Birth Fee: $900
Postpartum Rate: $25
Fee Details: My fee for doula services is $900. It includes 1 free consultation, 2 prenatal and 1 postpartum visits, plus acupressure during pregnancy, during labor, and postpartum. The reason why I ask to meet with my clients 2 times is because I want to get to know each other. I feel that my client needs to know me enough to be comfortable with me, which will help me to provide them with the best support possible. Every woman is different, and each woman has specific wants and needs. It is my job to get to know them before their delivery to ensure I do exactly what they need me to do to help relax, support, encourage and comfort them during their labor.

We hired Jenn as a Doula for our 3rd baby's pregnancy and 2nd planned homebirth back in early Autumn 2017 for our June 2018 baby's birth. As a trained Doula myself, I understood the importance of having a great support team in labor, and Jenn was amazing throughout my pregnancy. She kept up with regular communication checking in on me, and when I just needed some one to talk to, she was there. I felt confident and comfortable in having Jenn there for our 3rd baby's labor. I didn't talk to her so much about the actual medical stuff or for information, being my 3rd babe, but more so I needed the emotional support and the "what ifs" of having another long labor and how to be prepared for it. (My first labors respectively were 37 & 40 hrs from water breaking initially to baby.) We were able to meet up before baby about 3-4x and it truly felt like being with a close friend. When it was "labor" day I was confident in having Jenn with me and throughout our talks and prenatal visits it was emphasized that I personally needed humor, mixed with physical support to keep me distracted, yet focused. She was all that and Godsend with her support and energy and her working with my midwife, MW assistant, and husband, I was never left alone, or feeling like my labor surges were umanageable. They helped me stay focused and my labor progressed so well and our baby arrived after an 18 hour labor. Near the end, things got a little crazy and unexpected twist, when my water broke I felt baby's hand up by her face, and I said so out loud, and Jenn, my husband and my midwife team all worked quickly and got me to stay in control in seconds. Our Doula was truly an asset and when baby girl needed to be snuggled while my midwives and husband took care of me post-partum for another plot twist. She went beyond what I expected, and if and when the time comes for another baby, we would be honored to have her as our Doula again. No doubt.
Jenn was a wonderful Doula. My husband, she and I clicked very quickly and she was totally open to our hopes for pregnancy and birth. This was our first pregnancy/child and we wanted to do things as naturally as possible. Jenn gave great suggestions and reading materials for us to look into. I was fortunate to have a healthy pregnancy, but she was quick to respond to anything we needed. Jenn was flexible in meeting with us and exceeded any ideas we had about the time spent together. When our delivery did not match our hopes/plans, Jenn was there to support us through all the changes. I'm pretty sure she was with us for over 15 hrs in hospital and showed no signs of fatigue! We couldn't be more pleased with our desicion to work with Jenn and recommend her highly to anyone. It was a lovely experience and a great way to welcome our baby into the world.
My husband and I got pregnant with our third child as soon as we moved to Clay, NY. We had previously had a Hyono Birth with a Hypno Doula in another state and it was a great experience. Therefore, we knew we wanted another Hypno Birth and Doula. We ended up finding Jenn who had a Hypno Birth herself and was familiar with the techniques. Jenn was great about checking in on me during the pregnancy and staying in contact. Even though we went into labor on her daughter’s birthday and she had a bit of a drive to our hospital (St. Joseph’s), she arrived pretty quickly. I didn’t have the best care in triage and the resident Dr didn’t know what he was doing. I was glad we had Jenn who is experienced and very knowledgeable about labor to encourage and advice us. She stayed with us the entire time from start to finish and even offered to come to our house for support while I labored at home. She made sure I was comfortable the entire time and she did a great job talking me through difficult contractions. especially when my husband had to go get our bags from the car and set up our room. Acter the baby was born, she even went to my husband’s car to grab a bag he had accidentally left behind. Both husband and I were happy we had Jenn by our side to support us and make us feel everything was going well. We had a fabulous birth and it was as easy as it gets because we had great support. God bless doulas!
