I was very nervous when we decided to get a Doula for the birth of our first child. I’m a very socially anxious person and find it very hard to get comfortable around people. However, from the moment we interviewed with Jacqueline Tapp (Jacqui), I knew that I wanted to have her at our birth. We had two visits with her prior to birth, and I felt already so supported and comfortable with her. She helped us finalize our birth plan, sent videos on stretches, meditation, and helping to let go of fear. She checked in with us a lot leading up to birth, and then when I did go into labor, she was at the hospital with us very fast. She made all the difference with getting through contractions by helping with counter pressure, breathing, and reminding me to not tense up my face. She helped my fiancé a lot as well with helping me manage pain and keeping him calm. When I did ultimately decide on an epidural, she helped my fiancé with positioning me on the peanut ball to help in the final stages of dilation. All the while helping me stay hydrated and keeping a fan on me when I got hot. One of the most special things she did for us as well was take photos when my son was being born. It wasn’t something that I was expecting from her, but she offered so we did it and they came out so amazing and they are something that I will cherish forever and be so happy to look back on to remember my baby‘s birth. She visited us at home after the birth, and she brought a gift for both my baby and I. She was such a calm, reassuring and supportive presence before, during and after our birth. I would highly recommend Jacqui if you’re thinking of having a doula attend your birth. She was amazing.

Having Jacqui support our family as our postpartum doula was truly one of the best decisions we’ve ever made as new parents. From the moment she stepped into our home, Jacqui brought with her a calm, compassionate presence that made us feel supported, seen, and understood in one of the most vulnerable and life-changing moments of our lives.

Jacqui wasn’t just there for our son—though her gentle, confident way with him gave us peace of mind and space to rest and recover—she was there for all of us. If you’re considering a postpartum doula—do it. And if you have the opportunity to work with Jacqui, know that you’re in the very best hands, she is exceptional.

I cannot express enough gratitude for Jacqui and her incredible support during my pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journey. From the very beginning, she made me feel empowered, informed, and deeply cared for.

When my husband and I decided that he wouldn’t be in the delivery room since he needed to be with our firstborn, who was still quite young at the time, I was naturally anxious about going through labor without him by my side. But from the moment I met Jacqui, I knew I wasn’t alone. Her warmth, reassurance, and expertise immediately put both me and my husband at ease.

Her calming presence and wealth of knowledge helped me navigate every stage with confidence.
