The main reason we hired a doula for the birth of our first child was for the physical support to help me through labor. What we didn’t expect was the emotional support that Raquel provided. I honestly don’t know what we would have done without her. I had a very hard labor emotionally and physically. Raquel was my rock. She knew what to say to help ease my fears and made sure I knew what everything going on around me meant. We got to bring home a healthy baby and that was the only part of our birth that went as we had hoped. Raquel helped us understand and deal with all of the things that we had not prepared for. She was the one thing that remained consistent during our rollercoaster birth experience. She is knowledgeable, dedicated, hard working, kind, empathetic and reliable. She is everything you want in a doula and more! We won’t give birth without Raquel by our side and I would highly recommend her to anyone giving birth.

I don't know what I would have done without Raquel during the course of my first labor and delivery! Her presence was very calming and helpful. The best part was having her there to guide me through the early stages of labor. It was so nice to have help (through texts and phone calls) deciding if and when to go to the hospital. Prior to this pregnancy, I had only heard of doulas, but wasn't fully aware of the services they could provide. Knowing what I do now, I think every woman should consider using a doula, and I highly recommend Raquel!

Raquel’s calm and steady presence throughout my pregnancy and during labor made all the difference in our ability to have the natural birth we wanted, despite experiencing some unforeseen and frightening medical complications.  She was there every step of the way and not only supported me, but also my husband.  She provided comfort measures, tips for positioning, reminders to stay hydrated and nourished, and toward the very end of my labor it was her voice I tuned into to successfully breathe through the most difficult stages.  She is truly gifted and deeply cares about her clients and their outcomes.  I would HIGHLY recommend her if you are considering hiring a doula!

Raquel at Elevated Birth did a fantastic job. She helped us prepare for birth by providing us with referrals for a wonderful chiropractor, helping us plan our birth, and giving us quality resources to prepare us for birth and parenthood. She provided prenatal visits as well as postpartum visits. She was key to the successful birth of our little girl. She also gave useful pointers for breastfeeding to help ease my wife into that. I would definitely recommend her to anyone seeking a doula for a home birth.

We decided to hire a doula for the birth of our 2nd child at home. When we met Raquel, my husband and I were both instantly comfortable with her. She is kind hearted and well educated about labor. She was great about providing recommendations/resources for subjects that came up from postpartum depression to labor photography and was very responsive over text with any questions that I had prior to labor. Once labor came, I was shocked at how much smoother things progressed with her help. She was great about allowing my husband to be my primary emotional support person but also showing him how to use specific techniques to comfort me physically. There were times when I wanted only her which gave my husband a break too since it was a long labor! She helped me stay active by suggesting different positions and showed me how to move and work with my body to keep things progressing. Raquel provided so much encouragement in reminding me how strong I was. I felt super empowered and absolutely loved this experience! It was an amazing way to welcome our son into the world and I'm so glad she was with us. I wish I had understood the benefit of having a doula the first time around. It made all the difference!

Raquel was the best decision we made when we found out that we were pregnant with baby #2! From the moment we hired her, she we felt so much more peaceful about pregnancy and labor and delivery. She was a resource to us throughout my entire pregnancy and always provided support in the decisions we chose to make. Raquel has such a warm personality and she was exactly what I knew I would need in labor. She provided so much comfort and peace to my laboring environment and was our biggest encourager! She was very thorough in understanding our goals and wishes for our pregnancy, labor and delivery experience and made sure to guide us in our birth wishes coming true! She is very knowledgeable when it comes to all things pregnancy, labor and delivery and how to make it an enjoyable experience. She provided so much comfort for me when I was in labor and provided love and support in whatever way my husband and I needed. She also has the BEST hip squeezes for back labor! We had an all natural birth thanks to Raquel! If you are pregnant or are thinking about getting pregnant, she is a MUST! ♥?

Raquel was a fabulous doula! She was a great resource throughout the pregnancy. Everytime I had a question or needed a referral she was quick to answer and help me find what I needed.

The day I went into labor she was very prompt to answer me even very early in the morning. She was supportive and help me determine when it was best to have her join us. I had a pretty fast labor for a first time mom so I was so glad that she made it in a timely manner and she was so on top of things and made sure that the midwives got there ASAP. During the labor she took such good care of me and my husband she keep us hydrated and helped the midwives with whatever they needed. Since labor was so fast I did tear pretty severely and needed to go to the hospital for stiches. She was so helpful during the process and stay by my side and supported me while my husband stayed home with our new baby.

