I had two C-sections before discovering Doulas of Jacksonville. Since then, I've had three natural births. I couldn't be more pleased with Christin. She's knowledgeable, sweet, and professional. I highly recommend her and her team to anyone looking for a doula.

I had no idea how much support Doulas of Jacksonville would give throughout my entire pregnancy and birthing time.  Early in my pregnancy, Christin took the time to chat with me about what I wanted for my birth and how she could help make that happen.  I then connected with Doula Summer.   Summer was the ultimate sounding board for me during my pregnancy, listening to my frustrations with my OB and helping me work through conflicting opinions about where I should give birth.  She offered advice and evidence-based research to help me come to the best decision for me.  I’m forever grateful to her for encouraging me to switch care providers and giving me the confidence to choose to have my baby in a birthing center, despite what my friends and family were telling me.  Summer was there to support not only me but my husband as well.  She walked us through what we could expect during childbirth and even took the time to attend our Hypnobabies “birth rehearsal” so she could better understand how I had prepared for my birthing time.  On my baby’s birthday, Summer arrived to our house and offered guidance to my husband on how he could best help me and gave me amazing suggestions for comfort (omg- the shower!!!).  She then accompanied us to the birth center and stayed vigilant while I pushed for a longgg time, working with the midwife to offer new positions, bites of honey for energy, and support to my husband.  When baby was finally on their way out, the midwife asked me to get in a lunge position.  I felt I had no more strength left within me, but Summer worked quickly to grab my leg and position me to assist my baby with shoulder dystocia.  Without her, the birth of my son may have looked very different, and I don’t think I would have had the amazing birthing experience that I did.  I cannot recommend Summer enough!

I cannot recommend Ashley highly enough! From the moment we started working together, she showed exceptional dedication and adaptability. Throughout my birth journey, there were several unexpected challenges and changes to my birth plan, and she handled each one with grace and professionalism.

Ashley was an incredible support not just for me, but also for my husband. She guided him on how best to assist me, ensuring that we both felt confident and prepared. Her constant presence by my side made all the difference, providing a sense of safety and care that was truly invaluable.

Her warmth, expertise, and unwavering support made a world of difference during one of the most important times of our lives. If you are considering a doula, I wholeheartedly recommend Ashley– she went above and beyond in every possible way and we could not have done it without her.

Christin helped me immensely during my pregnancy as well as my birthing process during Covid-19. I have general severe anxiety and my anxiety became even worse when restrictions on births started. Christin educated my husband and I on the birth process very well, as well as educating us on our choices and options. Although ultimately she was not able to be in person for my labor and delivery, she stayed on video chat or on the phone with us from start to finish, helping keep me calm and concentrated as well as guiding my husband in helping me. She has been an amazing resource for me and was always so kind, patient, and lent a sense of humor where she could lighten the mood. Our family loves her and you will too!

Christin was absolutely crucial in our wonderful birth experience, and I could not be happier with her. Things did not go exactly as I had planned, and that was why her expertice, knowledge, and active support were so valuable! I wanted a peaceful water birth at the birth center, but the baby and my body had different plans, and I was induced at the hospital, and ended up getting an epidural for pain control. Christin was with me every step of the way and advocating for me, telling me the possibilities with every choice I was making. I am so grateful for her being with me, from before our baby was even born, through the labor and birth process, and beyond. I wish every pregnant mother had someone like Christin by her side.

When I found out I was pregnant I was very excited, but also very anxious. I had a bad history with medical care and I was aware of many issues that could arise during labor, delivery, and postpartum. I was very nervous at first meeting Christin. Trust is very hard for me to give because of my history and anxiety. She immediately validated me, made me feel safe, and heard. Throughout the pregnancy at every turn she was a solid rock that kept me present and as calm as possible during many unexpected challenges during Covid-19. I felt completely supported and she gave my husband and I any and every resource to have a successful birth even though she was not allowed in the hospital because of the restrictions due to Covid-19. We stayed on the phone or FaceTime with her from the start of my induction due to hydramniosis until the birth of our beautiful boy. I cannot stress enough how valuable she was to us through the whole process. Her support, information, and guidance gave me the confidence I needed to have a beautiful birth experience. Thank you so much Christin!

Choosing Christin as a doula was the best decision I made for the birth of my second child. Before birth, she taught my husband and I tips and tricks for natural birthing and answered our many questions about the process. After ending up in the hospital for an emergency induction due to pre-eclampsia, Christin came to the hospital to help me make decisions and move forward through a difficult and unexpected hospitalization. She stayed with me for the 36 hours it took to deliver, guiding me through every step. Her calm demeanor and gentle voice kept me calm. She held my hand, coached me through contractions, brought me ice chips, and even wiped me face with a cold washcloth when exhaustion tried to take over. Her knowledge of the process and how to take the next step forward was invaluable. I was then able to call her any time in the next couple of weeks that I had questions or needed sound advice from someone knowledgeable about birth and babies. I know without a doubt that aside from actually choosing to have a doula, choosing Christin made all the difference for my birth experience.