After a hard first labor that lasted 50 hours and ended up with several interventions, I knew I deeply craved a different birth experience, one that was gentle, unmedicated, natural. I was on the fence for the longest time about connecting with a doula (Would it be worth it? Did I even really need one?)...and, honestly, waited until I was 36 weeks along before even interviewing doulas for my second birth. Then I found Jenn. Correction, I found an ANGEL. My second birth was a beautiful, supernatural, healing birth that lasted but a few hours to bring my sweet girl into the world. I COULD NOT have done it without Jenn. Her knowledge, her kind, sweet nature, her joy and passion for all things pregnancy, birth, and babies was and is priceless. I am so thankful we found her when we did!
Jenn provided constant support from shortly after we arrived at the hospital to after the baby was born and we were bonding skin to skin. She helped a lot with lower back massages and hip pressure during contractions and encouragement with words. It was a fast labor but it was nice to have more support this time for our second baby versus our first when it was just my husband and myself. When you don’t know how long your labor will be, the support of a doula is invaluable.
I hired Jenn to assist me with my vbac. She was always very informative and always made sure to stay in touch and ask how I was doing. She would meet with me numerous times and each time would offer to bring me anything I needed. Unfortunately due to see unforseen circumstances I was unable to go for my vbac but Jenn still stayed by my side and supported my decision. She even came with me and my husband in the OR to help support us both. She helped me with breastfeeding and even came to see me after I had the baby and made me lactation cookies. Jenn went above and beyond with all of her services and I would recommend her to anyone who is seeking a doula.
Jenn is everything a doula should be. She is professional, intelligent, intuitive, and passionate at what she does. At our first meeting she communicated clearly and concisely all that she could offer. She encouraged us to discuss our thoughts and needs for the home birth and listened patiently. It was like talking to family. Throughout the whole birthing experience having Jenn as our doula made me always know my wife had emotionaly exactly what she needed. This decreased my stress level significantly and allowed me to experience so much more of the birthing experience. As a father I highly recommend having a doula. After the birth of our beautiful daughter Vivienne Reed, I only recommend Jenn Cackett. She is the best.
For the birth of my second child I wanted to increase the odds that it went smoothly so we decided to hire a doula. From our first meeting where she listened to the long version of my first birth story and took the time to really understand what was important to me, physically and emotionally, in my second birth we knew it was the best choice we could have made. We met a few times before the birth to get to know each other and so she knew where our house was considering she was probably going to have to find it in the dark and snow (which turned out to be true) and it was great. When I went into labor she came and spent the day at our house, taking turns with my husband giving me back massage and accupressure. She had an amazing ability to provide however much or little support I needed throughout the time. This continued when we traveled to the hospital. Again, she and my husband were on different sides doing everything from saying calm yet inspiring things as I breathed through contractions to providing pressure on just the right spot on my lower back to suggesting a new position right when I needed it. The birth of my second child was obviously beautiful and amazing, but it was also incredibly empowering. I have never felt stronger than I did then. We were convinced that our second child was going to be our last, but our birthing experience was so wonderful that it caused both me and my husband to consider having more. Jenn was a huge part of that experience and we can't thank her enough for all did. I wouldn't have known how to explain everything that I could have wanted from a doula before this experience, but she seemed to know exactly what I needed in a given moment and I'm incredibly appreciative for it.
Jenn became my Doula during the first trimester of my pregnancy. I went into labor at 41+6 which was the day I was going to be induced. She came over to my house as soon as I needed her. We all left to Crouse in Syracuse a few hours later and she stayed awake with me all night. The next morning at 6:30am I was given Pitocin because I wasn't dilating past 5cm. HypnoBirthing helped with the intense contractions I got along with Jenn's back massages. Hours upon hours of back massages. I had my son by Cesarean on day 42+1. Jenn stayed with my husband and I in the hospital the entire time which was about a day and a half. I don't know what I would have done without her. She was available anytime I needed her throughout my long pregnancy, helped me with my birth plan and any anxiety I had, and even visited us after Evan was born. The first 2 weeks of breastfeeding were rough and she was very supportive.
