I took the leap into becoming a full time doula late in 2018 after spending several months juggling doula work with a part time medical office reception position and running a cleaning business which I started over 12 years ago. I have always had a passion for breastfeeding and exclusively breastfed my babies until they self-weaned, this included a 6 month period of tandem nursing. Families who utilize my birth doula services can access additional breastfeeding support at no additional charge.
Birth fee includes 2-3 prenatal visits, attending your birth, and 3 postpartum visits usually at 24 hrs, day 3, and day 7. Additional breastfeeding support visits are free of charge. If you have been referred by Pomegranate Midwives please message me for special rates. Approved for funding by the BCAAFC for birth & Postpartum services for qualifying Indigenous families. Pool rental available at no extra charge for homebirths. Client must purchase a sanitary liner and drinking water safe hose ($70).

Having my first baby in my late 30’s has been the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. Prior to get pregnant I realized that I would need a good support system to partner with us in our believe and desire to conceive, and birthing a baby could not be different.
It took me longer to build the “village” we needed to partake in the birthing of our son, nonetheless we were very fortunate to learn about Leslie Dowler, from Doula With Love, through a referral from another Doula who knew Leslie could be what I needed by my side.
And indeed she was!! Leslie was my friend, my sister and I dare to say that at times she was like a mother to me :-) I feel emotional just to remember our talks, her wisdom, her silent presence at the OR, and registering our most precious memories.
Since my first call to Leslie, I noticed how attentive she is to details, how insightful she was to paint the vision for the birth of our child, even before I was confident enough to declare that I wanted a “natural birth”.
Leslie, per my request, participated in every important decision along with my husband. I admit my journey into motherhood would be quite different without having her by my side.
As a kindhearted mom herself, and following through with everything she committed herself to do, she even walked the extra-miles to visit me at the hospital in the following day after delivering my baby boy bringing me a delicious soup.
My first weeks as a new mom were hard, maybe harder than I expected they would be - My husband and I are greatly thankful for having Leslie visiting us, answering my numerous questions and lending me her ear so I could process what the birthing experience was for me thus helping me to cope with it.
Dear Leslie, we will be forever grateful for everything you did and were willing to do for my family and I.
My husband and I enlisted Leslie’s help to bring some clarity and structure to the birthing experience. She has brought so much more to our little family unit! We’ve asked her to stay on with post-partum shifts because we truly feel as though our daughter is in wonderful hands whenever Leslie is around. She has been an incredibly valuable asset throughout our entire journey as new parents. We can’t thank her enough for her services and will be using her services down the road should another little one come to be.
Our experience with Leslie was fantastic! She was introduced to us by a friend who is a doula, but was unavailable for us, due to a schedule conflict. Leslie came with a ton of experience under her belt, which was comforting to me, and she was just so able to accommodate and really adjust to best support us. Leslie by nature has a very warm and bubbly personality, which makes her easy to get to know and like, but she also was able to just be calm and quiet, which is what I wanted, so I could focus on my breathing and allowing my body to birth our child. When I needed counter-pressure because of back labour, she was as firm as I needed her to be, and when I needed a drink, she was there with one in hand. It was a home birth, and it was amazing. Leslie took some photos on our phone for us, and by the time she left, no one would have known that a birth had just happened in our living room... everything was clean and tidy, and we were snugged up in our bed with tea and snacks, resting and getting to know this newest addition to our family. I would absolutely use Leslie as my doula again!
For me, it was the personal touches that Leslie brought to our birthing experience that made her services so memorable. She had extra diapers laying around, so she gave them to us (which saved us!). She brought me soup at the hospital after my emergency c-section, which was so incredibly thoughtful! She was also super knowledgable and helped me set up a tube feeding system when I had to go on nipple rest, taught me how to use my wrap and sling, and was just totally there for me whatever I needed. During the birth she caught my puke, set up and tore down our pool, showered me, cleaned up, stroked my head, and pretty much was indispensable and amazing. Thanks for everything, Leslie!
I don’t know what I would have done without Leslie by my side! I was in labour for three long days, and when labour stalled she had me do a circuit of different positions to help move baby down.. and it worked! We made so much progress and I was able to deliver the way I had hoped as a result. She also spent time with us before and after the birth to make sure we were informed, and gave me a personalized breastfeeding session while we were in the hospital when she knew I was having trouble getting the right latch. Thank you Leslie for being there through the hardest thing I’ve ever done!
Leslie is kind, devoted and truly cares about you and your baby. She works hard to make sure you have the tools to succeed, and the support you need. She is genuine, comfortable and I would highly recommend her to anyone. I had a bit of a confusing and anxious end of my pregnancy, no one really understood what was going on, but Leslie listened, researched and gave me all the resources she possibly could. There were a lot of what if's and she helped me aquire as many solutions as possible to the what if's.
Leslie has been coming into our home a couple of times per week to help us care for our 8-month old son. Leslie is authentic, warm and clearly loves to be around babies. She is so wonderful with our son - her genuine caring shines through at every turn. Her insight and wisdom have supported us to make sense of some of our babies' behaviours and improve our understanding of him. We have really appreciated her can-do attitude when it comes to housework - she sees what needs to be done and does it! I feel very fortunate to have met Leslie, to have had her support, and for my son to have benefitted from spending time with her.
It was a privilege to have Leslie as my doula. Having her present for the birth of my son made this first experience so much more memorable for me. It was so comforting having her there to help me through my labour pains, and laugh with me in between contractions. I don’t no what I would have done without her on my team. She was so on the ball that I didn’t have a thing to worry about and was very well taken care of. Thanks to her, I have some amazing photos and videos that she took, that I am so greatful for. I constantly watch the video of me seeing my son for the first time, where I’m crying tears of happiness. My pregnancy journey was so scary and stressful, but the end result was mind blowingly spiritual.. I could relive that day over and over again. I recommend leslie to anyone considering having a doula.
