The best thing I did is I picked Jessica as my doula. From the start she was energetic, resourceful and informative. She always answered my questions. She helped me apply spinning babies techniques. She helped me make the right decisions by providing me with her great advices and recommendations. She was also very patient and was pumping energy and providing useful suggestions when things weren't going great in the delivery room. I highly recommend her for any pregnant woman
Jessica was the first doula my husband and I interviewed, and after meeting her we knew we found our doula! And we have no regrets or negative feedback for her. She was very thorough in getting to know us, the birth we envisioned, our preferences, and all that important stuff. She also gave us detailed tips and advice for everything pregnancy, delivery, and baby-related. Her doula work itself on labor day was superb. She was always at attention to me during every contraction, and gave the best hip squeezes which truly took the edge off of every painful contraction. She was also very helpful to my husband, and helped him take an active part in laboring for this baby. Unfortunately, my birth took a different course than we expected, but Jessica was very supportive the whole way through. She even made an intuitive call that was arguably life-saving for the baby! Besides all this, she is an amazing person and someone our family would now call a friend. She values the personal relationships that can be built from the birthing experience, and she says it’s all worth it in the end to see a happy family with a brand new baby. I couldn’t recommend her enough, and I will surely be asking her to be our doula again in the future!
My husband and I met Jessica at the "Meet the Doulas" event at the Monterey Birth Center. My husband and I immediately knew we wanted to hire her base on her flexibility regarding our birth wants. We were aiming for an unmedicated childbirth in a hospital setting. Jessica was friendly and professional during the end of the last trimester, she provided additional research when asked. During my labor, Jessica was excellent at creating a home-like environment in the hospital setting. I had a very smooth and easy unmedicated labor and Jessica was an integral part of my birth team who helped me achieve this. This was my first child and Jessica helped me achieve my ideal birth plan. I think that anyone who is looking for extra labor support, should hire Jessica, whether a home birth, birth center, or hospital.
Jessica has a warm, caring, enthusiastic presence that eased my pregnancy and labor experience from our first meeting. she is an incredible listener, and was skilled in helping this worried mama understand and address anxieties as they arose. She not only helped me write up a birth plan that worked for me, she also spent lots of time talking me through each aspect of the plan and helped me to understand what I wanted out of the birth experience. As a second time parent, I had a lot of fears about some things that had had not gone the way I wanted during my first labor experience; Jessica helped me to allay those concerns and helped me to change the narrative for this delivery.
Jessica always listened to what I wanted and needed from our work together, and I felt I could trust her right away. She was quickly and cheerfully available whenever I contacted her, and she regularly went above and beyond the call of duty, providing extra information and encouragement when needed. She checked in regularly and always made me feel cared for and supported. Jessica was the calm and reasurring presence I needed during my birthing experience, too, especially as my husband was not able to make it to the hospital in time; I was able to rely on her 100% during labor and postpartum, and she helped me every step of the way.
Jessica is a wonderful doula, and it is clear that she has found her calling in helping and empowering women in their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experiences. I will absolutely seek her out again, and I highly recommend her services.
Our experience with Jessica was fantastic. She was integral in us getting used to being first time parents and we couldnt have asked for better support. We live in a pretty hard to reach area and the fact that Jessica was able to come out and help us over night is something we will forever be grateful for. she is knowledgable and respectable. She was able to provide us with tips and tricks while also giving us some much needed rest. Truly a wonderful experience and i would recommend her for any new parent!
I was blessed to have Jessica as my doula for my first baby. I cannot recommend her enough for anyone looking for constant support throughout your whole pregnancy, nonstop massages during labor (which was a lifesaver), and lots excellent coaching throughout! She is super knowledgable, organized, and very clearly has a calling and gifting to be a doula.
I was able to labor at home until I was 5 cm dialted-- something I wouldn't have been comfortable enough to do without Jessica's support. It was such a good decision, and I felt like it sped things along faster than it would have in the hospital. At the hospital, we were able to try a lot of different positions which also helped things progress more quickly. She tirelessly massaged me, coached me, and helped me push for over 2.5 excruciating hours. In the end, I had an unmedicated, vaginal birth, and I greatly attribute it to Jessica. I don’t think I could have done it without her. Thank you, Jessica!
