I interviewed several doulas before finding Amanda. Having never done this before I wanted to take it slow and see who was out there, during our first meeting I felt such a great connection with her that I hired her on the spot! I’m so glad that I did! Ananda was wonderful throughout the whole process, she was dependable, punctual, knowledgeable and always had a calming demeanor about her. As this was my first birth, I was a bit nervous when the day came, but Amanda was totally responsive and encouraging from the start. She responded immediately to my 3:30am texts when my water broke and then helped me get through the contractions both at home and at the hospital. The birth was only 6 hours total, and Amanda helped make my dream of having a natural childbirth without pain medication possible. After the birth, she made a couple visits to my house to help me with baby wearing as well as with my little girls latch, which was making breast feeding painful. I 100% recommend hiring her, if I’m ever lucky enough to have a second baby, you can bet I will be calling on her services again! Not only is she a great doula, but also a wonderful person and now friend :)

As a side bonus, she is also a certified massage therapist and photographer! I had a great prenatal massage in my house from her and she did a great job on my maternity and newborn photos as well!

Hiring a doula was the best investment I made during my pregnancy.  Amanda is caring, knowledgable, personable, and extremely supportive.  We texted almost every day in the final weeks of my pregnancy.  The morning I went into labor she met us at the birth and wellness center and shortly thereafter she was giving me a foot and leg massage (heaven).  She was supportive without being in the way and my husband never felt "replaced".  During contractions, Amanda applied pressure in just the right spot on my hips, that the contractions became bearable.  I tried to let my husband take over at one point, but he didn't have the same touch and I immediately asked Amanda to step back in.  In fact, I was handling the contractions so well, the midwife sent us home, saying it didn't appear like I was advancing and that I should rest and come back later that evening.  Well not even an hour after being home I called Amanda for assistance.  She came to my house, took one look at me, and said you're in transition.  Within minutes it was clear to her that we wouldn't make it to the birth center or hospital, so she called 911.  Meanwhile I was in denial it was finally time and my husband was so relieved to have experienced support.  Amanda coached me through an unexpected home birth, captured the most amazing photos of my EMT delivery, and was a reassuring presence the entire time.  She even came back to our home later that night to capture photos of our 3 year-old meeting his baby brother for the first time.  I now recommend a doula to everyone and highly recommend Amanda Krebel!

My husband and I were so thankful to have Amanda as our doula. I felt so supported, especially when I was in early labor for a week before my water broke. I texted Amanda constantly and she was always so helpful, she encouraged me so much during that difficult week. She sent me words of encouragement constantly and it was wonderful when I was feeling so frustrated that things were taking so long. When my water broke at midnight, Amanda got ready and waited for us to tell her we were ready to go to the hospital. She actually ended up at the hospital before us, because she headed there as soon as we said we were ready to head that way. During my labor she helped by encouraging me, talking me through each step and making sure I was supported when my husband needed to leave the room for anything. In my moments of fear she helped keep my mind occupied on other things and assured me that I could get through it. She also took our birth photos and I'm forever thankful that she captured the beautiful moments of our daughter coming into the world!

As a first time mom, having a doula at my birth was definitely a huge help. I’m so glad that I chose Amanda! Meeting with her before birth gave me a chance to ask questions and get advice, as well as cultivate our relationship. During a very long labor, she was a calming presence and a knowledgeable voice in the room advocating for me. I would have only remembered fifty percent of the questions I wanted to ask doctors and nurses without her!

She helped my husband and me feel calm and informed throughout labor, and she definitely helped with coping strategies for the pain!

After birth she came by to check on me, even though it was an hour drive for her to do so I felt very well cared for throughout the whole process with Amanda

I would highly recommend her to anyone!

Amanda was great. There are a lot of things I could say about how she got me sprite, rubbed my back and feet, advocated for me to nurses and doctors, kept people in and out of the room as I wanted etc etc etc but I'll just share one. Amanda provided a sence of comfort and support so that my partner and I truly enjoyed laboring together. She was available and willing to do whatever was needed and created a space that felt safe and calm. She took away so much stress and anxiety and laughed with us and as a result, I loved my birth experience. It felt peaceful and empowering and fun.

Amanda was a doula for my son's birth in April. I can't speak more highly of her. My husband and I still talk about how much she meant to us throughout the end of pregnancy and during labor. She gave me a ton of emotional support and many text messages the last few weeks of pregnancy - which I needed because I went over 41 weeks! Amanda has such a calm and friendly spirit to her. During labor she was able to give me both emotional and physical support to get me through a long labor. She made me feel so empowered to make decisions during labor that helped me have a very positive labor and birth experience. It was a blessing to have her be such an intimate part of our journey in bringing our son into the world. I'm forever grateful for all she did. Thankful I can now call this doula a friend :) .
