We were so lucky to have had Bernice as our doula at the birth of our first baby. She was super attentive, supportive, thoughtful, and loving, not only throughout the entire labor process (which was an induction and took about 31 hours), but also during the later stages of pregnancy via multiple visits to our apartment and texts to check in and provide helpful information. My husband and I always felt very comfortable with Bernice and confident that she would keep our interests as the priority, despite that some of our decisions didn’t align exactly with her own recommendations or experiences (I was set on having an epidural from the start, but appreciated her explaining reasons for not having one, etc). Her patience and encouragement during labor were amazing, and she was great at bringing up suggestions, questions, or comments that I would not have thought or known to bring up myself. We would highly recommend Bernice!

I was so lucky to have Bernice during one of the most important moments in my life! Although I had another doula with my first kid this was a completely different experience. From the moment I met her, we clicked. She is warm, attentive, calm, and very patient. She cared for me like my own mother.

Although my laboring time was much longer than my first child, I felt I had all the support I need.

Thank you Bernice for being  knowledgeable and kind at a time I needed it the most.

I highly recommend Bernice.

Bernice Aguilar is such a blessing to my family.  She was pro-active in preparing us for birth from the very beginning.  She met with us and talk through the education material she provided for us.  The most helpful part was working with me and my husband for positions that were helpful to keep me comfortable during labor.  When I was unexpectedly hospitalized to be induced two weeks prior my due date, she was among the first I called to help me decide how to move forward with my induction plan.  She encouraged me to ask as many questions as possible and to assert myself to the resident doctor.  When she arrived to prepare me for labor,  I was so relieved.  I was able to deliver my baby boy without an epidural because she literally supported me with counter pressure on my sacrum.  That must have been tiring for her,  but she was there for me for every contraction.  She was the first photographer for my baby, and I am so thankful for that.   She captured to most amazing moments of them placing him on me, cleaning, and wrapping him.  Furthermore, when I had difficult breastfeeding, she would reassure and suggest options that help me and my baby learn how to breastfeed.  She is available for questions and is reassuring along the way.  How much more can I brag about my doula?  She is amazing.
