Hiring Margarita as my doula for the birth of my son was one of the best decisions my husband and I made during my pregnancy.

Upon our initial meeting, I just knew Margarita was the one for us! She is warm, caring, and knowledgable. She was also a great resource and available to answer any questions I had via text. During our two prenatal meetings, she helped my husband and I figure out birthing positions and what I was comfortable with and she also introduced us to reiki, acupressure, and hypnobirthing. I listened to the affirmations and rainbow relaxations that she provided with increasing frequency up to my due date and I credit both for helping me through my labor! I'm very fortunate to have had Margarita as part of my birth team and highly recommend her as a doula!

I was sure that I wanted a doula after taking a childbirth class but my partner was skeptical. He felt confident but I knew that labor and delivery could be unpredictable and I wanted someone there with experience. And Margarita was that person!

When we first met Margarita, I immediately felt comfortable with her. She was warm, confident, supportive, and knowledgeable. Her background in Chinese medicine appealed to me as I was giving birth in a hospital and felt that the balance between Western and Eastern medicine would give me the best care in labor and delivery. There was also zero judgment from her about our decisions for how I wanted the birth to go. She supported our choices 100%

My labor ended up being high risk with quite a few complications. Margarita, in our first session together, had pinpointed areas of weakness that ended up being exactly what caused the complications. She had recommended diet and nutritional changes that the hospital later recommended, postpartum. Margarita had been ahead of them all!

During labor, Margarita offered amazing support. Her knowledge of my condition (preeclampsia) and her confidence and trust in me that everything was going to be fine was what I needed to stay confident and focused. Her steadiness never wavered and that was a comfort to us. When contractions started to get strong, Margarita's use of acupressure and massage as well as breathing techniques were invaluable! They helped so much!

Before and after my baby was born, Margarita was available any time to answer any of my questions and would send emails with amazing resources. She even made me a foot soak for postpartum recovery. She was quick to respond and has been an amazing support through breastfeeding.

The best testimony to how great Margarita was though, came from my skeptical partner who said to me after, "That was such a great decision in hiring Margarita! She was amazing!"

When I mention the birth of my daughter, I always say Margarita's name! I was extremely grateful for the sense of calm she brought to the labor and delivery process. From our inital email exchanges to her follow-up emails after the birth, Margarita provided great emotional and physical comfort to our family. After our first meeting, we felt so comfortable and trusted her completely. We literally cannot thank her enough for her help. She was an exceptional doula. She is warm, caring, smart, and above all she listened to our family's needs. We felt completely safe in Margarita's hands.

Margarita assured  two first time nervous nellies and helped us prepare in so many ways! We were not sure about so many aspects and had so many questions(!), which she answered promptly and in depth. We never felt pressured but always reassured. Margarita is extremely knowledgable and was able to help us prepare for labor by explaining  all the options for delivery, and teaching us different pain management techniques(I was extrelmely worried about the pain associated with labor).  I had no idea what pitocin was, how an epidural is adminstered,  or how a yoga ball can help with pain managment to name a few things. Margarita explained all these terms and procedures. She helped us define "hard no's" for our delivery and encouraged us to have a converstaion with our doctor. We are so thankful for the information she provided us, because of her  we felt empowered when talking to our OB/GYN about our birth plan. During labor I still remember Margarita and my husband massaging my back and helping me breathe through the contractions. Margarita's accupressure training came in super handy and her massages were amazing! We knew that whatever type of birth plan we chose (medicated/unmedicated) Margarita would have helped us.

We unequivocably recommend Margarita as a doula.
