Birth Fee: $800 to $1250
Fee Details: In addition to birth doula services, I also offer birth photography and childbirth classes. I take clients on my own, as well as through an agency, Virginia Is For Doulas. On my own I provide 1 prenatal visit, call and text support, on-call availablility for in-person birth support from 38-42 weeks, and 1 post-partum visit. I always have a backup doula lined up in case of an emergency. Through the agency clients are able to benefit from additional support (online payment options, additional call and text support, connections with other birth Doulas, lactation consultants, post-partum Doulas, photographers and more) Through the agency, clients receive support from a team of Doulas, who share the call time and back each other up, without the need of an unknown backup. I can provide particular support for VBACs, since my own first two births were C-sections, and I have since had 3 homebirth VBA2Cs. I have a wealth of knowledge and experience in achieving VBAC, balancing risks and benefits of VBAC, healing physically and emotionally following a C-section, and avoiding C-section in general. I also offer a particular VBAC class for parents planning a VBAC.

Monica is an awesome doula! She was so calm and supportive during my pregnancy and labor. She's knowledgeable and easy to talk to. She really knows her stuff! I wish I would have hired her for my first birth because I think she would have made it a much better experience. I'm so glad she was there to support me during my labor with my second baby. I got the peaceful water birth that I wanted, and she played a big part in that. If I ever decide to have another baby, I would absolutely hire her again. I highly recommend Monica!
Monica was our doula and she was outstanding. My husband was deployed during the latter part of the pregnancy, through the birth and until the baby was 7 months. I knew I would need support, not only during the birth but throughout the entire transition into motherhood. Monica exceeded my expectations of care throughout her entire service. Her birth class was informative and knowledgeable. She is very approachable and extremely insightful regarding the whole gamut from prenatal exercise to nutrition to baby positioning to mental health to postpartum healing, etc. She was ready with suggestions for homeopathy, herbal treatments, aromatherapy, acupressure and more. During the birth she was able to coach me through an unmedicated 19 hour labor. Her compassion and physical stamina (massage and acupressure etc.,) throughout the process was remarkable. If you think I’m being over the top, try massaging someone for 8 hours! It’s exhausting. After the birth, Monica provided guidance for nursing and followed up with postpartum meetings. Her passion for helping women find empowerment through pregnancy, birth and postpartum is evident in her naturally gifted ability to do so. She will care for you like you didn’t know you needed.
