Client Testimonials for Megan Stauffer

Post a testimonial for Megan Stauffer

Megan is awesome! She was with us at night for about 2 weeks after our second baby was born.  She was able to help with our 4 year old son and help with the baby.  She was great at giving all sorts of advice about newborns and toddlers.  We really appreciated her help!

After a rough few months following the birth of my first child, I knew I needed support in the weeks following the birth of my second child. In preparation of my second’s arrival, I sought out a postpartum doula who could help ensure I got some sleep, encourage and help me achieve my breastfeeding goals, share tips to overcome common newborn challenges (fussiness, gas, tongue/lip ties, etc.). Megan checked all these boxes and more! Megan is very personable, open minded, non-judgmental, and a baby whisperer—-seriously though, I never heard my baby cry out more than just a quick “I’m hungry” cue. I had Megan come during the day when it was just me home (husband at work), and routinely used this time to catch up on several hours of sleep. I’d wake up not only to a content baby, but clean dishes! I never requested she do that, but it was so nice that she took the initiative to do so when the baby was asleep.   This speaks to her character and her dedication as a postpartum doula.

Megan was a lifesaver for me. She was my postpartum doula for my second child (Didn’t have one for the first - big mistake). After my first child, I knew that I needed support for the first few weeks because the sleep deprivation resulted in some serious postpartum anxiety and just general problems. Megan totally worked with our needs and schedule. We wanted overnight coverage a few nights a week. The nights she came, my husband could sleep all night (critical since he was working and doing almost everything with our older child at that point). Megan brought the baby in for me to nurse then took care of everything else so I could get the maximum amount of sleep. She helped us work through an undiagnosed tongue tie (eventually treate), gave me suggestions for how to deal with fussiness/gassiness, and so much more. Her training as a lactation consultant was particularly helpful, but there was no judgment when I chose to skip some nursing’s in favor of sleep. She was nothing but supportive. I even woke up in the morning to a clean kitchen and folded baby laundry! Megan is a wonderful doula, a mom herself, and a kind and thoughtful person. We originally intended to have support for only 2-3 weeks but ended up asking her to help for around 8! I highly recommend her to anyone looking for postpartum support.

Megan is unparalleled.  She is professional, thoughtful, has a natural way with children, she's extremely knowledgeable and adaptable, and she simply goes above and beyond. We recommend her completely.

Megan was very helpful and encouraging as a postpartum doula. As a first time mom with no close family support, Megan helped me feel confident and taught me many valuable skills. I also appreciated the fact that she is a lactation consultant and a great support for breastfeeding- very important in the early days with a newborn. When my husband went back to work 3 weeks after our baby was born, Megan was there to help- and provide  time for me to take care of myself. She was respectful of our home and assisted with housework as well. I highly recommended Megan as a postpartum doula.

I am so grateful for the expertise and calm demeanor that Megan brought to my family's early postpartum period. Megan was so attentive and caring, providing guidance through many early challenges using her training as a lactation consultant, childbirth educator, doula, and mother. I was able to relax and enjoy the experience of getting to know my new baby, knowing that Megan was there alongside us to provide support and share information as any issues arose. Megan cares so much about new parents and their babies, and she empowered my partner and I to feel confident as we navigated those sleep-deprived early days. I am grateful for the time Megan spent supporting our family and for the calm and loving environment she helped us to nurture from the start of our fourth trimester.

Words cannot express how wonderful Megan is.  She was our postpartum doula and she helped me so much.  She was great with our son and her presence was very calming for me—which is a rare feeling when you have a newborn.  Megan did a number of overnight visits for us during the first few weeks and months after our son was born.  She was so reassuring and supportive during a time when I was extremely anxious (and very sleep deprived).  She gave me the peace of mind that my son was well taken care of and that I could sleep through the night and wake up feeling like a real person again.  With Megan helping with our son, I was also able to spend some much needed time with our 5 year old daughter.  Megan is amazing and I feel so lucky to have had such a wonderful postpartum doula.
