I had a lovely, caring, and mindful experience with Jessica. Having my fourth child and fourth c-section, I never had a calm and mindful experience so I wanted to hire a doula. Additionally, I deal with depression, anxiety and stress during pregnancy so having Jessica really helped me focus in on my pregnancy and have the connected experience I always longed for. Jessica was there for me several times throughout my pregnancy, came to the hospital and waited while I delivered via c-section, spent time with me post delivery, followed up with me in person at my home post delivery, and let me know she was there for me whenever I needed someone to talk to. During my pregnancy she even purchased and helped me create a belly cast so I could have a token of remembrance of my body during pregnancy. I would highly recommend Jessica to work with you to help support you through your pregnancy!
This was my second birth experience with Jessica. I can honestly say it would not have gone as smooth and comfortable if I did not have her there. She was my best friend, my coach, my support system. She was ready at a moments notice to do whatever it took to make the birth experience easier.
I was voluntarily induced that morning at 5am. I was expecting it to take until the long hours of the night. It was comforting to know she would be with me if so. However, I had my son by 5pm! She was helping me through all the movements to try to get the baby lower. Instead of being uncomfortable and in pain and self conscious, it was actually fun having her show me exercises to get the baby lower.
After the epidural (also voluntary) she made sure i changed positions frequently to help my son naturally progress. She advocated for me to get a peanut ball, which was frankly amazing. The first one was flat so she went out to get another one that was adequately filled. With all these movements, exercises, position changes, and the peanut ball, my labor went so much faster and smoother than I could have imagined. I truly believe without having her there, I truly would have been in labor until early the next morning. I am extremely grateful for her.
She also gave my fiance tips on how to support me as well so he felt included and helpful. When the pain got the worst, she was there for me, talking and encouraging me through.
This was my fourth and (hopefully) last pregnancy. I had two traumatic experiences with my first two childbirths. Having her there for the third and fourth pregnancy was completely healing for me. I feel I got the perfect birth experience I had always wanted. And i would not have had it without her there.
Jessica is an amazing doula! She is very professional and knowledgeable. She has an extensive lending library with great resources. She will attend to your physical and emotional needs as well as support your birth partner according to your birth plan. I do not feel I would have been able to achieve the natural birth that I desired without her support.
When I was searching for a doula I had done some research to have some background information on doulas and more specifically details about the doula I was interviewing. The first time I met Jessica, I felt comfortable with her because she was easy to talk to, down to earth, and she took her time when explaining and sharing information. Typically, doulas offer a first consultation free which is normally 1 hour but Jessica and I easily spent 2 hours chatting. Her personal child birth experiences, professional birth support experience, and community outreach efforts were inspiring to me.
From the moment Jessica arrived at our reaidence during my labor she helped ease my discomfort. Jessica was physically present for every contraction through birth and into recovery. She had a doula bag with energy replenishing snacks, birthing supplies, and my birth plan. She knew when to encourage me, give me space, let my birth partner step up to be a hero, step back to let the midwife and nurses do their job, and give me the confidence I needed to push through till the end. I really can not say enough great things about Jessica. If you are considering her as your doula, do your self a favor and let her support your birth.
If you are on the fence about a doula, I am here to say go for it! My first birth I went without, and it was one filled with anxiety and fear. I got to have a labor experience that I wanted because of Jessica. Of course, very little went according to my birth plan, but she was there every step of the way helping me feel supported, encouraged, and heard. She helped guide my husband to be an active participant in the labor, and I felt surrounded with love as I brought my baby into the world. Had she not been there, I truly feel I would not feel so positively about the entire situation. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being a part of our story. HIGHLY recommend Jessica to anyone and everyone!
Jessica is the reason I attribute my success to breastfeeding. I had 2 prior deliveries that were miserable, so I had a lot of apprehension and anxiety with my induction with my 4th child. Her presence there was so comforting and reassuring I was able to absolve all my worries and completely focus on myself. I have a tendency to take on worries and a mental load worried about others. She made sure I was focused on myself. It was so comforting to have someone so empathetic take care of me when I needed it most. Because of her, this birth was my most pleasant one. I also believe because of the pleasant birth experience, I have not developed post partum depression as I did after my other deliveries. She was my defender, sticking up for me when my resolve would waver. She was a masseuse when my back was racked with contractions. She was my lactation consultant when I was having a difficult time getting those first few latches. I will be entirely indebted for her presence at what was the best birth I've had to date. Thank you.
I highly recommend Love Birth services. My 5th pregnancy I thought I had it all figured out and didn't think I needed a Doula since my husband is such a supportive partner.. We decided to go with Jessica Love anyway. I had 2 weeks of intense prodromal labor, I just primally felt like something was wrong and the baby needed out. Jessica was there with me helping me labor with text, and call support, as well as in person support when I was ready. She lent me a medicine ball and other stuff to make hte labor easier on me at home. She believed my gut feeling as much as I did and made sure I knew I was not crazy. She even went to the hospital with me and advocated that the doctors should hear my complaints when the doctors were convinced I only wanted an induction. When the hospital released me without doing a through check up Jessica sat with me while I cried. Finally baby day arrived. Many scary complications arose during the delivery that I had never experienced. Jessica was there making sure I was calm, the doctors heard me, and explaining it all to my partner and me. Jessica did little things that made such a difference like taking birth photos on her phone for us which I didn't realize I would cherish now. When the baby was born she helped me get my rooting baby latched right away. After they took Baby to be weighed Jessica made sure I had something to eat. The nurse found a bump on the babys back that later we found out was closed spina bifida that the doctors had not caught during pregnancy as well as a few other abnormalities. Jessica was just taking care of me as a person and keeping me calm. None of the doctors or medical staff would even tell us what was going on, Jessica explained it all to me. She held our hands and was there whatever we needed the whole day. If it wasn’t for Jessica I would have been an emotional mess through the whole thing. She took exceptional care of me and my family when we needed it most.
Jessica went above and beyond to ensure I had a great pregnancy and birth. Even when I had to give up my home birth for a hospital birth she reassured me that everything would be ok and stuck by my side. She was well educated and prepared. I could not have had a great birthing experience without her.