After the birth she followed up with me several times and help me with breastfeeding which was wonderful!

I would highly recommend Raquel to anyone and would definitely hire her again for future births of my own.

Raquel is a great doula and all together just a wonderful person! She has helped me throughout my 48-hour labor (with just a very well-deserved quick night break) and she kept up with my constant questions before, during and after I started labor. Raquel’s insights help my labor progress well, as my water broke and not much was happening. Even during the last stage of laboring, she helped holding my leg because my husband was scared of everything that was going on. Raquel is kind and knows very well when to step in and take charge of the situation, but also is very aware when you need your space! I would definitely refer her to anybody that is looking for support and knowledge before, during and after giving birth. I love my doula and would use her for my future births (if I will be blessed again to have that chance)!

We are so thankful we decided to hire Raquel early on in my pregnancy. We had our initial meeting with her and felt she was so calm, knowledgeable and personable and we would be comfortable with her during labor. I wanted a doula especially because I already had a high risk pregnancy and then, for reasons unrelated to that original risk, I delivered via emergency c-section at 31 weeks. Raquel dropped everything and met us as the hospital. She walked us through what was going to happen in the OR and really was a calming presence during a very scary situation. She was able to get me cool rags as I waited to be prepped for the OR and explain what the doctors/nurses were doing, and keep my husband calm ?? After I delivered she was able to scrub into the OR and literally held my hand while they finished the surgery so my husband could go with our baby to the  NICU, she took photos during the whole process, she even stayed with me in Recovery and fed me ice chips until my husband came and read me updates from my husband about our baby. Afterward, she made sure I got back to my room OK and in the following days stopped by my hospital room to help with breastfeeding tips and later on even came to the NICU to check on us. We are so thankful she was able to be there for us on such short notice and jumped right in to help us in any way she could. I would highly recommend using Raquel!

Raquel was an amazing help for the birth of our son. We had a home birth and she was instrumental in me making it through his 30 hour labor! Her calm, strong, supportive demeanor was everything I needed. I was worried about feeling comfortable through the birth process with someone we had only met a few times, but I felt so at ease with her support. She helped my husband be my main support during labor and also made the process much easier on him!

She also provided us with post partum doula services. Picking up groceries, cooking delicious, fresh, healthy meals, storing leftovers, laundry, dishes - all the things that are so difficult those first few days and weeks. It gave us time to nap, enjoy our son and just breathe.

My husband and I both strongly recommend Raquel to anyone considering a doula!

I am so grateful that we had Raquel with us during the pregnancy and birth of my first child.  She was supportive throughout my pregnancy, answering questions, checking in on me, helping me write my birth plan, and talking me through all the different options.  During the birth, she was extremely supportive, calming, and helpful for both myself and my husband.  Her presence definitely helped us to achieve the positive birth experience we were hoping for.

Raquel worked as our post birth doula. She came to our house periodically for four hour shifts over the first 3 months of my baby's life. She was such a huge help! She played with and occupied my toddler while I attended to the baby and got some rest, she helped with cleaning, laundry, cooking and even picked up my groceries! She was so comfortable and easy to be around and just happy to help with whatever I asked of her. My two year old loved her too. She was great with my baby as well. I kind of wish she could just live with me 24/7! Thanks Raquel for helping me adjust to my fifth child so well. We love you!

We moved to Idaho from out of state just four weeks before I gave birth to my third child. We only met with Raquel twice before I went into labor (two weeks early) but I felt comfortable with her right away. Just as with my two previous deliveries, I wanted this one to be as natural as possible and have as little interventions as necessary while still delivering in a hospital. Raquel helped us achieve this. She truly was there for us every step of the way and we couldn't be more grateful!

Raquel was such a blessing to our birthing experience! We were on the fence about hiring a doula but after meeting with Raquel and getting a glimpse of her knowledge we were set on having her. Before, during and after delivery Raquel was there for us. She allowed my husband to support me during labor instead of worrying about helping me work through the pain. I would hire her time and time again.

