Karen was our doula for the birth of our first child, and we are really pleased with how labor and birth went. Karen read us well and knew that we wanted the labor and birth experience to be mostly between the two of us with as little medical intervention as possible. We spent the pre birth appointments making our expectations of each other clear and reviewing strategies for unmedicated labor and delivery. Karen was there for us every step of the way, always available but never intrusive or presumptuous. Response times were always very quick. In the end, my labor and delivery went very smoothly-it was exactly how I’d hoped it would be. The night before my 40 week appointment I told Karen I was going to have my membranes swept the next day-she suggested, without judgment, that I take a walk that evening and maybe I would be able to skip the induction. She was right-I went into labor that night and had my baby without any needles or medications the next morning. It was the perfect labor and delivery. Karen very wisely asked if it would be okay to capture the birth on video, and while I didn’t think I’d want that, I felt I did, so I agreed and I’m so thankful I have those videos now. They are a treasure. Karen made sure I was fed and watered after delivery and reviewed breastfeeding techniques and other questions I had postpartum. We were both so thankful to have here there during this process. Your labor and delivery will go more smoothly with Karen!

Karen served in my home as my post partum Doula after the birth of my second baby. I immediately knew upon meeting Karen she was going to work well in my home during a very special time in our lives. Karen was much more than I expected. She was an integral part of my healing process, both physically & emotionally. At our initial meeting we went over the things I could use help with after the birth of my baby. Everyday she was in my home she used her time wisely (multitasking is an understatement!) and went above and beyond! Karen was wonderful with my 20 month old daughter as well. She would read books and play with her when my daughter needed attention and I was caring for my newborn. Karen is very intuitive, calm, and professional. I would highly recommend Karen to any family who may need support after the birth of a child. Karen cared for me so I could care for my babies and for that, I will forever be grateful.

Karen walker was the best! Karen had plenty of information on what how who and more, she was very wonderful and well  Prepared. When it came to my labor she was on it. Karen had her bags ready and had other items ready and handy to use for me to help ease my labor pains and to get me  Comfortable while my contractions were coming closer to each other. Karen always knew her boundaries she never step on our toes, she took down notes Which helped me out because I couldn't remember everything That was going on while in pain nurses doctors coming in-and-out from my room. Karen Walker would be the best choice for dula! She was great. I would give her 5 stars out of 5.
