We hired Staci to help us through the delivery of our first born son, Theo. He was born 8-16-19. I was interested in a natural birth, and was able to achieve it because of Staci. She worked both with my husband and I to prepare us for the birthing process. I don’t think I could have gotten through a natural birth without her encouragement and confidence in me. Staci is extreamly kind and will be your advocate for whatever you want for your birthing experience. Hiring Staci was the best thing I did to give myself the greatest chance to achieve a natural birth. She went above and beyond for us by being available whenever we needed her, and checking in on us after we had Theo. I will definitely want her to be my doula if I get pregnant again. Thank you so much Staci!
My husband, Corey and I found Staci by a simple Google serach, and boy are we glad we did! With myself being a nurse, I knew about pregnancy/labor, or so I thought. Staci opened our eyes to all sorts of issues that arise or can happen. We learned so much from her. She is very knowledgeable in this area! My husband was skeptical at first because he was unsure of what a doula was/does. Once we met with Staci, he felt more comfortable with having a doula. At each of our prenatal meetings, we learned a lot and had a lot of information to review. Staci talked us through what a birth plan can look like, how to achieve it, and how to advocate for ourselves. Once I was in labor, Staci was at the hospital in no time. Both of our families loved her and she kept them updated while they anxiously waited in the waiting room. Staci did such a great job at making the hospital room calm, peaceful and relaxing. I decided to have a natural birth, and without Staci my husband and I agree that I would not have achieved that. She taught us so well through our prenatals that she did not have to advocate for us during the labor, I spoke up for myself! If you are looking for a Doula who is non-judgemental, knowledgeable, kind, and the life line when you have questions, Staci is your girl! We appreciate everything she did for us and we will NEVER go through another pregnancy without her!
My family's experience with Staci was great. We had two main reasons for wanting a doula: 1.) we were worried about being able to advocate for ourselves during the birth and wanted someone to help us do that, and 2.) we were worried about being provided biased information or having information witheld during decision-making points, and we wanted someone to communicate the full medical picture to us during the birth. Staci was a good fit for these needs. During our prenatal visits, she worked to understand our preferences and used them to form a vision of how the birth would go (obviously with contingencies, she was definitely not overly rigid). She was clearly very passionate in her belief that the family should get the birth they want without struggling against old fashioned or scientifically unfounded system practices. This really put us at ease, and I felt that she cared so much that she took much of the burden of caring off of our shoulders, if that makes sense. In other words, in addition to her service of being able to advocate and inform, she also reduced the mental burden of having to worry or be constantly on the lookout. This was a big relief for me. As it turned out, we had an amazing medical team that was very easy to communicate with, and Staci worked well and easily with the whole team. Overall, we would recommend her.
The greatest doula ever! Just when I thought I was going to have a regular birth Staci came in like a true angel. She educated me ever step of the way an even after baby was born she was still there whenever I needed her. She literally gave me the birth of my dreams!
So, we found out we were pregnant in late 2017 and we began interviewing quite a few doulas in the area. As soon as we interviewed Staci, we clicked right away and knew she was the perfect fit for us. She was such an amazing support for our first pregnancy and delivery. Staci was a huge part in preparing us both for labor, delivery and parenthood. She educated both of us about the process of childbirth and recovery. When it came time to deliver she provided the calm strength needed for not only me, but for my husband and mother as well. The moment I told her I was in labor she was on standby and told me she would come to me as soon as I wanted her. I ended up requesting her almost immediately and Staci stayed with us through the entire labor. Her presence was soothing and her knowledge was extremely valuable. Though we had wanted a fully natural birth at that point it was clear that I needed some help, and with the support from Staci, we decided on an epidural after discussing risks and benefits in that moment. It ended up being the right decision for us. After four hours of pushing and 20 hours in labor my son came into this world and greeted us face up. I have no doubt in my mind that if we had not had Staci supporting us, our son would have been a c-section birth. Staci was able to give us the knowledge, guidance and support to have our son without the need of a c-section. The knowledge that she passed on to us gave us the confidence to take home our son, care for his needs and bond with him. Staci is a wonderful addition to our wonderful birth story. I highly recommend her and can't wait to hire her again for our next pregnancy!
I decided to hire Staci at The Statesville Doula when I was 34 weeks pregnant. I had spent several months interviewing different doulas in the area and none seemed to be the best fit for me and my wife. During our consultation, Staci made me feel comfortable and in charge of my birth. She actually made me excited to have my baby after months of being nervous. When I went into labor, Staci was a calm presence over the phone and when I needed her, she came right to me, able to show me and my wife how we could work together for my comfort. It was an overwhelming and empowering experience. If we choose to have any more children, we will be hiring Staci right away. I can't recommend her enough. She is an asset in the birth room.
I do not know where to begin as I am still on a beautiful birth high, in part due to Staci. Throughout my pregnancy, she was ALWAYS available to me, responded to my weird questions super quickly, and never made me feel like I was a burden to her. In my birth space, she gave us the tools we needed to get through labor as easily as possible. She held space for me, supported my husband, gave us space when we just needed each other, and had a super calming aura. It was amazing. I HIGHLY recommend you hire Staci as your doula. You will not regret it at all!
I do not even know where to begin when leaving this testimonial for Staci. I have struggled with infertility for 4 years now, after experiencing a late term miscarriage in 2013. To say I was experiencing a whole slew of emotions would be an understatement. I was a mess. I was so excited to be pregnant, but also terrified I'd lose my daughter. Then I met Staci. It was like finally breathing after being held under water a bit too long. The relief and relaxation I felt after I met her was something I can only describe as getting into a clean bed after working 12 hours too long. Throughout my later pregnancy, any time I had a question about ANYTHING, she always had an answer for me, backed by scientific or evidence based research or simply by her own experiences as a mother. On the night of April 29th, I went into labor. I was so nervous. I was actually freaking out. I called Staci. She practiced breathing with me over the phone and calmed my nerves just long enough to get to me. My birth was so beautiful. A memory I will hold on to for as long as I live. I owe it all to Staci and her ability to calm me, support me, love me, and encourage me through one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences of my life. My partner never felt worried or concerned as Staci was always one step ahead in helping him just when he needed it. She always seemed to know when I only needed my partner and gave us the space to be together. She anticipated all my needs and always made sure I ate or drank to stay up on my energy. While everyone was focused on my daughter, she was focused on just me, making sure I was ok. I love Staci and am forever grateful for her. I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend that you choose Staci as your doula. You will not regret it!
Staci was absolutely fantastic when I was pregnant with my first child. She was super knowledgeable on all things birth and babies and I felt comfortable and confident when she was supporting me through labor. If you are looking for a doula or placenta specialist, she's your gal! She gave me the strength to birth my baby the way I wanted to and I left the experience empowered and renewed. It was an all around great experience and there is nothing I would change. My labor and birth was about 15 hrs total, and she was with me the entire time. I appreciate the little snacks she had with her for me to munch on, the tens unit was a LIFESAVER, and the amount of time in which she sat there squeezing my hips, was extraordinary. I would not have gotten the birth I wanted, without her. She had my placenta encapsuated less than 36 hours later!
