Birth Fee: $0 to $600
Fee Details: Hello! Please feel free to find more details on my website! My typical fee is $550 for a happy birth. I do not charge for Bereavement Births. I also do not believe that a woman who truly desires to have a doula should be prevented by cost. So I am willing to negotiate and barter. I welcome low income clients, single mothers and teens. I am a Catholic doula and this influences my philosophy of practice. I am happy to offer Fertility Education and NFP help Post Partum.

As a mother of four children here on earth and seven in Heaven, my advocacy and education work is important to me. In addition to birth work, attending bereavement births (miscarriage, later loss, and stillbirths), and studying to be a midwife through Via Vita School of Midwifery, I am a Bereavement, Miscarriage, Stillbirth and Unexpected Diagnosis Advocate - through Workshops, trainings and talks. I am also Vice Chair of The Guiding Star Project - developing standards of care for Bereavement Support, a Contributing Author and Birth Expert for http://www.womendeservebetter.com/ and part of the Association of Divine Mercy Healthcare Professionals.

Laura has assisted me as a birth doula with 2 live births and as a bereavement doula through 1 miscarriage. She did an amazing job supporting, encouraging, and validating my experiences throughout my pregnancies, labors, and deliveries. She became a strong supporter and advocate for my birth "plan", allowing me to have the birth experiences I desired. She was the rock I needed when I delivered my 2 unmedicated homebirth (one was a 10 pounder!) Laura had words of encouragment at just the right moments when I didn't feel I could go on, tricks and techniques to help with the pain, but was also intuative enough to know when I simply needed my space. She truly enhanced my birth experiences and I would definitely use her again and recommend her to others.
On the other side, Laura had a amazingly compassionate and understanding heart when I dealt with my miscarriage. It was a bit of a drawn out and traumic experience for me. She supported me emotionally, spiritally, psychologically every step from the moment I found out. Having had her own experiences with losses she knew first-hand what I was experiencing and could be knowledgeable as to the process and what I could expect both physically and emotionally, as the doctors give you minimal information and instruction. You are left on your own. But I wasn't alone--I had Laura. She allowed me grieve as I needed. She allowed me to vent when I needed. She allowed me rage when I needed to do that. She held space for me to mourn my baby. She is a listening ear, a gentle supporter, and a loving heart witnessing and walking beside you as you go through the experience of loss.
