Cassandra was wonderful! She is the second doula I’ve used and she was way better than the first one we had. She was very attentive and knew what I needed from our prenatal sessions. She was the perfect combination that we needed between natural labor/birth and understanding the need for medical intervention. She was very good support for both myself and my husband. She even checked in with me multiple times in my post partum period. Will use her again with the next one!

Cassandra was able to provide me (and my husband) the ability to go into labor/birth confidently and as prepared as possible.  She is really knowledgable about pain relief techniques for birth and I really loved that she is also a lactation consultation, since breastfeeding was my biggest concern with my baby.  During my labor, she calmly supported me and advocated for me so that I was able to fully focus on the task at hand.  Loved having her as my doula and would hire her again!

The first time I met Cassandra we connected from the start. She was confident yet relaxed which made me comfortable. We did some great activities during our meetings pre-baby that helped clarify my labor/birth preferences. I knew I could focus on laboring and Cassandra and my husband would be my advocates which helped easy my anxiety. I knew that no matter the situation, they would help me make decisions and that Cassandra brought the insight to help me be informed.

Once I was finally in labor, via text and phone calls, Cassandra helped me figure out what was happening and how to assess each stage. I was going to deliver at the MN Birth Center and they encourage you to labor at home as long as possible. I knew I would relaxed and comfortable to do this with the educated help of a professional. Cassandra came and helped me labor well with relaxation and pain management techniques. Her being there enabled my husband to load the car as the contractions were getting stronger and closer together that I needed someone always by my side. She helped give me a plan and confidence to labor alone in the car which was a scary thought to me. Cassandra continued to give me great confidence through the rest of my labor at the birth center. I focused on her calm and encouraging voice when contractions took over. She helped remind me to relax, keep my voice deep, and to breathe when I forgot in the intensity of the moment. Her telling me I was doing great meant a lot as I knew she had seen many ladies labor. My husband was a great emotional support and Cassandra gave me a different encouragement he never could have. We loved having Cassandra at our first birth as she brought in a great relaxing yet uplifting tone and gave me confidence that wiped away most of my anxieties. This helped contribute to a wonderful labor and delivery environment which I believe attributed to my shortened labor time. I would highly recommend having a doula and for it to be Cassandra!

I would absolutely recommend Cassandra Martin as a Doula.  She answered all of my questions and answered the phone when I called. She was especially calm and prompt when my labor contractions began and all the way through the delivery of my son.  Afterwards, she followed up to answer any further questions and helped me with my baby carrier and car seat. When i needed immediate nursing help she helped me get a fabulous lactation consultant to my door that same evening. At times, scheduling was challenging.  However, I am very pleased with the service I recieved.  She was kind, calm, and professional.

Having a doula (especially when your doula is Cassie!) as a part of our birth team was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. Knowing Cassie was going to be at our birth, and building a relationship beforehand, gave us peace and excitement about our birth. Before our little one arrived Cassie was more than happy to answer any pregnancy related question via text, picture, email, or phone call – no matter how big or small. She addressed our physical, emotional, spiritual, and logistical concerns by providing options and resources.

During labor, Cassie’s warm embrace, physical support, and especially her words of encouragement, made me feel safe. We also knew that Cassie would advocate for us if any issues arose.

It was Cassie’s help with breastfeeding and a difficult postpartum anxiety diagnosis that solidified her spot in our family. She saw us at our most vulnerable and gave unconditional love and support. Whether you know what kind of birth you want, or if you need someone to help you from scratch, Cassie will help you explore all the options and help you pick what is best for you, your baby, and your family! We are so thankful that Cassie helped our little one have a “joyful beginning”!
