIGHT AWAY. At the end we were both safe. It was that baby's head and shoulders were tangled by the umbilical cord which caused baby's heart rate dropping. It could be dangerous. And I could end up in C-Section room which I don't wish, but with Sesch's encouragement and looking out for me, baby was taken out by suction cup and I didn't use epidural at all. Sesch played an important role in helping me make decisions, looking out for me and gave me confidence that I can do it. And I haven't mentioned that she also gave me great messages to relieve the back pains I experienced since the beginning of the contractions.

Her help was invaluable to me! And I am still thankful about it!

We were so fortunate to end up in the patient, caring hands of Sesch Wren for the birth of our daughter in June 2010. At first we were skeptical how helpful a doula would really be and wary an outside person might usurp my husband's role. I was also mildly tokophobic -- so freaked out about the prospect of giving birth that I couldn't even watch an instructional video. Sesch quickly won us over and then some. She helped me find the courage to face what was ahead. She was authoritative in her explanations of the physical challenges labour would bring, professional in her demeanour, and most importantly, a friendly, trusted presence we both relied on. My husband appreciated her calm, stalwart support. I benefited from her soothing words, actions and suggestions. Under Sesch's care, I gave birth naturally and drug-free, on my hands and knees while leaning over a birthing ball! I now look back and know I wouldn't have wanted to do it any other way. My daughter's birth was a truly, beautiful and moving experience. And I give Sesch all the credit in the world for guiding us through one of life's most bewildering and overwhelming experiences with grit and grace.

I had my second baby 14 months after C section. I had it naturally, without epidural or any unnecessary medical interventions. My dream came true. For all of this I am very greatfull to Sesch. She not only knows what she is doing, I'd say she is born to be a doula. I was not the first time mother, however, my first birthing experience was quite traumatic and I absolutely needed someone who could support me in my choices, provide the information, not to disturb me with unnecessary worries (which doctors very often do) and be there when I need help: before, during and after the birth. Sesch was everything I did hope for and even more. She is very competent, confident, skillful, gentle and a wonderful person too. During my pregnancy she has taken time to know me, to understand my needs, my wishes and my personality. Therefore during the labor she was reading my mind. I did not need to ask - she understood what I need and helped me in a way that was best for me. Sesch knows how to interact during the labor, how to ease the labor and how to give you stregth to go trough it. After the birth Sesch has visited us several times, checked me and my baby, and.. made meals for our whole family. All through this wonderful journey she has been the greatest support. And I cannot express how much I appreciate all she has done for us.

Sesch was such an invaluable source of support for both my husband and I during the birth of our son. Despite the difficulties and unexpected complications her lovely, warm and kind nature gave us the confidence and trust to overcome each of the challenges and enabled our birth experience to be a positive and memorable one. Thank you so much Sesch for helping us bring our baby to the world!
