This was my second pregnancy, but first time having a doula! My first didn’t go as planned and I felt I was walked all over by the doctors and nurses, so I knew I wanted someone in my corner and to help me get through labor and delivery without an epidural. Marta was exactly that and more! I had multiple false alarms, with the first one being at 26 weeks. She called me and stayed on the phone with me a majority of the 45 minute car ride for the first one, as I was alone, and she helped keep me calm and know I wasn’t alone. She was more than ready and willing to be at the hospital anytime I had a scare or false alarm, which was amazing. It was great to have that support and comfort! She gave me useful information leading up to labor and sent me information on anything that I was unsure of. She was supportive of all of my wants and wishes which is amazing to have. When it comes to the labor and delivery, I barely got to the hospital, and she was there ASAP. She immediately jumped in and found the best way to be supportive of me. Having her by my side helped ease worries and give me that extra push to do it. She went above and beyond for everything, and I can’t imagine not having her there from the first meeting. I hope I’ll get to have her there if we decide to have more!
Marta was amazing. She dropped everything and ran to my side as soon as she found out my labor was progressing pretty precipitously. She had an instinct and knew exactly what I needed and where I was at in the process. I thank God, the universe, for sending Marta to me! If she had not been my doula I don’t think I would have had such a successful birth. Shes an expert and knew my stages and kept my midwife informed of what was happening. My daughters birth happened so fast that our midwife almost didn’t make it here. We had planned on going to the birth center but we had to go to plan B... A fast labor and birth is not always easy to manage but Marta stayed calm and had things under control. I would not have been able to do i without her.
I felt so honored to have Marta at our home birth. What an angel she is! I loved Marta’s attendance so much!!!! She came prepared & helped out every which way she could. She had wonderful knowledge that helped me fill in some gaps I was missing in supplies. She homemade what I needed quickly on the spot. She surprised me by how much support she gave & it was unexpected... not sure all doulas are like her and not saying I would expect her to need to give as much at every birth, but I think she saw a need and filled it because that is what her heart (and training) said to do. I loved that about her, she follows her heart & is so beautiful in her loving ways!! She must be that kind of person so she happens to be that kind of doula.
Her body is so wonderful! She smells amazing (I am hyper sensitive about in labor) & she has the most awesome sweet calming energy. She has all these amazing super soft qualities about her & yet she is absolutely one of the strongest people I have ever met. She is not afraid to stand up & speak up when she is guided by what is a better option for momma & baby, but it is so unassuming, has a way of speaking openly about the good stuff. This is so valuable today. ( I previously did not have with another doula at my first birth in a hospital.)
I loved ever time she touched me. Her hands have higher energy, almost like Reiki, another totally unexpected quality. I had the 100% feeling Marta was “present” in her mind for my baby & me.
She has both great energy & that sixth sense feeling & also seems to have a deep knowledge of current articles as well; she has both to help guide us! She always seems to know something deeper & more current than I have read.
Many people in the world have gifts they share & I am so happy that Marta has decided to be a doula. It is a gift to us all & she is perfect for it!
Marta came into my life just in time when I was about 38 weeks pregnant. She was so kind and patient and I felt comfortable with her immediately. She made it clear she was available for me and stayed in touch by text and phone calls almost daily until I went into labor at 41.5 weeks. She had so much wisdom and was Very calm and soothing. My partner was unable to attend the birth because he was overseas and so her presence and support was much appreciated. She helped me to labor in different positions and was with me all day and night at the hospital. Due to some complications with my baby, I wound up needing an emergency c-section. It was not my wish or plan but Marta was there to support me. She gave great advice and helped my baby latch for breast feeding right after she was born. Baby has been a breast feeding champ ever since. I am thankful for Marta‘s care, knowledge and experience. She helped me through a super challenging labor and delivery and I am thankful she will always be apart of our birth story and memories. She is especially great with holistic remedies and options and is so lovely and soothing. I am very grateful to her and her help.
Marta is an amazing doula! When I found out I was pregnant (my first baby) I had no idea how I was going to get through the process of pregnancy and specially labor and delivery. Meeting Marta was such a blessing because she was able to give me a ton of information on how to prepare for the delivery day; ways on how to relax prior to getting to the date and also while being on labor. She gave me book suggestions, welcomed me into mom circles so that I could hear other mom’s experiences and get an idea of how labor and delivery works.
On the day of delivery, I had a scheduled induction; she was there with me for almost 20 hours. Throughout all that time, she was making sure I was getting everything I needed. When the contractions got very painful, she suggested getting in the shower under hot water and that was THE BEST thing she could have suggested. Being in hot water was the only thing that helped me get through the painful contractions. While being in the water she massaged me and hit pinpoints in my hands to help control the pain. She was also an advocate for me with medical staff and even with my own family because she understood how I felt and what and whom I needed there with me.
Even after birth, she still followed up with me on whatever I needed, such as breastfeeding and other new subjects to me. Up until today, 7 months later, she still follows up to see how I’m doing. There are so many things she did with me and I will forever thank her for all her amazing help. I honestly don’t know how I would have gotten through labor and delivery without her.
