Nicole Nakano... where do I begin?! I had the pleasure of meeting Nicole through my midwives, and we quickly fell in love with her. She immediately gave off a warm, friendly vibe. The more we talked about our pregnancy and birth the more her expertise was made evident. Her gentle persona and expansive knowledge was what sealed the deal for us; we knew we wanted Nicole to be a part of our special experience of birthing a baby.

As first time parents, we came with lots of questions and anxieties around what was to come. Nicole‘s attentiveness around our concerns was extremely reassuring and comforting. She quickly responds to emails and texts, and she always provides me with resources to back her suggestions and advice.

When I went into labor, Nicole was there quickly to help. She was fully equipped with everything we could possibly need for laboring. My favorite thing she did to help with contractions was when she applied pressure to my hips with her hands. It helped ALOT. I felt completely comfortable with her the whole time, and she reassured me and encouraged me through the 16 hours of natural laboring at home. My husband raves about her and how thankful he was to have someone to help support him as well, as they both supported me. She was so attentive to my needs, and we got in a groove where I didn’t even need to talk to tell her what to do; Nicole just knew.

Since having my baby boy, Nicole has continued to be a rock of support to our family. She has helped me with tips on my healing body, my first time breastfeeding, and our new sleep routine, etc. She goes above and beyond with her clients and genuinely feels like family. She was without a doubt a vital piece in our birth story, and we can‘t imagine our birth story without Nicole in it. It is an honor to know this gem!

Nicole was such a huge support for me and my husband leading up to and during my labor. She is super sweet and has such a calm and loving aura that I felt very comfortable with her right away, and felt well taken care of during my labor. I knew I could trust her to support me and my husband in which ever way we needed, as she not only respected our wishes, but actively worked to support us throughout the whole experience. My husband was really thankful she was there to model and lead him in what he should do for me while I was in labor, and we both felt less scared about the whole thing since we weren't going at it alone!

She was especially great in giving us lots of information and recommendations on all sorts of things leading up to our birth, and also afterwards as well. She knew about all the various things I had looked up on my own, and was able to give me more ideas and options after we talked about them which was great, as well as helping me know what things to ask my OB about through the last few prenatal visits as I figured out what I wanted for my birth etc.

Overall, I felt validated in all my worries/concerns/hopes for my birth and well cared for by Nicole. She was always very quick to respond to both emails or texts, would contact me first to check in with me often.

I couldn't have asked for a better doula at my side, and am so grateful for all her effort and support! I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a doula!

Nicole was my doula for my second pregnancy, and the experience was amazing. She listened to all of my concerns (no matter how crazy they were) and what my goals were. My main concern was pain management while laboring at home before making it to the hospital for an epidural. I was pleasantly surprised with how many suggestions she had to help with these concerns. Even though we only had two meetings prior to the birth, it was evident that Nicole was not only thinking about me, but available to me for anything that I needed. She sent great information, and checked in with me regularly. When the time came, we headed to the hospital and I was so thankful that she was there. Regardless of the fact that my family was with me, it was great to have her calm, supportive energy in the delivery room. No delivery goes quite as planned, and mine was no exception.  From my husband nearly passing out and needing to step away, to heart rate concerns, to baby getting stuck for a length of time, Nicole never missed a beat. She stepped right in with her calm demeanor, to reassure me that everything was going to be alright...and it was. Looking back, I was so glad that she was at my side. Not only did she help with the act of laboring and delivering my baby, she provided lots of emotional support that I wasn't aware that I needed until I was in the thick of it.  I so enjoyed working with Nicole, and would love to one day work with her again!
