Alicia and Bri were perfect doulas.

My wife and I were not sold on having a doula until right before the birth- like a week before birth! This was our first child so we realized we had no idea what we were doing and called Bri and Alicia about 10 days before our due date. Right off the bat, they were wonderful. They were very flexible and met with us within 2 days. Before labor they were in constant contact, aware of how close we were to the big day, and having someone checking in was very comforting.

During labor and delivery, they were both amazing in supporting me and my wife. Bri was there early on, and acted as a great filter for the medical providers, making sure we knew what was going on and walking us through our options when we had some tough decisions to make. During labor I remember at one point Alicia turned to me and said "when's the last time you had some water?" I had no idea, and therein lies there value- they were each so good at simultaneously being in the moment with us, but also stepping back and evaluating what our needs were.  The miracle of birth is so amazing and challenging- Bri and Alicia made sure we kept it together with just enough of a guiding hand. I cannot fully express how much help they both were before, during, and after our birth.

My birth experience with Alicia by my side was one I will never forget. From the moment my husband I met her, we knew her lighthearted and genuine personality was exactly the fit for what we needed near us during delivery. We had two visits with her prior to delievey which covered all our questions and allowed us to build a relationship with her prior to our due date. She continued to answer our questions and help us feel as prepared as possible. Everything during my pregnancy was smooth, though I ended up being 12 days past due and spent six nights in the hospital which ultimently ended with a unplanned C-Section. I will forever be greatful that we decided on having a doula, and that Alicia was the one we had there for support. Eventhough my experience was nothing I was expecting, I felt so empowered every moment of my stay and overall have such a positive feeling of my experience. I wanted to try everything possible to have a vaginal delivery, and Alicia made sure every option was tried which even incuded her throwing out new ideas to our midwife before having a C-Section. I highly recommend having Alicia by your side in your delivery experience.

Alicia was an incredible source of support, humor, and care leading up to and during the birth of our baby boy. We felt instantly at ease & in good hands with questions asked and information provided. Having Alicia as part of our birthing process made all the difference, and provided us with confidence that we wouldn't have had without her by our side.

Simply put - Alicia radiates warmth and compassion as a doula. My husband and I long debated hiring a doula, but knew it was the right thing to do when we found Alicia and Bri. Their support was IMPERATIVE as we navigated the gray area of two different birth scenarios literally until the last minute. While we desired a “natural-as-possible” birth, we ultimately had an attempted (failed) ECV followed by C-section due to our son’s “breeched whale” presentation. Alicia was knowledgeable, well-researched and unbiased as she helped us weigh all of our options; honored my transition from “maiden to mother” (as she so eloquently put it); reassuringly explained the scary stuff; empowered me to speak up during pre-op when something was unclear. We would eagerly request her support during a future pregnancy and birth!

Alicia has been an amazing doula to work with. This is my first pregnancy and I knew I really wanted to have a doula there to support me during my birthing experience. Alicia has exceeded all of my expectations and I'm so glad that she was there to help me through this challenging and wonderful new experiences of motherhood. She has been supportive and very informative throughout my pregnancy, labor and postpartum journey and has never been judgemental or biased on any of my decisions. When we decide to have another baby, I would definitely want to have Alicia along for the ride again!

I had a homebirth delivering my first baby this spring. It was a great match because this was also Alicia’s first time attending and assisting a homebirth. I had never used doula services before and we decided last minute to add her to our birth team. I was uncertain about finding someone whos personality fit and also shared some of the same beliefs about birth we did but Alicia was great! From the beginning she was very confident and knowledgeable and helped answer all of our questions and direct us through the remainder of my pregnancy and birth process. I felt like she was genuine in her passion for becoming a doula and it really showed when it was game time. Because my labor was fairly quick I wasn’t able to contact Alicia until I was well into active labor. I remember laying down by myself trying to get through some pretty intense contractions and in that moment I realized “I need a doula!” I needed something that my family and close loved ones couldn’t provide. I can’t quite put my finger on it, it’s something of the feminine energy and emotional support that Alicia provided. It was in that moment I barely typed out a text message to her “I need you now!” It was all I could manage and she was there quickly, was polite and professional and jumped in right away as if she had been doing this for years! She is a true natural and I would recommend Alicia to any family especially those who are having a home birth. I felt emotionally safe, and I am confident Alicia can perform above and beyond in her practice. Thank you for being available any time of day and giving me the support I needed as a new mother. Alicia will be a true diamond to add to any birth team and a great employee to hire as she also has excellent communication and people skills. She worked well with the rest of my birth team including my midwife and attending midwife. Her passion and compassion will take her far in this industry.

We were connected to Alilcia by a Mom's Facebook Group and I am convinced that our relationship was meant to be. Not only was Alicia professional from the very start, but she was warm, caring, and you could tell she not only loved what she was doing, but that she had already started loving our family as well. During our first two meetings she asked all of the right questions, she brought my husband into the conversation rather just focusing on me, and her positivity was contagious. On the day of my delivery, Alicia showed up prepared, bright eyed and ready to go. She remained a calm and loving presence during the whole labor and delivery process and I really felt that she was 100% committed to making our experience the best and most amazing as possible.  Her presences was felt, but not overwhelming and oh so supportive. After the baby was born, Alicia was so wonderful, she made sure that we were settled, said hello to the new baby and left my husband and I to bond with our little one. I honestly was sad to see her go. A few days after we were home and settled Alicia reached out to make sure we were settling in okay and came by the house for one last follow up visit. If you are looking for a calm, confident, professional and above all caring doula for your birth expeirence I highly recommend using Alicia.

My experience with Alicia was beautiful.  Although I didn’t find out about Mother Tree until very late in my pregnancy it was just enough time for Alicia to take absolute care of me and my baby Jream.  I went into labor around 3:30AM Sunday morning and I didn’t have my baby until 7:31AM Monday morning, Alicia never left my side.  She was there to make sure I was comfortable, confident and  that I could do this.  I really needed that, especially with this being my first pregnancy.  She was a real blessing to me and my family and I will be forever grateful.
