Olivia was kind, knowledgeable, and caring-the qualities that we were most looking for in a doula. We immediately clicked with her warm personality. She was a great support in the in the last month of pregnancy, available by phone and text, when I was trying to have a unmedicated birth but being pressured from my OB to be induced early. When I went into labor, Olivia supported both my husband and I through the process and contractions. During early labor I remember she massaged my ankles with the most amazing smelling oil. Once we got to the hospital, I was so relieved to have Olivia help us make informed decision and give us confidence in the choices we made. I ended up laboring in the hospital for a long time and in total Olivia was with us for 27 hrs straight, supporting, guiding, and encouraging both my husband and I. We didn't eat or sleep and neither did she, she was there every minute. I couldn't have made it through my labor on my own terms without her. When I lost faith in myself and the process, she was there, telling me how awesome I was doing, how amazing my body was doing, how I would soon meet my son. Hiring a doula was an expense for us but it was the best decision my husband and I made and we were so blessed to have had Olivia there with for the birth of our son!
I still remember the morning when I contact you crying that my doctor didn’t want to wait any longer for my labor to start,I was 41 weeks and devasted, after my first c section, this news was not that good for my mental health. Olivia had no idea who I was and in short time she asked me all the details she needed so she can tell me afterwards that I need to relax, enjoy these last days and listen to my body. I did what she told me, I went home and in two days my baby decided to meet us. In exactly one week, my baby, my litlle miracle will turn one, time flies for sure, but its amazing how I remember every hour of my labor, every moment Olivia was there with us, so many km apart but this amazing lady was living every moment of our journey with us,the people she met online two days ago. We used facetime, messages, calls, she sent images, she spoke with my husband during the time I just couldnt bare the pain, she was awake just to help us. I feel I can’t have enough words to say how much gratitude I have for you Olivia. You are so kind and I feel really lucky we met you. Thank you for every hour of our journey, you will always be in my heart and I look forward the day we will meet. With so much love and respect , Antonia, Florin and our little dragons?????????????
Olivia is exceptional doula!!! At my birth she put all her heart into encouraging me, guiding me, making me strong! She acted not like a doula but like a true sister! Great co-walker on the path of the most extreme and important experience in the life of a woman! I say extreme cause my labor was extreme: 67 hours of contractions after my water broke. And she was there to support me every step of the way! Thank you so much, Olivia!!!!
Olivia is a wonderful doula, and I would highly recommend her to anyone. She was responsive, even in the middle of the night, and throughout my 26 hour labour. She was my rock, I was determined to have a natural birth and I don’t think I could have done it without her. She is understanding, dependable and very knowledgeable. THank you for your neverending support x (and your calm!)
Being Pregnant comes with 1,000 worries and what feels like 1,000 different possibilities for what might be my birthing experience. There's so much to worry about and after having my first daughter, a high-risk pregnancy, I knew I would need someone who I could count on to be there and understand what I was going through. To help me find the calmness in the storm and that was Olivia. She was absolutely incredible!! She helped me in ways I didn't think were possible. When I became worried or scared, I would call her and she was always helpful!! Calming me down, letting me know that it was okay to worry! And when it came time to have my beautiful daughter, she was there for every incredible push, encouraging me, holding me, it's like she was pushing herself!! I had 2 false labors, she was there for both!! I never had to ask her to do anything! She just did it. And she always seemed to know exactly what to do! She wasn't just there for during my birth but my whole pregnancy. She was like a best friend and I am forever grateful for her!
"There are no enough words for me to describe how grateful we are for the support, guidance and confidence that we received from Doula Olivia Farcas. We had a successful VBAC on April 8th 2018 after laboring for almost two days. She was my rock, my coach, my fairy-tale godmother, all in one word. Olivia taught me how to breathe, how to cope with the labor and all this while I had to keep my abdomen relaxed. She had me switching positions, sipping water, going to the bathroom, resting between contractions and taking them one by one. There were moments when I wanted to give up, I was tired, exhausted and with excruciating pain. She was there to comfort me, constantly empowering me and keep reminding me that when I think that I CAN’T no more, I actually CAN much more.
Thank you Olivia for being with us for the entire time, for normalizing the process, for your professionalism and for making our VBAC happen!
She is the best!
She was very suportive and without she I think I would not have resisted!
When it was harder for me, she was my relief!
A doula is a good friend in labor! ??????
Thank you very very very much!!!
I had 2 deliveries: at my first one my husband was my only support person and he did the best that he could; at my second one I had my husband as a support person and doula Olivia Farcas.
Based on these two experiences I can tell what a huge difference our doula made . She gave me so much confidence, inspired me to stay strong, to stay focused on my pain management techniques, directed my husband on different ways he could help me and support me and helped me to reach my goal of having a natural, unmedicated birth.
I feel like besides guiding me and my husband through the labor and delivery she actually worked with me: she was breathing with me, she was counting with me, she was praying with me , she was reminding me of my streght and my ultimate goal: my baby.
If I had to summarize the entire " doula experience" that we had would be that - Having a doula during labor and delivery is like having an Angel next to you making sure you are doing great and constantly giving you extra strenght.
Having a baby should be a great memory.... not a terrifying one.
Thank you, doula Olivia Farcas for your professionalism, your dedication and all your effort and help in making this a memorable experience!
I managed VBAC after 1y9m. Olivia Farcas was my angel, who advised me, and helped me over all the challenges. I know my words are poor, Olivia, to express my gratitude and the merit of this success! I love you ! I got to the hospital after 24 hours, stressed that I did not understand the evolution of contractions and if the baby was ok. I had a dilation 2 ... only 2. CTG did not look well, we decided to stay. After monitoring, they realized it was just about inappropriate compression, what Olivia had already told me, she advised me to change my position. After 5 hours, I was in dilation 5. Because I was placed on the bed for monitoring, after 3 hours it was no progress. At Olivia's advice, because I felt like I was saying goodbye to my dream birth, I asked them to be intermittently monitored. The doctor came at one time and said that if I did not make progress at 14 o'clock, it would break my membranes. The midwives came in turn and told me to make an epidural, because they came so many after me and they gave birth and the pains would be getting bigger. Good luck with Olivia, who explained to me what it meant and I decided not to accept to break my membranes or epidural. We stayed with expansion 7 until 18.30. Olivia came up with the wonderful idea of ??kneeling. I only resisted 2 contractions, because I felt more painful than I imagined I can endure. The dr. Interrupted me from my attempts to progress, to monitor the baby. Lying on my back, I jumped from 7 to 10, but the membranes intact. Olivia told me that dr could break the membranes. There is God and on the next 4 contractions I succeeded in the expulsion. I love you, Olivia, and I am eternally grateful to you! Because of your advice, I would not have done it ! You were patient, you encouraged me, you knew and felt alongside with me the labour even though you were thousands of miles away ! I love you ! Recommended !
