Larissa was my doula for my first pregnancy and birth. She is AMAZING! She's so nice and down-to-earth and will immediately make you feel comfortable and at ease. Larissa listens to the parents' wishes and does all she can to ensure a positive birthing experience. I was able to successfully deliver my daughter unmedicated with no complications. Having Larissa by my side was both comforting and motivating. She was also amazing postpartum, coming to my house a few weeks after with lactation energy balls and a book on the most nourishing foods for postpartum mamas. I truly cannot recommend Larissa enough and will absolutely use her again if my husband and I are blessed with a second child!

Larissa is a consomate professional who is very passionate and knowledgable in her field. We engaged Larissa during my pregnancy to not only be our Doula but also for pre-natal yoga. Larissa came to our home each week and helped me ready my body for labor and also assisted with any aches and pains I had at the moment...I felt spoiled for sure! Larissa not only helped us bring our daughter into the world but we also made a lifelong friend. Larissa is wonderful and I highly recommend her!

I am honored to recommend Larissa Brum as a doula. After the birth of my son I told my friends and family that I could not imagine going through labor and delivery without her! I knew that I wanted to have a natural birthing experience and had learned that using a doula would be helpful. We met Larissa and discussed my vision for pregnancy and birth, tools for coping during labor, her role in addition to my husband as birthing coach, as well as what would happen if things did not go as planned. We felt very comfortable and well prepared having her as part of our team. She put my mind and body at ease with her wealth of knowledge and abilities in the birthing process; massage, yoga positioning, pressure points, breathing techniques, mantras, etc After meeting with Larissa at our home to finalize our plan, she offered to visit on my due date as I was feeling anxious and uncomfortable. She worked me through a series of exercises, provided me with a relaxing foot massage while working pressure points, and talked me through a meditation. I went into labor that afternoon, feeling well supported and ready! Our only hesitation in working with a doula was for this experience to be family-oriented and for us to ultimately have control of the situation. It was important to us for my husband to play an active role. Larissa was kind and compassionate, and did not interfere with the special family moments that come with a birth; in fact, she was able to photograph some of those moments for us. In the end I cannot imagine having nurses that I had never met be the only other people providing support. It was extremely beneficial to have two people there to provide me with the tools and comfort I needed, while allowing them each time to recuperate as well. The hospital staff was shocked when they learned that our birth was Larissa’s first as a doula! She was so well prepared and comfortable in her role. I strongly recommend working with her as a part of your birth team.
