You need Kayla Stewart as your doula! Whether you've had one before or are new to the doula concept, Kayla is a dream. My husband and I give her 5 stars. She was our doula from late April till June 2017. Additionally, she assisted in encapsulating my placenta. She was objective when providing information and research requested. As first time parents and no family in the area, I wanted a birthing doula for emotional and physical support. As we got closer to the due date, realized we had to hire a doula more than anything for my husband (ha!). I interviewed two doulas and chose Kayla. I felt a connection. Kayla is very experienced in the field. She has a big heart and deep knowledge of birth and child development and care. And she's a sweetheart. Kayla is attentive to detail and organized. She prepped my husband and I before spending several hours with us to go over what to expect of the birth and what to expect once we were home with baby. Excellent communication skills (my husband is Italian, ESL), and timely in followup. She was always accessible by text or email with any question we had. I alerted Kayla when I was in labor, and then when I was ready for her to come to our house before the hospital. Throughout it all, Kayla made it clear this was my birth, my way. Part of her role was to see it through, and to provide the assistance my husband needed to thrive. Her massage touch was magical during my painful back labor (yep, apparently a thing). She was the perfect balance to hospital staff. After giving birth, she checked in on us via text while were still in the hospital. She also visited us at our home when we were ready to have her. If we have a second child, we will hire Kayla Stewart again. She is kind, empathetic, knowledgeable, nonjudgmental, experienced in different birthing styles, and accessible. We recommend contacting Kayla today.

Kayla is an angel! My partner and I interviewed with her and instantly knew she was the perfect doula for us. She has a warm, nurturing, and kind energy that made me feel at ease. During my pregnancy she provided a wealth of support and information as I needed and she helped me keep my values and my desires at the center of my birth plan. When I went into labor, Kayla was right there ready for me in whatever way I needed. She provided the perfect amount of comfort and encouragement to see me through my all natural birth. Kayla was such an important part of one of the best days of my life and her skill and presence made my experience that much more magical! We couldn't have had a more perfect experience.

This was our first child and he was conceived via IVF, so we wanted to be as knowledgeable and prepared as possible. Someone had suggested I hire a doula to help with questions and labor and I thought it was a great idea. Kayla was recommended by a mutual friend who enthused about how much knowledge she had about babies, pregnancy, and birth. When I first met with Kayla I knew right away that she would be amazing. She's non-judgemental, does not make you feel rushed, and helps as much as you want her to.

Kayla went above and beyond what I expected of a doula - not only did she visit us a few times before I went into labor, she also kept in contact with me throughout my pregnancy to see if I was doing okay and let me contact her 24/7. Once I was at the hospital, it was a very long labor and Kayla stayed there by my side over 24 hours, helping me try new positions to help the labor progress, making sure I was doing okay, holding a bag for me when I was sick, and being supportive and wonderful overall.

My husband and I were so impressed at how knowledgeable she was about labor and birth - the nurse asked if she was an RN! When we had downtime, Kayla was reading a book and studying about birth. Talk about being committed to and passionate about her work!

Even after I wound up needing an unexpected c-section, Kayla waited in the room for me to return from surgery and stayed with us to help baby latch and make sure we were okay. I finally told her she should go home and get some rest as she was pregnant herself at the time!

Even after we returned home, Kayla came over to the house when we requested to answer questions and even showed us how to use a baby carrier and clip baby's teeny nails because we were so nervous! When I could not breastfeed well due to past surgery, she was also knowledgeable about the best formula to buy (we did our research and she knew what she was talking about!). I highly recommend Kayla!

Kayla was the doula for the birth of our daughter Antonina. She was extremely helpful, supportive and resourceful. My wife and I were very fortunate to have her. She has plenty of experience as doula as well as mother, and she is full of great tips, which we badly needed as new parents. Great availability and sweet personality complete the package. She also took care of the placenta, which she dried and encapsulated at our home, while we were at the hospital. I totally recommend her. She is a super Doula and a great person to have around in those critical moments. Hopefully, if we decide to have another child in the future, she will be available for re-hire.