My labor started on a Monday night and we met our baby girl Friday morning. Needless to say, it was a long week! And a difficult labor and delivery. Raquel was there every step of the way. She showed up with bagels and cream cheese Tuesday morning, walked with me around the neighborhood and the mall on Wednesday and danced with me through Contractions on Thursday. She was a pillar of support, specifically during my delivery. She stood there in my line of sight and cheered me on for those 2 hours! Raquel was a calming presence amongst 2 grandmas and my husband. She was my Cheerleader and her encouragement got me through giving birth vaginally, rather than the emergency c-section the doctors wanted to jump to.

I hope to give birth to another heahealthy baby, when the good Lord permits, and Raquel will be there with me!

Raquel was incredible. She made the birth experience so much easier by using her amazing techniques. She helped keep me calm and get through labor like a champ. I also love how much she prepared us for what to expect and What our options were when it came to our birth. We feel so lucky that we got to have her as part of our baby boy’s birth. She is so kind and knowledgeable. I highly recommend her And can’t wait to have her there for the birth of our next child!

11/10! Raquel is amazing. If you're looking for someone who is experienced and passionate about being a doula, you've found the right woman. Well in advance of the big day, Raquel spent a couple of hours with me to go over every step of my birth plan, including all of the potential alternatives I might need to consider, so that I wouldn't be caught off guard when our little one was ready to arrive. She was also a fantastic resource for all of the questions I had along the way. But most importantly, she was dedicated to making my baby's arrival as close to what I wanted as possible. We had a stubborn babe who decided to come two weeks late (I had to be induced, actually), and Raquel was there with us from the beginning. Every time a decision needed to be made, she would remind me of my goals and ask me if I was comfortable with what was being proposed by the midwife or nurse. Even though I was in labor for almost 27 hours, Raquel was by my side almost every minute, unless she was getting me ice water or apple juice. :) She stayed by my side for more than a day, guided me through some gnarly contractions, and don't tell my husband, but her hip-squeeze skills trumped those of a 6'3" 250 lb man...she is truly awesome!

In sum, do yourself a huge favor and choose Raquel as your doula. She'll definitely be my first choice if we have another little one.

Raquel was an amazing Doula! She made my experience feel like I could get through this no problem. She was able to calm me down and help me with my breathing.  I had a difficult labor experience and she made it much easier than it could have been. She was by my side the whole time and talking me through it. She help me position my body in a way that would be less painful for the contractions. She talked me through each contraction helping me breathe and calm down. I literally couldn’t have done it without her!  Anytime I know a friend is pregnant I tell them you have to have a Doula. I will never not have a Doula now because of Raquel! She is kind and understanding and listens to your birth plan and what you want. She was not judge mental or pushy in anyway when I explained how I wanted my birth plan to go. She just was encouraging and loving and made the experience worthwhile! It was a special day!  The one thing I was really excited about was that she was able to take pictures and film my birth. I look at that video weekly! It reminded me of how special my little bundle of joy is. I can’t believe that I will always have these memories because of Raquel! If anyone ever asks what to do let does I explain my birth experience and almost every time my friends tell me I want to do laugh when I have my baby! During my labor I was vomiting, crying, obviously an excruciating pain and she would talk me through it.   I had broken my tailbone prior to going into labor so they were only so many positions I could be in.  My husband is an amazing man but he wouldn’t have known what to do and what positions to put me in so I wouldn’t be in excruciating pain.  Rachal was able to help me maneuver and walk during labor. She was able to help my husband not be nervous and helpful during this time. Even my husband says I wish you lived closer we need her for our second baby!

Raquel is an invaluable doula. She met with us in advance to discuss our childbirth goals, with compassion, lots of information, and no judgement. The birth of our son was more difficult than we’d hoped - 24 hours in total, but Raquel was there every step of the way. At our home, suggesting ways for me to support my wife during contractions, then advocating for us at the hospital, reminding us our goals, offering information to help with difficult unforeseen decisions, again without judgement. She allowed my wife and I to have an intimate experience, but was always there, helping. And she took amazing photos and videos that we treasure! Honestly, I couldn’t imagine the experience without her. She was the right decision.

"We had a great experience with Raquel and I am so glad we chose to have her as our doula! Both me and my husband felt very comfortable around her and had an instant connection when we met - we wanted her in our birth team! Raquel has a soothing and nurturing personality, she is also very knowledgeable and provided us with great birthing resources during pregnancy.

She was essential during labor as she guided and supported our family through our home birth experience, we wouldn't have it any other way! We will always treasure her, she is more than a doula, she is our friend."