I am one of those “I can do anything” type guys that was resistant when my wife first brought up hiring a doula. I completely misunderstood the role and was actually offended. I was very active with the birth of my daughter, and I truly felt that I was the partner that my wife needed me to be to have a smooth delivery experience. Once I did some research I was willing to entertain hiring a doula.

Then we met Christin. Within the first 5 minutes I was ready to hire her. She was very thorough and really made me feel comfortable that not only would she help alleviate stress for my wife, she would also assist me in being the best partner that I can be.

When the day came my stress level skyrocketed. My wife chose to labor in the comfort of our own home as long she could before we headed to the hospital. As the evening wore on I began to get more and more frantic, fearing we would not get to the hospital in time. ENTER CHRISTIN!!! She was available by text and by phone with every silly question that I had. She advised me on signs to look for and ultimately coached me on when to strongly encourage my wife to head to the hospital.

As we got to the hospital and through the final stages of labor and into the delivery, Christin was right there. She played an active role while also giving plenty of space. She was amazing at helping us stick to my wife’s birth plan exactly how she had hoped. The experience that Christin helped us to have meeting our son is one that I will be forever grateful for. With the intensity of a natural delivery it was amazing to have a faint tap on the shoulder and a whisper to encourage me to grab the camera, hold my wife’s hand, rub her back, kiss her forehead, etc. all at the perfect time.

I have so many wonderful things I could say about my experience with Christin as my doula. She was a vital part of my birth. She was respectful of all of our birthing decisions and provided research-based information when we needed it. While I had a swift labor, Christin was incredibly helpful during the active pushing stage of delivery. She helped to keep me grounded, focused, and relaxed when I wanted to give up. She’s a natural nurturer. She has a calm, un-intimidating presence that helped me feel more confident in asking for what I wanted. She also knew when to step back and allow my husband and I to have our moments. I am blessed to have experienced the birth I had hoped for, and I am so grateful to have had Christin’s guidance throughout the process.

I was pleased with Christin from the get go! She was prompt at replying upon inquiry. She did Not rush though our initial phone call and was very attentive to what I had to share regarding my previous birth experiences and what I wanted from a doula. She was professional but also very sensitive to my family’s emotional and physical needs. Christin was upfront about financial obligations and what she expcected from us. Once contracts were signed she was always available as needed for questions, concerns and even a few appointments leading up to the birth of baby. On the day of baby’s arrival she was completely attentive to my family alone. She was never distracted and she was assertive at helping me stick to my birth plan. More than anything, I appreciated the balance that Christin maintained through our journey  as assertive, honest and knowledgeable with loving, empathetic and open minded. Whether she was dealing with myself or my husband or a healthcare professional, Christin was able to give a well informed opinion in a loving and respectful manner So that me and my family always felt respected and those who we were interacting with throughout our birth journey felt respected. Over all, Christin provided exactly what we needed from a doula and we would highly recommend her to anyone!

Christin was an amazing support for me during my pregnancy and labor. I have quite a few health issues that cause me to be considered high-risk and needed a birth plan that would encompass not just my own wishes, but also would take into account the many possibilities that could arise from expected pregnancy complications. Christin took the time to talk through each possibility, from VBAC to emergency c-section and tailored a birth plan to my specific wants/desires/and probable outcomes.

Next week my son turns one and I am still amazed by how easy his birth was in light of the complications I did have. I was prepared and empowered through each decision and it made a world of difference. I don’t have a single regret with his birth and a large part of that is due to Christin’s patience and planning.

I would absolutely recommend her services to any and all of my family and friends! If you are able to secure her services for your next birth, you will be truly blessed. She loves what she does and it shows in every way. You’d have to love what you do to be able to withstand an extremely grumpy pregnant lady during hours (through the night and next day) of a magnesium drip.

To know her is to love her. ?? Thank you, Christin, for all you have done for me and my little family!

Christin was a great doula. When I was in labor I was on the border line of getting some pain medicine or asking for the epidural because I never experienced the no medicine labor with my son I got the epidural but, Christin helped me through everything and she was right by side through everything she never left my side. I dropped a few tears on her she is WONDERFUL I have no regrets and I would do it all over again if I have her again. If it wasn't for I honestly believe I would have gotten some medicine but I thank God that I was able to experience the birth that I wanted. The birth plan I had came true everything went exactly how I wanted and i was medicine free thanks to Christin I would thank her everyday that's just how great she was.....Thank You Christin

Christin was so supportive during my birthing experience. She had such a calming presence and soft, encouraging voice while guiding us. In the days leading up to my birth, Christin came to our house and made sure my husband and I were prepared mentally and physically by showing us different techniques and talking about some of our fears and concerns. I definitely felt more prepared because of her! She eased my mind and made my birthing experience a success.
