In our experience like first parents, I can say that having Deanna as our doula was totally a bless!! Absolutely worth it! Actually we feel like we're gonna be forever grateful and we'll never forget her, because she made a super great work. Last few weeks before our due date she was teaching us all the journey of the delivery, and in the big moment, we spent two days in the hospital room, and she was supportive all the time; since my water broke until the baby came out; you feel like you know her already, like a friend or family and she has lots of experience!! She is a wonderful person as a doula! If you are contemplating hiring a doula, and you are reading this... listen to me YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!! When we decide to have another baby, she has to be there with us again. She is awesome, we definitely loved her.

Deanna was a lifesaver!! So the doula we selected was someone else who looked just wonderful *on paper*. She turned out to be quite a bad communicator, had overbooked herself, was always late and confusing in communication, and on the day my labor started, sent me a terse email saying she was at a conferece. To cut a long story short, I was so crazy stressed out by her (while I was having contractions!). Deanna was the sub she sent in her place and OH MY WORD I AM SO GLAD TO HAVE MET HER. The only great thing about my otherwise awful experience with the first doula was meeting Deanna! She has great bedside manner, is a super calm presence and said all the right things to me as I was going through painful back labour. She had great suggestions for pain management and rubbed my back which helped a lot. When the pain was too much to bear, I got the pain meds and her responses to my questions/musings were always informative, reassuring and always aimed at supporting my needs and desires. When it was finally time to push, she counted 1 through 8 which really helped me focus and push. And her photographs were so beautiful - i will treasure them forever. She was super cheerful and encouraging by texts and also did a wonderful post partum visit with us and the baby. Get her as your doula, don't think twice - she is wonderful!!

I had a very had experience with my 1st child and wanted a positive experience with my 2nd child. I knew right away I wanted a Doula. Deanna was AMAZING! From the moment I met her, there was an ease about her which is very comforting.  During my labor, Deanna was very knowledgeable and was able to communicate to the hospital staff how I was feeling in a way that I didn’t feel that me or my husband would have been able to. When my labor intensified, Deanna was right there, working just as hard as I was.  I relied on her to walk my husband through what was going on and how to help. During my delivery, when things started to get scary for a moment there, she was right there 100%.

The photography that she offered was awesome as well. I was not in the right frame of mind to take pictures, and I would have really been upset later when I realized the opportunity I would have missed if it was not for her. They are all great. Deanna was able to capture all the feelings that moment from each and one of us.

Deanna is a very caring, lovable soul. It is clear that she is a Doula because she cares, and that passion shows. From the initial interview, the pre-hospital visits, the labor and birth process, the follow up visit, even to her little “check in’s” to see if everything is going ok; Deanna makes the whole experience wonderful.

I am so thankful that we hired Deanna as our doula.  From the first time I met Deanna, I felt at ease talking with her.  My labor was relatively fast and intense, and Deanna was an incredibly calming presence to have in the room.  She helped to facilitate things I didn't know I wanted or couldn't communicate at the time.  She has a great instinct of when to step in and help and when to give you and your partner space.  Her birth photography was a wonderful bonus to help document the birth, and her support after the birth was a reassuring resource.  I had an incredibly positive experience with Deanna and highly recommend her.

Deanna was amazing! I can't imagine what it would have been like to go through the experience without her. She helped me stay calm and manage my pain through massage and movement. I think she probably worked just as hard as I did! She was a huge comfort and resource to my husband as well! I'm so happy we know her, she's a remarkable calm, loving and patient person.

Hard to imagine having gone through our first birth journey without Deanna! She was super knowledgable and patient - allowing us to ask every question we had, and educating us on the things we didn't even know to ask questions about. During the actual birth she was calm and collected and gave us the space between my wife and I and the medical staff to make decisions with confidence. We bonded through the experience and we are both so glad to have had Deanna by our side. It was clear from the first time we met her to 'interview' her that she does this work because she cares, and wants to help make the experience of bringing a new life into this world as special and safe as it should be. She's just a sincere person who will have your back!

Deanna was a fabulous doula for us both for our birth and as a postpartum doula. At my birth she was a calm presence and although she was technically my back up doula, once she had been through the beginning of labor with me she and my first doula chose to have her continue on with the birth. I am so greatful for the continuity of care she gave and her own personal interest in my birth.

The birth was not an easy one, but I credit Deanna with saving me from either a vacuum and/or c-section. I had only pushed in two positions and wasn’t making great progress when time came to make the decision of either vacuum or c-section. Deanna suggested that we try one more position and it was that position which I was able to easily push my baby out from. I ended up hemorrhaging, and I cant imagine what this birth would have gone like if I had a c section or a vacuum.

As a postpartum doula Deanna was the calming presence combined with experience that we desperately needed (as all our family is on the east coast). With four kids, Deanna is extremely experienced, non-judgemental, and comforting. I had her come at night in the early weeks and it was so wonderful to be supported through precious sleep and through Deanna’s empathy and experience.

Deanna was amazing from the time we interviewed her through after our daughter was born. Her personality is extremely warm, loving, and friendly. From the first time we met her, I felt like I knew her and that is why we ended up choosing her out of all the doula options. She was easily available to contact and always reached out to let me know she was there for anything. She had an extreme amount of knowledge so that I knew what to expect from each doctor appointment as well as when I started labor. She was there as soon as we needed her and even stopped to get me granola bars that we never had time to get!!! She took absolutely beautiful photographs and stayed well after the delivery to make sure mom, baby, and dad were all well. She continued to check in with me as well which was amazing. I cannot recommend her enough!!!!!