While I was pregnant Jenn was in contact with me frequently and really helped me brainstorm my birth plan. She even traveled rather far to meet me in my home and get to know my family. Once she got to know me and understood my vision she helped guide me through all of my options and gave suggestions for my birth plan without any judgment. She quickly learned how research based I was and therefore sent me many resources that I was able to review to make the best decisions for our family. I was completely blown away at how amazing she was the day I went into labor. She was exactly what my husband and I needed. I experienced a lot of back labor and for many hours this wonderful woman provided counter pressure and manual techniques with every single contraction. She is small but she is very strong! Without her techniques I’m not sure I would have been able to have the natural birth I had hoped for. She was a great partner with my husband in coaching me through the hardest times and really knew exactly what I needed. She never left my side (she must have held her bladder for 8 hours!) and was so encouraging and loving. I will forever be grateful for meeting her and having the natural vaginal birth that I had been hoping for.
Jenn was my first birth using a doula, although I was having my third baby. My first birth was traumatic and resulted in a birth injury for my son. My second was a scheduled csection due to breech positioning. She later passed away due to SIDS. To say that I was scared and needed to work through emotional baggage to have the unmedicated vaginal birth of my dreams is an under statement.
Jenn was there for me, when I was pregnant and scared. When I doubted myself, when I questioned what I wanted. She was a supportive, nonjudgmental ear that helped me in ways that my family and friends couldn't.
When labor started, she was there with me every step of the way. We texted and spoke on the phone through half of my early labor, then she came to my house for the rest of my labor. We went to the hospital when I was ready, and she made sure I was taken care of and felt loved. Love is more important than I realized before I began this last pregnancy journey.
Love makes all things possible. Jenn as your doula will make you feel love.
When active labor took hold, her massaging was the best pain relief. She was a couch to my husband and they worked as a fluent team. It helped me to relax to see him have a partner and not bear the entire responsibility of helping me.
When I looked at her and said I couldn't do it anymore (We now know I was in transition), Jenn looked me in the eyes and told me that I could. Every time. She reminded me of my own strength and courage. She was strong for me when I wasn't.
She stayed and supported us through the after birth. And provided post partum visits. The post partum visits are very important, because even if other family and friends are helping, she will be your emotional support.
Anyone who has her as their doula is very fortunate. This birth healed my family's trauma and we couldn't have done it without her.
Jenn Cackett went above and beyond to make my wife's birthing experience special. My wife and I experienced a traumatic birth when our first born son was delivered with a birth injury. My wife wanted to face her fears about another vaginal birth, and we agreed that a doula would be helpful. Jenn was a natural fit for us. Her parenting philosophy, sense of humor, and positive attitude resonated with us.
I think it is important to share my perspective from the point of view of being the husband/partner. The doula relationship is usually thought of solely from the perspective of the expecting mother, but the support of a doula, particularly Jenn in this situation, was essential to my well being. When my wife was having contractions, i was on one side of her, and Jenn was on the other. I had a partner in supporting my wife, and that helped me to be at my very best for my wife. When my wife didn't think she could make it through the pain, Jenn was the one who assertively said that she would. Jenn got us through an event that we were anxious about, and turned it into a wonderful and joyous experience. Days later, I discussed with her the feeling of the "birthing high" that came from how organic and natural the birth was. In discussing it, I realized the great amount of pride and purpose that she has in being a part of such a singificant life event.
The birth of a child is an event that you will remember for the rest of your life, and your memory of the doula that was there will also be with you for life. I fully endorse Jenn, and I am so grateful that she took part in one of the great moments in my life.
Jenn is an incredibly kind, compassionate, and caring human being making her the perfect doula. From our first meeting, she was accommodating to my specific needs as a mother-to-be, a mother of a one-year-old, as well as a natural minded mama. She was always available and responded quickly via text or phone call. She wanted to be kept up-to-date with any information and was so knowledgeable with the whole pregnancy and birthing process. When it came time for my labor, she came when I wanted her there and was so supportive throughout the entire labor and delivery. She gave me exactly the support, touch, and words of encouragement I needed during labor. She was by my side the entire time. She helped me navigate some fears, and empowered me to be the strong mama i am. She was on water duty to make sure I stayed hydrated during labor, and she also gave me an amazing headband to help with my fidgety hands between contraction waves. Jenn went above and beyond with care prior to my daughter being born, during labor, as well postpartum. I would recommend her to anyone, whatever your needs are. She will fulfill them and surpass all of your expectations.
