I recently retired from La Leche League to focus on doula work. I am a member of Space Coast Doulas, a local doula co-op. I also teach an 8 week comprehensive childbirth education series focusing on natural childbirth and partner/doula support.

Ashton! Where do I even begin? I’ve never met someone as genuine as her in my life. She lives her life in a way I wish more people did. She follows her calling daily and makes mother’s dreams come true in growing their families. I met her by chance at an event and my husband and I knew instantly we wanted her as our doula. No matter how we had to make it happen, we knew we wanted her in our corner. My husband and I took her eight week class and after we completed it we felt so ready to welcome our son. She was supportive and answered any and all questions never moving on until we were comfortable. Ashton went over and beyond - even if that meant attending THREE births in THREE days. She constantly through my entire labor and birth stood in the gap and made sure I understood each and every step (in a way doctors, nurses and midwives just don’t do.) She didn’t leave until we were completely comfortable and settled. Ashton is incredible and I would eagerly encourage all mothers to get a doula. And if Ashton is available she is the BEST, I promise. I personally will refer Ashton forever.
We are so thankful for Ashton and everything she did for us! We took the natural childbirth class and hired her as our doula. Ashton is well educated, kind and professional. She was never overbearing in any way and was supportive through my pregnancy, delivery and postpartum. Ashton’s experience, wisdom and encouragement made her well worth hiring. You can tell that Ashton has a passion for what she does; we would absolutely hire her again!
I was preparing for my third child when I went searching for a new birth instructor. It had been 10 years since my last birth, and 15 years since my last birthing class. I needed a refresher to say the least. My husband and I attended 12 weeks of Bradley Method Childbirth classes with Ashton Gelzinis as our instructor. We looked forward to each week. It was my husbands first class, and he was surprised at just how much he needed to learn before the baby came. Ashton was exceptionally informative, but it didn’t feel like a classroom. It felt like a bonding retreat. We always left feeling like our relationship was stronger than it had been when we arrived. Ashton also always answered our questions in a very kind and nonjudgmental way. At times I had to bring my daughter with me and Ashton was very patient with her. She was also always available to answer our questions even outside of our class, and that is still the case 2 years later. When my daughter was having a failure to thrive, Ashton guided me through some of my breastfeeding journey. She also did my placental encapsulation. It is as if she is a birth guru. I did not have the experience of having Ashton attend my birth, but if I had chosen a doula she would be my first call!
Ashton was amazing. I learned so much more about myself and how capable my body is to have a baby. I wish I had known about the Bradley Method when I had my first child. I would highly recommend that you take this class because you will receive so much support and encouragement in your pregnancy journey.
Four years ago, my husband, Matt and I, decided to take a birth class to aid in the birth of our first child. I was experiencing some minor issues during my pregnancy, and was told an epidural would not be an option. That’s when we found out that our friend Ashton, was teaching the Bradley Method. Ashton was so passionate about natural birth, and husband coached childbirth. Ashton was extremely knowledegable about natural childbirth, and helped us become more comfortable with the idea of natural childbirth. After 14 weeks of childbirth classes, we were ready to meet our daughter. We were fully prepared and ready for our planned natural childbirth with our birth plan in action, but our baby had other plans. I was induced at 38 weeks, 3 days. I was given 3 platelet transfusions, and ended up with an epidural. We labored for 36 hours, and in the end had a c-section. Our natural birth did not go as planned, but we were able to use the knowledge Ashton taught us to continue with as many natural options for our baby after she was born. One of which was breastfeeding. I’m proud to say that after a very hard beginning to our breastfeeding journey, we made it 27 months of breastfeeding. Breastfeeding was everything to me since we didn’t have our natural childbirth. Ashton was there for us every step of the way, and was always a phone call, or text away. I know now, that no matter how your child comes into the world, it doesn’t make you any less of a mother. Ashton helped us prepare for a natural childbirth, and her teachings even carried us through to having our second child. I labored for 3 days after my membranes spontaneously ruptured 6 weeks early. During those 3 days, I was able to utilize the Bradley Method, until I had my second c-section. We are so thankful to Ashton for introducing us to the Bradley Method.
My husband and I had the pleasure of doing the bradly method class with Ashton. She taught us how to truly enjoy the laboring process. I've loved how she taught my husband how to support me though labor and will forever be greatufl the experience of bringing our little boys into the world. Ashton is professionl yet so personal that no matter what happens she will be there for you and family and make your labor a beautiful experience. I don't know about everyone else but I'm a bit of a control freak...except you can't control anything with labor. Needles to say Ashton knew the answer to every single one of my questions and made me feel so ready for labor. You can't go wrong with Ashton!
Ashton is amazing! She was my Bradley coach and my husband and I are so grateful for her. The amount of information and encouragement we recieved is priceless to us. Because of her we had two beautiful and completely natural births, the absolute best days of my life! Everything we learned we were able to apply on delivery day. She also helped me with the after care of nursing and even figuring out my baby sling. She was always there to answer my questions and be there for us. Childbirth can be scary but she was a huge support every step of the way, she is the reason we were able to do it. Ashton is caring, knowledgeable, empowering and encouraging. The exact person you want by your side, we are so thankful for her!
Ashton helped my husband and I learn the tools we needed to give birth to our beautiful baby girl! She addresses our fears, helped us come up with a birth plan, and taught us the ins and outs of what it is actually like to give birth. When you are in labor you have choices as to how to go through your delivery. Those choices are not necessarily explained to you in the delivery room by the doctors and medical staff - Not because they don’t want to but because they are used to following a regular protocol - which is incredibly useful and certainly good for you and baby. However, Ashton went through all of the other alternative ways we can go through labor - asking for certain things (like a hot shower to help with pain) and other things we may not have known about if it weren’t for our class with Ashton (like a birthing ball - btw it’s a lifesaver). I highly recommend taking classes with Ashton - and I WISH I had the foresight to ask her to be our doula.
I first met Ashton when my husband and I decided we wanted to do a Bradley Method birthing class for our first baby, and she was the instructor. We decided a few weeks in that we also wanted her to act as our Doula during the birth, because we were having a hospital birth and wanted to make sure we had someone who knew exactly what we did and did not want when it came to labor and delivery. We really liked Ashton's personality and felt very comfortable with having her in the delivery room. I am so glad we had Ashton because my water broke at 36 weeks and my husband and I were completely shocked and overwhelemed, as I was considered as having low risk pregnancy and this was totally unexpected! Ashton was so helpful and calm through the entire experience. She never inserted herself, but allowed my husband and I to experience labor and birth while being our beacon of information and support. Anytime the nurses would say or do anything I wasn't sure about, I turned to Ashton for guidance. Even though I think my husband did an amazing job by my side, we both agreed that just having Ashton's presence calmed us down and allowed me to focus on delivery. She was also able to take some priceless pictures during the birth, that I will forever cherish, and encapsulated my placenta and brought it by the next day while checking on me and baby. I would absolutely recommend Ashton as a doula!
Ashton was such a calm, encouraging presence in our delivery room. Her constant attentiveness and vast knowledge of childbirth and relaxation methods helped us feel at peace through every stage of our non-medicated labor. She was also there to make sure we had support choosing the medical options that fit most closely with our birth plan. We would definitely recommend her to anyone seeking a doula!
Ashton was so supportive. I had a c-section and she was by my side once my husband left to be with our baby. She talked with me and told me what the doctor was doing and she kept me company until my procedure was done. Ashton then came with me in the recovery room and helped me and my baby to nurse for the first time. I am so happy I was able to have her by my side.
