Tracey was our doula for the birth of our daughter. We had a few visits with both Nicole and Tracey prior to the birth to go over our birthing plan and to answer our many questions as first time parents! They were both incredibly helpful in helping us form our own informed choices. Their constant support leading up to the big day eased our anxieties. When we thought labour may be starting Tracey arrived promptly showing us some pain relief techniques. She really helped with getting labor move along quickly by doing the “hip shake” to get baby in proper position! What we are most grateful for is that Tracey helped us stick to our birth plan! We honestly don’t think that we would have if she hadn’t been there. Her constant encouragement and hands on support made sticking to our birth plan not only possible but a positive experience! Her follow up visit postpartum and having her as a constant resource has been invaluable! Without second thought we will hire RMDs for any/all of our future births!
Tracey provided me and my family with Postpartum Doula services after the birth of my second child. She was such a joy to have in our household and brought such a confident yet calm energy with her. My preschooler warmed up to her right away and was happy to play with her (which he doesn't do with everyone!). Having her in our home to support us allowed me to rest and recover from my postpartum hemmorage. She prepared food for us to eat, folded mountains of laundry, and wore my baby in a carrier for naps so I could spend one on one time with my older child. Her breastfeeding knowledge is unparallel and so reassuring to be able to ask questions and get up to date information in response.
This was my first pregnancy and like most first time moms I was extremely nervous about my labour and delivery. A family member recommended to hire a Doula to help us feel safe and have the best possible birth experience. Tracey was quick to reply to any question I had throughout my pregnancy, and the day I went into labour just gave us tips and tricks to try to and help speed up the beginning stages. When she arrived at our place she just observed how I was coping with my contractions (which was lying in my bed with my husband watching friends) she let us do our thing. Shortly after she arrived my water broke and that was really scary for me. She reassured me that this was amazing progress and encouraged me to try new positions. I felt safe. When I knew it was time to go to the hospital having Tracey there made a world of a difference just knowing how to read what I needed without me having to say anything. Whether that was a sip of water or a boost on the TENS machine. And when my birth didn’t go as planned and ended in C-section I felt so much better being in recovery knowing that Tracey was there with my Husband. She was txting me photos which made me feel much better being away from my newborn baby. A week after the birth she came for a home visit and helped us with our first bath and taught my husband how to wear a body wrap! She wasn’t only amazing for me but helped so much calm my husbands anxiety while watching me in labour. We were so happy to have had Tracey. And if more babies are in our future we will definitely want her there again!
The prenatal support I got from Tracey and her team was amazing. I was planning a home VBAC, and after my traumatic first brithing experience I had a lot of anxieties. Tracey helped me to feel empowered to have the birth I wanted, and she was so supportive any time I emailed her, venting or freaking out about my upcoming birthing. She provided information for any topic I asked about.
During my birthing time, Tracey helped to keep me calm. My pain management techniques I had planned weren't working the way I envisioned, but she reassured me that everything that was happening was OK. She set up the birthing pool for us, called the midwife when it was time, and handled all the background work so that my husband and I could focus on our job. I lost confidence in myself halfway through my labour and wanted to go to the hospital. Tracey made sure to remind me of what my birth plan was without ever making me feel like she was telling me what to do. I always had the power to make the decision, but she encouraged me to believe in myself and stick to my plan. And I got my HBAC that I wanted and needed. This birth was such a healing experience for me, and I couldn't have done it without the support of my doula. If I have another baby I will be hiring Tracey's team again.
I had the pleasure of having Tracey as my doula for the birth of my daughter and she was amazing!! She has a calming personality and I found it very comforting during my hardest hours of labour. She sat by my side and was able to make me laugh and encourage me when things got hard. Tracey never left my side and was there for whatever I needed which was a good break for my husband as well. Having a doula is a definite must for any mama-to-be!
As a plus, doula is a La Leche League leader and she was such a huge support system for me post partum. I struggled a lot during the first few weeks with breastfeeding and Tracey was always just a phone call or text message away answering my million questions. She spent 3 hours with my daughter and I during our post partum visiting ensuring my daughter’s latch was perfect and helping with those difficult first few days.
I would recommend Tracey to anyone looking for a doula!
