We were not able to rely on family for much support after our son was born. We had temporary help after the birth but needed some help at nights during the first two months of his life. Enter Jenna.

I first knew Jenna as a yoga instructor. The atmosphere in the class was calming and serene. Jenna had a unique ability to attune to the mood and needs of the individuals in the class. Contacting Jenna for post-partum doula assistance was one of the easiest decision I made during those first few hectic and sleepless post-partum days.

Off the bat, I knew that having Jenna as our post-partum doula was a wise choice. Upon entering our home, Jenna was very respectful of our rules and how we wanted things done. Our son took to Jenna immediately and would sleep in their arms. Jenna also offered light housekeeping assistance including washing dishes, laundering the baby's clothes and also preparing a bagel for me for breakfast!

The days we knew Jenna would be coming for her overnights, we were always less stressed and more at ease. My partner and I were able to get some much needed sleep during her time with us.

Jenna is truly a unique individual with a kind soul and uplifting spirit...the perfect sort of person we needed during the emotion-filled, sleepless, joyous few weeks after our child was born.

I could not recommend Jenna more highly.

Jenna was one of the best decisions we made as a couple to prepare for our son's birth. As first time parents, we spent a lot of time reading and attending classes to gain knowledge about the birthing process prior to chosing to hire a doula. Jenna went above and beyond what we expected, and prepared us emotionally and physically. She was an amazing advocate for me leading up to, during, and after the birth. I unintentionally had a natural birth and was incredibly grateful for Jenna's help navigating that process, at home and in the hospital. I highly recomend any parents, new and experienced, to utilize Jenna to prepare for the birth of your next child!

Jenna was my doula for the birth of my first child in March 2018. I didn’t even know what a doula was before I met her, but now I can’t even imagine going through labor and delivery without one and I am so glad that Jenna was the one by my side. I was super apprehensive about labor and delivery but Jenna helped put me at ease. My husband and I both appreciated how knowledgeable Jenna was about things and her philosophy about making educated decisions. I was hoping to have a vaginal birth but after being in labor for 24 hours and making minimal progress, the doctor said there was a good chance I would have to have a c-section. At that point, I was extremely discouraged and exhausted, and if it wasn’t for Jenna, I am sure that I would have ended up having a c-section. Instead, with her support, motivation, and encouragement, 12 hours later my beautiful baby girl was born. Jenna and my husband made a wonderful team and without them, I never would have gotten through two hours of pushing. The work that Jenna does is both sacred and beautiful and I am so grateful to have had her present at the birth of my daughter!

At a certain point in pregnancy my care provider asked a very simple but yet completely loaded question… what was my vision for birth? A feeling of overwhelm immediately grabbed me, as the battle between my rational mind and instinctive nature began. Through pregnancy, I had begun to recognize the dichotomy of being completely powerful but yet totally vulnerable to a process that is both natural and counterintuitive. I knew this would continue, and likely strengthen, during my birth experience. I envisioned labor as passionate, instinctual, and transformative, and hoped to birth my daughter naturally. In the same breath, I had so many questions, fears and doubts.

It was in this place of excitement and overwhelm that I met Jenna. In Jenna I found calm and support. Jenna’s presence throughout my pregnancy, labor and postpartum period brought grounding and simplicity in a time that felt both joyous and tumultuous. I felt safe to trust the innate rhythm between me and baby, and well supported by Jenna’s deep knowledge of pregnancy and birth. By holding space for my family and I, Jenna allowed me to explore my options, normalize a time that felt completely unpredictable, and connect to my own power and instincts. My relationship with Jenna helped me embrace love and peace during a journey full of countless opportunities to be overcome by fear.

There aren't enough superlatives to describe my experience of working with Jenna. Preparing to give birth for the first time is terrifying. I had no idea what to expect or how to plan or what to prepare. Jenna's guidance started long before I went into labor. Jenna took the time to sit down with me and my partner, to ask us extensive questions about what we wanted, and to craft a personalized birth plan that took into account our goals and needs and personalities. Childbirth wasn't what I expected because I couldn't possibly know what to expect. But Jenna helped me roll with the punches, kept me grounded, made me feel confident, and kept us focused on what was important. I had the birth experience I wanted and it was incredibly positive. Jenna also helped us process the childbirth experience postpartum. Again, pre-delivery I wouldn't have thought I'd want or need this, but it was exactly what I wanted and needed in the weeks after giving birth. Jenna was an absolute pleasure to work with and was an indispensable member of my birthing team.