Jessica was everything we wanted in a doula and more. Before my water even broke, Jessica was easily accessible and whenever I had a question I would text her and she would promptly respond. This had such a calming effect on my husband and I who were first time parents. We met twice before the birth and she advised us on our birth plan and what we had envisioned for our birth. Ultimately, our labor didn’t go as planned but Jessica was there to help us navigate that as well.
We ended up having our baby girl at Community Hospital Monterey Peninsula. My water had broke that morning on a walk and Jessica advised I stay home and labor as much as I could at home. She had me time my contractions and consulted me the entire time. That evening things got away from our birth plan when I started vomiting every time I had a contraction. We went to the hospital and she met us there ready to go. Initially I had wanted an unmedicated birth but the cycle of vomiting and contractions got to be too much. My husband and I decided on an epidural and Jessica walked us through the process as it was happening.
Around five in the morning I was completely dilated and ready to push. Jessica not only guided us through the last stretch of labor but she also acted as a liaison between us and the hospital staff.
We had an amazing hospital birth and I know in my heart of hearts that a big reason for that is because of Jessica. I highly recommend her to couples who like to be informed and want to know about their labor while it is happening.
Once our baby girl was home Jessica came to our home and talked us through our first weeks with our baby. She explained things to us that my doctor and the baby’s pediatrician had negated to inform us on. I felt empowered and ready to parent after Jessica came and met with us.
Thank you for all you did for our family Jessica. I can not express my gratitude enough. You were an integral part of our team!
Jessica was my doula for the birth of my second child and hiring her was by far the best decision I could have made. I hired her the week before my daughter was born and I was blessed that she chose to work with me on such late notice. She is an open, caring, supportive, loving soul who has a true passion for babies and mammas. She encouraged me to find my own voice and speak my own wishes before and during labor, which is sometimes hard for me to do.
jessica encouraged me and stood by me and walked with me for HOURS of labor, and I do mean hours! My labor was long and I was in the hospital for 1.5 days before I actually delivered. She meshed so well with the hospital staff and nurses that afterwards they privately told me ”she is the type of doula that we love to have here. She is welcomebacm any time!” She must have the type of spirit that allows her to see whats needed and she simply provides.
During the final stages of my labor, my baby girl’s heart rate began dropping and Jessica’s calm and steady presence was the most amazingly reassuring feeling. I truly feel that ny her being there my body relaxed enough to be able to deliver instead of having the emergency C-Section that almost happened. My sweet girl came into this world to the sounds of laughter in the delivery room instead of trauma.
After the birth, Jessica was again attentive to my needs, which were for solitude and a chance to have quiet to bond with my new little one. She made Sure I was ok and that I didn’t need her to stay, then she went home to her own babies and checked on me by phone frequently, allowing me to both feel her absolute support and to have my calm and quiet that I desperately needed. I knew if I needed her, she was there.
jessica is truly an amazing woman and a wonderful doula.
Jessica was my doula for my third pregnancy. She helped me accomplish my goal in having a natural birth with no pain medication. Since our first meeting there was an instant connection and comfort between the both of us. She always has very useful information. If I ever brought up a tropic she was quick on doing research to have an answer for me. Her presence in L&D was very helpful to me and my husband. I was able to focus my breathing while my husband supported me. I was so happy that Jessica took the time to take photos for us. Precious memories! After delivery she stayed with us for a couple hours which was great because we we’re able to go over the whole labor since it all happened so fast. I would recommended Jessica in a heart beat to any expecting mom looking for guidance and support.
Not only did I have a doula for the first time, I also gained a friend!
Jessica was my L&D Doula for my first baby and she was wonderful. I would highly recommend her to all. She was easy to reach, very professional, and compassionate about the work that she does. She provided me with lots of information which was very helpful as a first time mom as well as gave me words of advice and encouragement. She had answers to my questions And put my mind at ease when I was concerned. During the pregnancy she tended to me and my husband as we worked through the process naturally Sutter birthing center. She stayed with us for a few hours after the birth and gave additional support in the days and weeks after my delivery. She has continued to check in with me in the weeks and months after the birth. I truly do appreciate it. I am beyond grateful for the support she gave us during this crazy time. I would gladly recommend her services to all and can’t wait to work with her again in the future.
