Having Helen as a doula was one of the most important choices I made during my pregnancy, not only for me, but for my spouse and my baby! As a first time mom, I had many fears about pregnancy and birth, but was immediately put at ease having such an incredible doula by my side. Helen is informative, supportive, compassionate and comforting. Helen played such an important role in my birth and post partum- just her presence made things easier. I will absolutely be choosing Helen as a doula in any future pregnancies and would highly recommend her to anybody.

Helen was our birth and post partum doula when our first child was born in December 2017. Helen immediately made me feel comfortable when she met with us to determine if her doula services would be right for us. Her professionalism, enthusiasm and open communication style continued to show in each subsequent meeting. My water broke at 35.5 weeks, just days before Christmas, and Helen adapted to the situation easily. She was on call for us 24/7 and made sure to clearly communicate her availability during the tense days leading up to my induction. In addition to having family support on site, Helen was a valuable presence on delivery day as she helped me feel supported, informed and respected at all times.

The post partum doula services that Helen provided were perfect for us because she was willing to do whatever I needed that day. Folding laundry, rocking baby, bringing snacks or reading material and sharing her parenting experiences were all very welcome actions in those early days of motherhood. I felt comfortable asking her for advice, sharing my thoughts and accepting her help with our precious little son when extra hands were needed.

After meeting Helen for the first time I immediately felt at ease about my upcoming delivery. Her commitment to the entire process and research about any questions I had was so helpful. I had intended to have a medicated childbirth and after things didn't go as planned, Helen's tools and techniques are what got me through the labor while still having a positive birth experience. She was there for my partner and I emotionally before, during and after labor. I wish more people were given the opportunity to work with someone like her and couldn't imagine this experience without her.

I never saw myself and someone who would need or want a Doula during my pregnancy. When Helen offered her support i accepted thinking there wasn't any harm having more information and supprort during a time like this. What I didn't realize was how much I really did need that support. Helen sent me enouraging messages, she sat down with me numerous occasions to answer my questiosn and offer different tips and techniques to help me through my labour and delivery. She downloaded meditative music onto an ipod to aide with my anxiety, lent me resources and came to my house to help out after the baby was born. She is the kind of person that just seems to know what you need without having to be asked. She is a wonderful person and an excellent Doula. She knows her stuff, but doesn't push her views on you. If you're on the fence about getting a Doula, I would highly reccomend Helen- you woun't regret it!
