As a social worker I have a lot of experience helping women with trauma backgrounds and sexual abuse survivors. This can transfer into the pregnancy, birth, and motherhood experience and I often work with women providing them additional support in this specific area.

I had a wonderful experience working with Christine Westergard and would gladly work with her again and recommend her to other expecting mothers.
One of my biggest concerns leading up to delivery was having emotional support. Both my husband and my parents/relatives live out of state so we wanted to know we could count on our doula to be there with us through the whole process. Having Christine arrive at the hospital eased my mind. I particularly was glad because my husband could have support too (or just go get some water) if needed, without feeling like he was leaving me alone. Having a doula was also nice because the nurses and OB could focus on their medical tasks whereas Christine could focus on my emotional/physical needs.
The most helpful part of doula support was having the physical assistance during labor. Christine used counterpressure which helped to ease my contractions. She also helped me to know when to switch positions. I used the bathtub while in the hospital and Christine helped with different positions there and also once out of the tub. She also was my side through all of the delivery (and held my hand when needed!).
I chose Christine specifically because I knew she had a background in medical social work and has experience working with women with mental health concerns. As I have previously encountered anxiety I wanted to know that I was working with someone who could help not only during labor/delivery but also during our postpartum visits. I wanted to be able to talk about how my mind was doing in addition to my body.
Christine was amazing during our labor and delivery. She was very supportive with me and my family. She did everything to help me through my contractions also offered my family a break when needed. I loved her compassion, even when things went wrong during my delivery she was there to support my husband it really helped him get through it. I would recommend her to anyone who is thinking about getting a doula for their delivery. I can't express how much I appreciate her being there, Christine thank you so much for everything that you did.
Christine was an incredible and essentail part of our birthing process. We had a great birth plan, but our Son, Benny, had a plan of his own. It was a very difficult birth, and for me as my first child I was greatly overwhelmed and under prepared when things didnt go smoothly. Christine was there for all of us. She was the calm center in the room and we all learned how to help my wife Ana by watching her. Many times I broke down and many times she was there for comfort and support. I am so grateful for her and her time and feel very forunate to have her with us. Thank you so very much!
"I have been thinking about what should I say about Christine this wonderful person. I had such a hard pregnancy and my delivery was even harder but having her with me and her support helped me a lot more then what I was expecting. I meet her at the hospital After me being in pain for about 32 hours. She stood by me give me support made me felt like I know her for long time. She was Just the perfect person that I need next to Me. I feel no matter how much I say about her it’s not enough.
Thank you so much for your help and being next to me Through my hard times
Being a first time mom can be kind of scary. There are lots of unknowns, especially about labor/delivery and postpartum care. Christine helped me feel at ease about what to expect. She couched me through the best breathing techniques and supported me as I tried to figure out breastfeeding - which ultimately I decided not to do, but Christine was supportive of my decision.
The day following my delivery, Christine visited with us in the hospital. She made sure that my husband and I were doing well and answered any questions we had. A few days after we got home from the hospital, Christine stayed the night in our home. Since our baby was having a hard time latching - Christine taught us how to finger feed her with a tiny tube and formula. Christine even tended to her the whole night, which allowed for my husband and I to get some MUCH needed sleep.
Christine is very knowledgeable and caring. She helped my husband and I to feel at ease about the whole process - from pregnancy, to delivery, to postpartum care. I would recommend her to anyone who is looking to hire a doula to coach them through the process.
Our exoerience with Chris was amazing. She was 100% on it. Amazingly informative, helpful and very kind. When we were laboring at our house before going to the hospital, Chris came over and helped get our heads in the right space and assisted my wife for four hours. She then went home to grab some necessities and met us at the hospital. We can't thank her enough and I would recommend Chris to anyone. She also shot the best photo of Lauren, Eloise and me as soon as Eloise was born. It is framed and hung in our hosue and I look at it in awe every day. Thank you, Chris, for being such a huge part of the biggest day of our lives! We love you!
